I grew up white in a predominately black area with predominately black friends. I grew up listening to punk and was involved in skate culture, but the crossover was happening by that point in the mid-90s where hip-hop and skateboarding were intermingling. It's not hard NOT to say it, simply because imo it sounds lame as fuck when said by white dudes. Hip-Hop culture has become mainstream. This is what happens to subculture when it becomes the culture.
