YEEEEES I LOVE THIS BAG !!! I have it since two years now and it's the fisrt time in my life that I've founded a bag that really is all what I need ! Practical, not super big, pritty, and so on !
It does! I meant to show it in the video, but I forgot 😁 Although to be honest, the back is super durable, so you probably won't really need the cover.
Ive been using the Peter Mckinnon bag for the past 6 months, not super happy with it so I'm going to be checking out the Tenba bag! Thanks for the video Tom!
Tenba really makes awesome stuff, and the pricing is pretty reasonable. I like the PM bag a lot in some ways, but was definitely disappointed in others. I REALLY wanted to love it.
Oh hell, well, swell, a _bag_ video!!! Wonderful bag Tom! I was sneaking onto their other products because I've already have a backpack (PGY Tech OneMo mk1) but this Tenba is such a well thought out bag. That roll-top is an extremely practical option.
I'm going through the same bag dilemma right now. Thanks for this video. The Tenba Fulton checks *almost* all the boxes for me but I prefer side quick access at least for the camera and that velcro on the rolltop was a bit of a turn off as you mentioned the discreteness of opening the bag. I'm imagining needing to open it in the middle of my kid's recital or something while everyone is totally quiet. I wish the Wandrd Prvke didn't have the all black interior, because otherwise that one seems great as well. I just picked up a bag from Besnfoto that is a definite ripoff of the Prvke but they made a few design tweaks (light interior, zipper on the rolltop, magnetic buckle). It may be the one, but time will tell.
I have 3 questions regarding the bag (I’m currently on the market to buy a bag): 1)What is the breathability like on your back when carrying in hot environments? 2) How comfortable are the straps when carrying all-day or for a prolonged time? 3) Are there any security features or are you able to put a lock on the zippers on the front pouch? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hey, great review. I would like to ask you from where you get those blue and yellow buttons for the zipper. I mean those zipper caps. I hope you understand what I'm asking for :)
I have a Tenba DNA 16 which is sorta similar, but set up more to stand up rather than lay down. I've tried a lot of camera bags, including the more popular marketed ones, and the Tenba is just set up in a way for how I use it, plus the straps and back panel are prob the most comfortable under load. Some of these other bags are sorta overengineered or gimmicky. The side swinging thing is not really for me, I'd rather use a sling or shoulder bag for that sort of lightweight action. Backpacks sorta imply bringing more stuff and travel, usually with tripods.
Great review. Is it possible to know the dimensions when upper part is rolled down? And how thick is it? Looking for something that can fit under seat on European airlines. Thabk you
I'm almost sold on this bag! But my first priority is upgrading my camera setup. I've been using Canon for several years now, but I just got a Sony FX30 for work, and I'm absolutely loving it so far. I'm considering getting myself one for my personal use. Once I do that, the Tenba looks like the perfect bag for me!
I really appreciate how well you explain the logic behind your decision. I personally can't live without side access after using Peak Design bags, but Tenba would be at the top of my list if I could.
Definitely important to evaluate your specific needs! Luckily there are a ton of great options out there. The WANDRD PRVKE line seems pretty great if you like side access.
@@tombuck I have tried out the PRVKE and unfortunately it's not enough side access for my needs. It's only large enough to access the camera. I use side access as a standing lens changing station. The only time I put my bag down is to access my jacket or snacks in the top compartment. I wouldn't change lenses as much if there was any more friction.
HMMM wondering if I could fit the DJI RS3 Pro in the bag, don't mind camera in top section, if gimbal could go in bottom? I would probably have get the 16 inch version,,, cuz I have 16 inch MacBook Pro ,, ??
Great details review! I am looking at this comparing it with the Manfrotto Street Slim Backpack. Both seems to be similar What I read is the Manfrotto Street seems more flimsy. What’s your opinion
only thing I'm not quite sure about is, that it does not have a hip belt. Love everything else about this bag. I'm used to using the hip belt to then turn the back in front of me and kinda using it like a table. This way I can change lenses, whereever I am during standing, don't have to put down my bag. I'm so used to this that I don't know what I'd do without it, can't even imagine having to put down my bag everytime I change lenses
I'm guessing that they didn't include a hip belt because the bag is so compact it might not have worked out well? That's just a guess though. I like your system of never putting the bag down!
I have 2 questions not related to this video and I think only you can answer. 1. I'm trying to screen record my ipad screen (using HDMI and capture card) with voice over through a separate mic in my laptop's OBS. The iPads internal audio is always out of sync with screen recording so recording that is useless. I also use Zoom H6 audio recorder for separately recording audio. But when i try to sync the two audios in premiere pro, they don't sync. The audio of OBS is only mp3, so I tried recording my audio in H6 also in mp3, it still won't work. 2. I just bought the Atem mini extreme iso. If I record my ipad screen using HDMI in that with a mic directly attached to the Atem and another mic hooked up to H6, will these two audios sync? Eagerly awaiting your reply.
I never knew about this company until I visited B&H at saw it on display. At $120 and its feature set - I felt comfortable taking the plunge on this bag without doing any research. It is similar in function to the Wandrd PRVKE bags but thankfully it comes in the option of a canvas material over the PCV material (which I personally just DO NOT like). Its way slimmer then the PRVKE Lite and a lot lighter. The weight was a big selling point for me. I have a Mission Workshop camera bag and LOVE IT but it' can be heavy. So that's my companion airport travel bag where I need to haul a lot on my back + a 16" laptop. This is my carry around town, walkabout camera bag that can haul my camera, a few lens, iPad and a light jacket or launch in the top roll down. The stitching is pretty strong throughout but there are some weak looking points. Time will tell. I got the olive and brown version.
Nice! I've never had a Tenba bag fail on me, so hopefully you have the same experience. Thanks for the insights vs. the PRVKE- I haven't seen that one in person so it's super helpful.
@@tombuck the PRVKE and the material they use just screams Tupperware to me lol. I don’t want that on my back. Same reason I sold my Nomatic every day duffle. It got scuffed and I had a huge white mark across the side that never went away. I’ve had anxieties since. VX material, heavy cotton canvas and Cordura nylon are my go to’s. Overall I’m very pleased so far. The hook and strap for the roll top helps double as a jacket or scarf holder too. Looks wavy hanging a scarf or colorful overshirt on the outside of the bag
Nothing to say about the bag but the Peak Design Capture clip is awesome. On extreme mountainwalks I used it with no issiues, although my old camera is 600gr, with my new one being 900gr it is less comfortable, but the convinience of having the camera to grab on the go is really great. And the new camera is semi water and dustproof, so it stays on the clip in mild rain. Backpack is not a camerabag, but a regular daypack (Osprey).
Good vid, thanks. And great that you mentioned your height, which in fact is very important in choosing a bag, but almost no reviewer ever does. I'm practically the same height as you, so I can see that it will be a good fit.
Glad it helped! The height thing is always tough. The Peter McKinnon bag definitely looked a bit too big on me, but then I realized a bunch of the reviews I watched were from people well over 6' tall where it looked totally normal on them 😁
It would be perfect camera backpack for someone who has to put a LOT OF stuff in. (Like me) I would just be like, Having a camcorder inside and stuff like the adapter, Mics, LED lights and all of that good stuff. (The chargers, USB data cables, Other cameras, Etc.) Even with the front pouch makes it really easy to access the stuff inside. 😊 And also, I really like how it added an extended bag feature for keeping other stuff too. It's like a built-in farbic bag attached to the camera bag sort of. Meanwhile, I have my shoulder typed one. Ha, I still have to use it and its still good, I've been using this bag for like 7-8 months now. And I still have a lot of stuff in there. 😅
Will that Manfrotto hold my A7III w/ battery grip & 70-200, my a6400 w/ Sigma 16mm f/1.4, any random film SLR I decide to take with me, and like 2-3 extra lenses. Been looking for a bag that'll do all that and won't break the bank.
That would definitely be pushing it, but I think you could fit everything. I just don't know if it's tall enough for the gripped camera. I just measured, and the Manfrotto is 5.25 inches deep.
Why isn’t backside camera openings more common? I don’t like my whole back dirty and the straps dirty. Should be more common big reason I’m getting the Fulton
The best camera bag for me is the Peter McKinnon one. I can’t confirm the downsides of it in the review videos. The magnets are just fine and all the other points people love about it outweigh anything else. It’s just such an amazing camera bag. Plus you also get additional extras you can buy for it. I love it so much.
If you ever wanna **Hand me Down--**Wink•Wink** any of those “Too Big Camera Bags”, I’ll gladly be your personal goodwill hahaha! I’m just about to be on the start of my RUclips journey, and a good bag is like the last thing I’m missing so much appreciated all the info, it’s definitely something overlooked by a lot of people, it’s definitely not something I actually thought would be a big “pet peeve” type of situation…. But man it’s so annoying when there’s just something so minor that you don’t like. Ohhh just a thought , if you were to attach a “Molle strap attachment to the shoulder strap, you could then find a great way to install a cheap diy sternum strap that would also be able to be multifunctional :))) hopefully that maybe gives you a good idea!
No ONE EVER gives any hype to Vanguard bags....I suspect because they don't believe in marketing....I have four of their bags in different sizes and huge on value, low on hyped. I like their backpacks because they don't look like camera backpacks which is better for traveling....versus, hey I have $10K of camera gear in this bag.

It does! I meant to show it in the video, but I forgot 😁

That Peak design clip sound is so satisfying ❤ great video.
Love that thing!
Another excellent video, can you share the brand/link of colored table mat you are using in this video.
