  • rrahulvverma@gmail.com | Delhi, March, 2024: This video starts within the Humayun's Tomb complex as we move from the Isa Khan Tomb towards Humayun's Tomb. This walk is from one tomb that belonged to a noble who was in Sher Shah Suri's court and earlier in the court of the Ibrahim Lodi to another tomb that belonged to the first Mughal ruler who had first moved his capital to Delhi - Humayun.
We walk slowly and take in the beautiful, sunny earlier morning views of this area. We pass by the Bu Halima tomb about which not much is known. We then witness another interesting area called Arab ki Sarai which looks beautifully spooky and enchanting, maybe more so on this bright sunny morning. This sarai was where the workers who built the Humayun's tomb in the mughal period are believed to have stayed.
Humayun's Tomb is of course a mausoleum that was built to commemorate and honour Humayun by his wife Hamida Banu Begum. This was one of the earliest examples of Mughal architecture in Delhi. We continue our walk, thinking and talking about Humayun, his tomb, and the period in which he lived. The morning sun and fallen leaves make for a brilliant view.
We soon enter the West Gate of Humayun's Tomb and start seeing the first few views of this majestic tomb as the Delhi sun is rising further and further up behind this tomb. We spend time observing the views and talking about the tomb while walking further and closer to the mausoleum. This video ends when we are almost in touching distance of the actual tomb. We will show more of the tomb and experience more of this beautiful morning in the next video.

While Hindu temples are crumbling and tombs of Native Kings are broken this tomb of a foreign thief from Uzbekistan is maintained like its some kind of a holy site 😂

Hey! Thanks for watching the video and commenting.
All monuments of historical importance must be maintained. I saw beautifully maintained palaces and temples and forts in Rajasthan but I know there could be many Hindu and Muslim and other religious monuments that are not well maintained. I hope we and the government will maintain them well in future.
For the sake of this video, I want to focus on this monument of historical importance. As for native vs foreigners I don’t think that itself makes someone good or bad. Rishi Sunak originally hails from India but rules Britain today. Joe Biden came from Ireland but rules US. We all have long winded histories of migration and movement. Just coming from a different place does not itself make someone good or bad.
