My daughter has real sensory issues. Taking a shower is a challenge. She has to wear headphones due to sound overload. I don't get to hug my daughter due to autism. Those are just a few ways that it affects her everyday life. For someone who claims to have sensory issues, she causes a lot of over stimulation for yourself and others. I will believe her when she starts making actual changes. If she would just be accountable, it would have been good for her. She chose to make more excuses, and that is not ok for me. She is gross, and she has a gross behavior period.

I am glad that Tamra stepped it back and didn’t double down on what she said, and I give her credit for that. I think you’ve shown her a lot of grace, but more importantly, continued to be such a strong voice for individuals and families, and mental health professionals who are extremely frustrated with the tendency for the culture to minimize the significance of these issues.

It is on the same level as brooks! she would have had to have done countless tests, been monitored in person, and seen a few docs who are expert in the field before one is truly diagnosed. It can take years, not a one time visit and whomever told her that, needs to have their license revoked because that person knows you have to take measures before even mentioning something like this to a client. It costs thousands of dollars and a lot of time.
My 26 year old daughter has Rett syndrome, I know I say it a lot. And I am not going to apologize for that. It’s the greatest hardest and most challenging thing I’ve ever been a part of. It’s not autistic, but it presents similar. Often misdiagnosed!

Zach, I agree w you for the most part on autism spectrum. However not everyone on the spectrum is the same. My father has Asperger’s. His only sensory issue has to do with food textures and how it’s plated. He can be in rooms that are loud w a lot of ppl. But he can’t eat something if it doesn’t fit his texture criteria. He’s formally diagnosed and has all the markers of Asperger’s. He’s socially awkward. Can’t look in ppl eyes. Uses masking, etc. Amber B from MTV. The challenge is also diagnosed with autism spectrum and can also be in rooms with a lot of people and noise so please keep in mind that not everybody on the spectrum is the same. I don’t even like Tamara and be honest. I think she’s more on the NPD Spectrum, but not everybody with autism is the same.
There are other disorders that mimic autism - Avoidant personality disorder, Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), Reactive attachment disorder, Social (pragmatic) communication disorder, Schizophrenia. One can't be positively diagnosed with autism by just attending one session.
I have a lot of these symptoms and I’m definitely in nervous system dysregulation but I am NOT on the spectrum. I have anxiety and panic disorder from childhood and bad coping skills as an adult. A therapist is NOT gonna diagnose Autism….my son went to 4 appointments, testing, and school evaluation before he got diagnosed with ADHD. Tamara was irresponsible as was her therapist to say on the spectrum. No doubt she has childhood issues, as does Emily and it takes ALOT of work to sort through that but do better with your platform
I do not like Tamra, but I will say my therapist told me the same thing. “I have flavors of autism” it’s not something I identify as but it does help me understand myself more. Her reaction is also understandable. When my therapist told me I had like a physical reaction that I can’t really explain! I am not a very emotional person but I couldn’t stop crying , It honestly made me feel like a stranger in my body like I’ve been a different person this whole time !I was angry and it made Me realize how Neglected I was growing up. I struggled in every single aspect of my life and it was so obvious ! I’m sure Tamra felt something similar. It was like 30 years of my life I didn’t know something so important! Even though I hate to be touched avoid eye contact cannot eat or touch or smell most things I can not tolerate. It isn’t picky eating andgetting annoyed it’s like I get filled with nervous energy and I can’t control how I react until it’s away from me! I am awkward , aloof, I avoid smlll talk at all cost nc I can see I am making them uncomfortable! Her whole life prob flashed by!

He had to get 3 other therapist twice a week for years. She’s awful. 1 therapy session and she has . Please!!!! Then to try to get more sympathy by sending it to People mag. She’s disgusting. This IS getting out of control. Im 32. I grew up with a best friend who had a little brother (same age as my sister) who was autistic. He could barely function. Such a sweet kid, but would have to be taken care of like a child..for his whole life. Then I was put in DSS custody at age 16, and was sent to a boarding school with a whole house for kids, mostly boys, since I think its technically more common in? who had aspergers (I had no clue what that was before I went to that school) these kids ranged from pretty damn high functioning, to barely being audible. I lived with two girls for a year who had aspergers. I remember the first time someone told me that “because I was mentally ill I was on the spectrum” I’ve had friends that are grown women, just discovering therapy…speak about the “being on the spectrum” like its the same as a mood disorder, ptsd or anxiety. Its just not, and the more “the spectrum” broadens. the more excuses we give people who basically claim they “dont understand other peoples feelings” the more literal SOCIOPATHS, we have frolicking around this earth. As far as I was taught, people with aspergers ARE pretty high functioning for someone “on the spectrum” - is this gen z out here changing LGBTQ into a password, and dragging “the spectrum” to never never land?
There is a checklist for Borderline. Which honestly…I have (and thankfully dont have a lot of the same traits as Tamra) but by watching the show, since season 1, and learning Tamra’s life story. Is very likely for her to have. It would be a lot easier for me to get money to pay my rent from the state, explain why I acted like a monster to my loved ones, after being triggered.. not get up every day and practice skills to improve my life instead of becoming bitter and resentful…If I claimed to be autistic. or on “the spectrum” like Zack said about his brother “not being able to communicate properly and slamming his head into a wall” I have done that. many times. but because of the chaos around me, not even being able to BE HEARD. it was caused by PTSD. If it is true that Tamra is on the Autism Spectrum, that would go a long way to explaining her behavior. If she is not on the spectrum, but spouting that she is, it is just one more thing that shows she is unable to think before she speaks. Personally, I hope she isn't on the spectrum. Learning how to cope with that at such a late point in life would likely be very difficult.

A Licensed Psychologist can diagnose an Autism Spectrum Disorder but not after one meeting. And to go undiagnosed for 60 years…. That’s a stretch. She’s using this as way to explain her bad behavior and that is wrong. Pretty soon all the HW’s who exhibit bad behaviors will claim they are on the spectrum. LOL
You can diagnose someone if you are a Licensed Psychologist. But there are test (both medical and psychological) that need to be done to rule out other illnesses, etc. A Licensed Psychologist can make referrals to Docs that specialize in this area to rule out other medical problems first.
Tamara is not on the spectrum of nothing she's just using it so she doesn't look like a bully and being mean to people she needs to go and so does the Lexus and then Heather will have nobody and then she'll have to fend for herself that would be awesome for next season

There is a checklist for Borderline. Which honestly…I have (and thankfully dont have a lot of the same traits as Tamra) but by watching the show, since season 1, and learning Tamra’s life story. Is very likely for her to have. It would be a lot easier for me to get money to pay my rent from the state, explain why I acted like a monster to my loved ones, after being triggered.. not get up every day and practice skills to improve my life instead of becoming bitter and resentful…If I claimed to be autistic. or on “the spectrum” like Zack said about his brother “not being able to communicate properly and slamming his head into a wall” I have done that. many times. but because of the chaos around me, not even being able to BE HEARD. it was caused by PTSD. It doesn’t mean Im autistic. we as humans, are lacking self awareness 🤦🏻♀️

I am sorry in all of the years Tamra has been on reality I do not ever recall her actually changing behavior after acknowledging a wrong doing. It’s always go harder the next time, it’s vile & I think people have just had enough of her BS hence the outrage! My problem with her is she is asking for understanding and grace, yet she doesn't give it to her co-stars or the people she slams on her podcast.
This is a difficult for me to take being that one my sons is struggling with his Autism at 28 years old.

If it is true that Tamra is on the Autism Spectrum, that would go a long way to explaining her behavior. If she is not on the spectrum, but spouting that she is, it is just one more thing that shows she is unable to think before she speaks. Personally, I hope she isn't on the spectrum. Learning how to cope with that at such a late point in life would likely be very difficult.
I personally think this was completely irresponsible for her to even grab at this as a potential I think diagnosis. Stay off of WebMD, but she’s grasping for straws because she doesn’t have any more excuses for her terrible behavior. How about just own your shit and grow up

A Licensed Psychologist can diagnose an Autism Spectrum Disorder but not after one meeting. And to go undiagnosed for 60 years…. That’s a stretch. She’s using this as way to explain her bad behavior and that is wrong. Pretty soon all the HW’s who exhibit bad behaviors will claim they are on the spectrum. LOL
You can diagnose someone if you are a Licensed Psychologist. But there are test (both medical and psychological) that need to be done to rule out other illnesses, etc. A Licensed Psychologist can make referrals to Docs that specialize in this area to rule out other medical problems first.
Tamara is not on the spectrum of nothing she's just using it so she doesn't look like a bully and being mean to people she needs to go and so does the Lexus and then Heather will have nobody and then she'll have to fend for herself that would be awesome for next season
