    This game is impressive. It's always been one of my favorites on the Atari 2600. The different music played at the beginning of each stage is a nice treat.

    The Jr. Pac-Man cartridge included the so-called SARA chip that added an additional 128 bytes of RAM (doubling the memory to 256 bytes 😆) and 16K of ROM code via bank switching. An impressive expansion for a console designed to play Pong, Breakout and Combat. 🙂

      Cool. Thanks for that info. Jr Pac-Man was a few steps above the typical 2600 game and I guess that's why.

    I spent many a quarter on the arcade version in a lil private owned pizza place when I was around 6-8 years old. That place had the best buffalo wings. Pub's Pizza. I miss it..

      DogSi Notpalc Nah, no prob. I'm not a modern gamer, lol.
      I'm a bit weary about putting in a comment about the 80s arcades though.

    Jr was an amazing technical achievement on the 2600, but I liked Ms. Pac-Man better. Jr. Pac-Man was, for the time, very true to the arcade game, but sadly that also included the arcade game's brutal difficulty. Ms. Pac-Man ramped up more slowly.

      @@ClassicTVMan1981X Jr Pacman was the pack-in game for my "The Fun is Back!" $50 2600 jr. which is weirdly fitting.
      It looks like 1983 - 1984 is when 2600 games were maturing but at the same time there's the crash.
      1986 looks like a "Ok we need to pick up the pieces of what's left" - similar story with the 7800 - manufactured in 1984 and sitting in warehouses until 1986

    Looks 100x better than regular Pacman 2600. Dumb that Atari made regular Pacman lame as hell, even the sound effects, and Ms & Jr are much better, something that could be played more than a couple minutes.

  • @Lightblue2222

    If you beat the green level it plays an ending song which is 3X longer than the other jingles. Then it goes to a very hard gold level.
    I only know because each time you hit the game select switch 4 times it skips to the next level. That way I can start on green.

    Este es un juegazo, y una digna continuación de una franquicia legendaria como es Pac-Man! Ya que, aparte de tener grandes y variados laberintos, estos se desplazan en vertical, haciendo más compleja la jugabilidad. Es extraordinario como pudieron hacerlo en la consola Atari 2600... Saludos cordiales!

      It's like every system had at least one version of Pac-Man. Check out the Amiga, LOADS of Pac-Man clones (upped 5 to my channel recently). Maybe 30+ exist, and most of them are crap.

    • @stufaman
      @stufaman 8 лет назад

      ***** I had an Amiga and I remember all the clones. Remember those PD games?
      Although I do remember 'Drip' being a good one.

    • @iamironclaw
      @iamironclaw 8 лет назад

      stufaman Drip? Doesn't seem to be a Pac-Man clone at all www.lemonamiga.com/?game_id=2283
      I've recorded 6 so far of the ones I think is pretty decent (except the first one where he picks up ACID pills, just did it for a goof).
      I've looked thought most Pac-Man clones on the Amiga. Do you have any recommendations for a longplay?

    • @stufaman
      @stufaman 8 лет назад +1

      ***** I always saw Drip as a sort of Pac Man hybrid. Instead of emptying a maze, you're filling it in. You still have to traverse the whole level. There's all sorts of enemies and hazards.
      Have you tried the game?
      You'll see what I mean.
      You know, I can't remember that many Pac-Man style titles from back then. I remember playing them, just not the names.
      It was the late 80s, early 90s. It was in the frame of mind of finding the new, revolutionary type game. Nostalgia was young then, lol.
      What was that horrible one that turned up on every combo disk?
      Bounder or something. He bounced around a brick style maze and painfully split in two when he died. It was cheap, but it had an appeal.
