Hi. Thanks for watching and the message.
I only have 2 stems that are still alive so hopefully they will survive winter to give new plants.
Rubra is a nice variety. As it’s slower to grow that may also be reflected in how long to root but that is just speculation.
Next year I’m going to try putting the cuttings into seed trays to see if results are better.
Have a good time experimenting 🌼

      Hi Alicia.
Thanks for watching and your message. I haven’t got any progress videos of the cuttings but have done a pruning video before that shows how the mother plant looks, and grows like.
They are not the easiest plants to propagate and success rate is fairly low so take plenty of cuttings.
      All the best 🌻

Hi Ian, can you tell me if all of those cuttings represent 1 plant or will you get several plants? I know when I do Pothos cuttings I put about 5 or 6 leaves with roots on into one pot to make it slightly bigger. Thanks Deb

Hi, hope all is well with you.
Each stem would represent 1 new plant. Cornus actually root well so long as they don’t dry out during summer.

hi ian. what time of year did you take these cuttings?

      Hi Ron.
Many thanks for watching and your question.
I did the pruning and took cuttings in the first week of February, whilst the plant was still dormant.
You can take the cuttings a little later than this but ideally don’t try after the buds have started to open.
Autumn is also fine for taking cuttings, albeit they take longer to root.
      Hope this helps you 🌼
