Sally Fields performance was amazing here. And of course Olivia Ducacus is a legend.
😂 It’s Olympia Dukakis
This made me laugh 😂😂😂😂
I mean Ducacus 😂😂
Shirley McClain was fantastic as Weezer!
@@debragorni2532
it was " Ouiser" ..short for Louisa
it a French pronunciation
“Slap THIS!” not even called on her name, just “This”😭😭
😂😂😂
"HERE HIT THIS" 😂😂😂
"THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR FELLOW MAN"
Ouisa was insufferable 😂😂😂but really had a good heart!
... só mulheres poderosas, "Flores de Aço", inesquecível !
The only movie that made me cry and laugh simultaneously, it’s one of the greatest films of all time. Sensational cast, it’s my favorite❤
Magnificent acting by Field and Dukakis
I wish they still made movies like this but I think it's the end of an era. Now it's nothing but Captain Marvel type movies or movies that rely only on CGI. I don't even bother checking what's playing at the theaters anymore between lack of good movies, sky-high tickets and refreshments. Nope.
I cried like a baby when I saw this movie I😢
Me too. I loved it. Sad and funny at the same time
Me too. I could watch this over and over. The casting was spot on and the chemistry between the actresses was sensational. I bawl my eyes out every time I watch it.
I feel this. I lost my son 3yrs ago. He was 19 and he was beautiful
My condolences. May he rest in peace!
Hes watching over you.......
Very sorry for your loss, I have 2 adult sons and couldn’t imagine being without them.
@@rvtech101 it's the worst feeling in the world. I wouldn't wish this even on my worst enemy
😢 my son died last year my baby is forever 33 💔
Sally deserved an Oscar for that scene.
She sure as hell did! Who won best actress that year?
Absolutely! I've always felt so.
Sally was nominated no win. But she should have😊
@clairelivefreeordie2551 Jessica Tandy (Driving Miss Daisy)
@@karinberonius8799I love Jessica Tandy, but NO way should she have beat Sally that year... nope.
"Are you high Claree!?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love Ouiser
I love steel magnolias and fried green tomatoes. My all time faves
Same here. I can watch those movies every time they come on. Both movies make me cry every time, and God only knows how many times I've watched them.
@@rickyparrilla2426 had them both on the original vhs until a fire destroyed everything one December morning a few years back
I was about to say the same lol
Same
Oh my gosh, me too!
Such a hillarious scene in the middle of such a tragic sequence of events
Just like life
In the theater, it's known as comic relief. A moment or scene of laughter to keep the story from getting too bogged down in tragedy. It temporarily relieves the tension and heightens the drama.
"Take a whack at Weezer" 😂😂😂😂
I cried so hard, and then laughed just as hard. It only happens like that the first time you see this scene.
"Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion." And it is.
Dolly was underrated in this film. "I haven't left the house without lycra on these thighs since I was 14."
Everytime sally Fields cry I cry 😢.. even on Mrs Doubtfire .. I love her .. great actress
One of the most hilarious movie scenes ever! 😂 Makes me wanna buy that "I slapped Ouiser Bordreaux" shirt 😂😂😂 i love Ouiser! 😂😂😂
apparently they did make a shirt like that. they sell it on amazon. It's divine!
Or "whack a Ouiser" 😂
I'd wear one 😂
The feelings Sally portrays here are gut wrenchingly accurate. Amazing actress.
One of the greatest scenes in movie history. Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.
Every actress in this movie is incredible.❤❤❤
Laughing and crying! Great movie! Sally Fields, Olympia Dukakis, and Shirley McClain! What a trio!
As much as I was in tears, this made me laugh too 😆 those are some real besties damn 🥲❤️
What a great movie! These women portrayed friendship to its greatest degree! Great actresses in a great movie!
No offense, the Queen Latifah, but the remake was horrible.
@slimtee2 Some remakes come out good, sadly that one with Qn Latifa & cast just didn't quite make the cut. Its ok. They're all great actresses just the same. Peace be with us all 🙏. "Isa"
This movie was so good. Sally always delivers!
The funniest movie scene of all time. The best part is that you don't know it is coming until you are there.
This was filmed just 65 miles away from where I live. I spent 3 days there during the filming and the Christmas Festival scenes. I met some of them. I will never forget it. A great experience. And the Christmas Festival is a real event in Natchitoches. Has been going on right at 100 years. I had to watch the movie twice to find myself in the background of a scene. Ha!
To this day one of my absolute favorites. Classic movie with an epic ensemble. ❤❤❤
😂😂One of the only scenes where I always go from bawling my eyes out, to laughing uncontrollably within a few seconds.
Miss Olympia never failed to knock it out of the park. Sally Fields also.. excellent actresses 💯💯💯
Have this on DVD and no matter how many times I watch it, THIS scene makes me cry every single time.
Sally Field's character never crys alone and I Love Dolly's 'laughter through tears ' comment...
Sometimes you have to do what needs to be done to stop a heart from breaking. True friends understand. Loved this movie. More of us need true friends like this.
Amen we sure do!!!
I remember the first time I watched this. First I was weeping and then I was laughing out loud. Just a masterpiece!!!!
One of the most powerful movies ever made. A story of community, friendship, love, loss and rebuilding. These women are amazing examples of Southern Hospitality and strength. They hold each other up through grief and anger. They celebrate each other and pray together. Every woman should have a support group like this.
What an ensemble!!! Genius!
Great performance!!! 80s n 90s omg were best of films!! And sally field, wow!!
What a great scene! Watching this , bawling and laughing at the same time.
First time I cried and laughed at the same time. Super talented women!
One of All Time Greatest scenes ever in a movie.
The movie couldn't have been casted any better and has the best one liners! 😂😂😂
Makes me laugh and cry at the same time!!!! Sally should have got an Oscar just for this scene alone!!!!!!😂😊👍👍👍👍👍👍💜
Such a funny and emotional film that lots of people who have lost a beloved one can relate to Sally fields character. BRILLIANT acting. ❤
This cast. This scene. Brilliant
Best scene in the movie!
This was the best. The whole theater was sniffing crying, and boom through the tears, we all ROARED with laughter.
Truly the best!!!!!
It's one of my all-time favourite scenes in any film.
Gave me the exquisite feeling or bawling crying and cracking up laughing at the same time.
Looovee Shirley McClaine too
That movie gets me every time! It was one of the best ensemble casts ever put together. The acting takes you straight from crying your eyes out to laughing. Brilliant writing!
Love this movie, love Sally Fields. All the other actors/actresses were awesome in this movie they all put their brilliances into their characters 👍♥️🙏✝️✌️😎
Love Sally field.. wonderful actress..
Amazing actresses. Sally Fields always delivers a stellar performance.
Best scene ever! I’ve never before nor after switched so hard from crying to laughing in my whole life. ❤
Love all these wonderful women! And i love Sally Fields as an actress. She hits it outta the park every dang time with emotional scenes
Tragedy and comedy turns within micro seconds. Brilliant. Olympia Dukakis is amazing. "Steel Magnolias" was a fantastic film.
How many countless times I have seen this movie, ... and not once could I stop my tears and laughter in between.
My father used to come home and ask, "You watch that movie again"!!!! Lol I Loved this movie.
Im 53 I saw this in Sacramento theater it was sosad and then lifted instantly by this it won all the awards that year 😅😊😊
These were their best roles.
The amount of times of seen this movie since the late 80’s is wild 😂 such a classic 😢
SALLYYYYYYYY😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ HER performance in this movie and pretty much every movie she's ever been in issssssss PHENOMENAL
I do love this movie and The reality of women's friendships All actresses did a phenomenal job in making this movie a huge success .❤️
One of the absolute best scenes of “Steele Magnolia”. One of my all time favorite movies!
Laugher through tears, its my favourite emotion.
I literally cry every time I watch this part of the movie, which I have seen many times‼️
Yes, that's exactly how it feels! She got it!
I saw this movie at the theater with my sister who later got cancer and is now living in heaven with Jesus 🙏✝️ It will always be one of my favorite movies❤️❗️Thank you to all the Great Actresses, you’ve giving me a Core memory that I will cherish forever 😊💕
You know you're good at storytelling when you can write such a wonderfully comedic moment like this into such a tragic scenario and it works!
Everyone in this movie is a brilliant actor... many of the actors of today couldnt hold a candle to these proffesionals.
I love this! We could sell teeshirts that say "l slapped Wheezer Beudro!" ❤
"Are you high Clairee?!?!" Such a great scene, raw and real, up and down and awkward ...just like real life grief. One of my favorite movies of all time, I still cry and laugh when I watch it, it never gets dull.
This is some of the best acting I’ve ever seen - Sally Field is just brilliant.
We all need friends like this that don’t run from tragedy and raw emotion.
This is just a georgous scene..."slap her" - "are you high"...😂😂😂
Classic movie with classic actors. So much joy, so much heartache. ❤❤
This scene makes me from sobbing to laughing in 10 seconds, when she says are you high.
One of the GREATEST movies, EVER! STEEL MAGNOLIAS.
My mom and I embarrassed ourselves by laughing and crying uncontrollably in the theater, while watching it.
My mother always told me and my siblings growing up to be distinguished at her funeral and not throw ourselves on her casket and embarrass her. When my Mother died I felt frustrated and in pain just like this and my sister whispered during the funeral mass, "who's going to jump on the casket and scream no, no! We all broke into laughter. We covered our mouths and laughter so hard we cried and one of my friends behind us just bawled thinking I was sobbing.
Love this, “ Hit this”. 😂😂😂😂
These ladies show good example of what good friends really stand for. Love these ladies. Great movie❤❤❤❤❤😊
I used to live very close to the little town this was filmed in. Every time I drove through this town, I thought about this scene and crack up laughing every time. This was an awesome assembly of actors, and Natchitoches was also a great character in the movie. Really great movie.
I'm never not going to love this movie. What great actors, each and every one of them.❤❤
I absolutely love this scene because it’s very original, but also shows how it’s really like when you lose someone you love, others will do anything to try and cheer you up, we know it doesn’t stop the suffering/grief but laughter and smiles always ease it a little bit.
I absolutely love this part!
it was shocking, empathetic, justified and funny as hell when it came out. to this day I wondered how many takes it took for this scene.? still funny. classy dames, hard working, hilarious actresses. absolute gold!
I loved this movie so much! 💕Especially how Sally Field acted the way a person really feels during the grieving process. I know it's just a movie, but I felt the same way after losing 2 sisters and 2 brothers in 10 years. Superb acting. 👍💯
One of my all time favorites! I just love all of those legendary ladies!❤️
I remember all these women together… AWESOME!!! Julia Roberts and the wonderful Dolly… These movie is a classic. A lot of Oscar winners and all deserved an Oscar for their performance in this movies.
Hands down best scene in any movie...from tears to laughter in a second
I can never watch the scene without crying and laughing. This is just perfect.
Probably one of the saddest and funniest moments in movie history. That whole cast was amazing!! Great movie! “Are you high, Clare?!”
All mothers and fathers identify with Sallys imotions here. Its a nightmare all parents fear and some have lived. Unfortunately!
This is why we cry with her! Great movie!
I love this scene! I watched this and said, one day I will be able to break the tension like this. I thought, that's a friend, unconventional but a true friend.
Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion
When she told her to hit the other lady, it was funny 😂😂😂
One of the best movies, I cried like a baby when I 1st saw this movie growing up
I remember I was a child when I saw this scene and I thought It was a master class. I was crying and suddenly I was Laughing... Great performances
This is probably my favourite scene of any movie. It gets me every time.
“We’ll sell Tshirts saying I slapped Ouiser Boudreaux!” 😂
This scene, when shes exhaustingly reading to Shelby and then when she sees her grandson Jackson after Shelby passes are just true mom/grandma/friend scenes so well done by Sally. So heartbreaking 💔
“We’ll make t-shirts that say I slapped Louisa……Louisa this is your chance to do something for your fellow man!”😂
Love this scene Chick A Pin Parish? This movie really takes you through every emotion in the rainbow. This scene is a real rollercoaster! One of the best movies I've ever seen. All the actors were perfectly cast and the acting was superb!
“Knock her lights out “ 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂 😅😅
Sally Field is my favorite actress of all time. She’s so versatile and her performances are so believable.
But sadly she is underrated.
Love Olympia Dukakis, always have. There’s always a depth in her approach that’s just hinted at that unfolds with subtlety and humor.
This cast was excellent acting at its best!! Finest actors all out into this movie!
"You are a Pig from hell." Love, love , love this movie ❤❤
This scene had me crying on the floor then flipped me over laughing. Brilliant text and acting
My favourite scene of ANY movie! Just love the emotions!
