@@Max-yz8ib Actually It just means they are foreign to the US/non-citizen status. It's a common misconception. Aliens is not a term that is used anymore. Just resident and non resident. Permanent Residents are citizens from another country who have attained legal status to live in the US. Once someone attains a permanent resident card it is good for 10 years. After Which they have to apply for a renewal. That said, some useless trivia for you..;) In New York City the Commission on Human Rights released new legal enforcement guidelines that ban the use of the term “illegal alien” by employers, housing providers (including hotels), and law enforcement as “discriminatory.” Violators can be punished with exorbitant and punitive fines-up to $250,000 per offense. They want it replaced with a euphemism, the term “undocumented immigrant,” Undocumented still means they are illegally in the country but without the dehumanizing term of "alien"

@AmericanPowerBase I was 19 when they instituted the draft. If I were a man and not in college, I would have gone to Viet Nam, my birthday was #3. So I wasn't all that happy about the war either. But it wasn't the war protesters that defeated the USA, it was the Viet Cong....in their home court. Viet Nam was hot, humid and mostly jungle. And the Viet Cong were particularly vicious. Like I said, in over our heads.
