Nothing better than getting a project running properly. My wife hates it when I take a project on because I never come in the house till it’s done lol. This is the kind of videos that you need to do in between your riding. 👍
Unfortunately, I remember when these were still being sold new!(😭) Late 60’s ish. That could very well be a 70 🤷♂️ Good ‘ol Rotax!! Love your vids, even if you do ride a kitty Kat! 😂
I know the feeling of satisfaction when you put a bunch of energy and money into something and it works. I’m excited to see that old girl riding on snow. I’ve never seen an engine rebuild before so that was cool to see. I know you shortened it up a lot but it didn’t look super complicated. Awesome. Loved that video.
Shes smashing gas and makin smoke again!!!! man the ole sled sounds so good!! Cant wait to see more of it Matt! if i come across any parts or parts machines i will send a msg. I am from Alberta here so i can keep an eye out, still lots of old machines kickin around out there. I watch every video you put up man, great stuff. i love doing research on old sleds and matching up parts that work so if i come across anything ill let you guys know. 👍
Love these videos man! I grew up riding that age ski doos and it brings back memories. Those Alpines were used to pull fish houses on and off the lake. Not portable fish houses either. Stick built .
Based on the banding on the hood, I think this is a 1971 Alpine. These were very popular trapping and ice fishing sleds in their day. Does it have a valmont logo on it?
You should find a skidoo elite! 2 person side by side sled, one of a kind!
It's always a good day when you're old stuff doesn't skip a beat and fires right up.
Yeah! It feels so good! 😎

You got that right! I'm gonna keep a project going AT ALL TIMES, moving forward :)

Yea, that's the great thing about an air-cooled two stroke. They're sooo easy 😄
That’s awesome bud, great to see a guy keep history running instead of of just being yard art!!!
Wow sounds great

Thank you!
For sure let me know if you come across something. Moving forward, I want to just keep a project sled on the go at all times! :)
That’s so cool to see it run again. It put a Smile on my face too Brother. Great Job 👍👍👍
😃
Awesome can't wait to see ya ripping it
What you have there is a 1971 valemont ski-doo
Nothing like the first fire after a rebuild! Old air/fan cooled engines are so easy to work on, makes we want to get another old sled.
Something air cooled is fun for just rippin around. Not having to worry about enough snow or overheats. 👍

I'm gonna make it tow again:D
Nice sied love it. Go for it
Runs like a top! Can’t wait to see it out on the snow. Gotta love what happens with good compression 😅
Yeah. It ends up running good. Lol
There are still quite a few Alpines running around in Alaska…they are old school cool!
My first sled was a 71 single cylinder Olympic. A little WD40 in the carb and would start first pull every time.
That's awesome 😎😎😎😎!!!!!
love the old sleds, to be afraid to make the episodes on this bad boy longer lol
I'll have to take it out to do that :D
Sounds better than a boost! :D
More sled videos. Hell yeah
Btw when are you bringing the podcast back. I enjoyed those while trucking
I think there is one coming soon that might be a lit of fun!
Good ol reliable
When we getting the work done on old whitie
Dunno. It needs reeds. Which I've had forever. Its currently the sled without a purpose!
@@syxxes I have a 2015 153 m8000 love all the tips and tricks on them love those work videos
The hood looks very similar to a 73 Elan I have
Oil on piston rings and cylinder?
You should of installed intake manifold and snugged it up before torqueing heads. It aligns the cyl. to the manifold.

It's been painted with some vody work done at some point in it's life. So unfortunately no stickers remain 😢
@@syxxes check the video link I posted.
Hopefully you did crank seals. I’m currently watching video. So fingers crossed haha!
Ok finished watching. I suggest crank seals. It leaned one cylinder so that screams vacuum leak.
It's probably a 1971 Ski-doo Valmont 640ER
It was a 399. Now its- something else around 400. I'm just gonna call it the 420 😎
@@syxxes that's a awesome name
👍👍👍
So what cc 377?
Next video twin pipes with stingers lol
Hell yeah! Lol
Do a wrap!lol
I want to trade my g4 for the alpine, sure runs like a ski-doo!!!
After some quick google searches looks like a 1970’s skidoo elan?
Elan only had one track, but in peraon the alpines just look like a HUGE elan
i have 2 mod vintage skidoo lets go try it !!! i am in Carstairs let me know
Looks like a 74
Get that baby running and use it in your snowmobile videos when you go camping
That was the plan with it actually lol
