I always figured that there would be something more to Conquerors Haki, because all the Top Tier characters were so frightened when Luffy subconsciously did it in Marineford, but why would they be scared for something that wouldn't even affect them? So I just figured there would be more to it tbh, and now we know.
I think there is more to advanced conqueror's haki because when luffy is using it then it is not doing as much damage as when Roger used it on Oden or when Kaido used it to one shot luffy.

Actually the building blocks for G2 started when the crew got stomped by Aokiji, after that Luffy said to himself that he needs to get stronger and since Oda confirmed the crew actually trains on the ship it was a hint that it would be strength that would go beyond what he could achieve with training alone.
"Let the haki flow" is the key to ALL advanced haki types. Luffy's best haki has always been conquerer's so it really seems like he had all the pieces already
This is exactly how I see it. The whole thing hyogoro was teaching luffy was to let the haki flow from him into his enemies, thus destroying them from inside. I just see advanced conquerors as letting that haki flow through.
Yeah he already had strong conquerors haki the only thing he needed was how to apply it, and the concept of ryou was the nudge which made him connect the two together

The whole reason we don't know much about haki is because Oda wants to do as he sees fit and to keep expanding it. Haki needs to be vague so that he can just come up with crazy ideas and not break the whole system.
Even though we don't know alot about Haki, we do know that One piece is all about will. The more you want something, the stronger you get. And if two people are fighting, the one with more will, will always win. That is what we were seing all throughout the series. I think Haki is deeply connected to the will of someone, because everybody that got Haki, learned it because of his believes, or through sheer will. Akainu knows that and this is why he is so devestading. He has very strong believes and a strong will and whenever he feels, that somebody has a stronger will than himself, he doesn't try to fight the person headon, but rather weakens their will. You saw that at marieneford. Whitebeard was much stronger than him, so what does he believe in? Whitebeard believes in his family. Knowing this Akainu tried to challenge Whitebeards believes. The next step would be finding someone in Whitebeards family, that had a very weak will and he went for Squard. Akainu thought, that if he could successfully manipulate Squard into attacking Whitebeard, that it would weaken Whitebeards will and therefore his Haki. The problem for Akainu was, that Whitebeard knew about this too. Because even though Squard was successfully manipulated into attacking Whitebeard, Whitebeard simply stuck by his believes and pulled Squard back on his side. The ironic thing in this is, that even though Whitebeard survived alot of assault during the war, he died by the hands of one of his other sons Blackbeard. You can see the same thing with Luffy. Luffys number one goal was to free his brother ace and his will got strong enough to the point were he unlocked conqueror haki to save his life. Ace got free and once again Akainu challanged his will by making fun of Whitebeard. Then, when he got Aces attention, he attacked Luffy, because he knew that if he attacked Ace himself, he would probably get away. But it would go against Aces believes to let his younger brother die. And when Ace died the will of Luffy got so crushed, that he fainted on the spot. Its the same with Big Mom and the picture of mother caramel. Many people think that it is weird that Luffy can go toe to toe with Kaido, but with the powersystem of will in mind, it is not weird at all. Luffy has ambitions, he wants to be the strongest pirate, he wants revenge for the minks and he wants to free the land of wano. If he manages to take down Kaido, he makes a huge jump towards all his goals. Kaido on the other hand simply doesn't want to lose his power, but he was trying to take his own life before, his only daughter hates him and he is drowning his sorrow with alcohol.
Hygoro also said that the advanced conqueror's blossoms when one is pushed to the corner . That might have been a reason for luffy to figure it out as he knew that he is the last defense now that zoro is broken and kidd is busy with big mom .
Very interesting how luffy being from the D clan is a "natural enemy of the gods" Zoro with ashura as you said means "anti-god" And sanji with diable jambe catering to that he holds the power of the devil which is the antithesis of god.

(Imo) Ryou is the flow of armament haki. The ability to send haki off like a projectile. Luffy gained control of armament malleability and therefore understands how to coat his attacks with Conquerors' Haki. He already knows how to coat himself with armament and how to use Conquer (as a projectile), so it made sense how fast he learned how to use Conquerors Coating.
Conquerer coating is basicaly using king's haki as if it was armament haki, maybe doing the same with observation haki is what shanks do, shanks king's haki nulifies observation haki, so maybe using king's haki energy instead of normal observation haki, maybe that's what shanks do to avoid observation haki.
Those were just ideas oda was still figuring out, doubt that was what Oda had planned as conquerors haki by then but it was probably what he used as a basis to the design fo haki overall
I think a lot of people forget that Zoro is one of the earliest characters to display even the basics of Haki back during his fight with Daz Bones. Where we see Zoro use just the barest beginnings of armament Haki to cut steel, but the amazing thing is that without any prior knowledge of it even existing he pulled it out with pure skill. Which is what I believe we are seeing with Asura.

I still consider that Zoro's been unconsciously using Haoshoku all this time (yes, even before the timeskip) and that it has been hinted at numerous times: Dragon Quake vs Monet and the Gamblers in Wano, intimidating random fodder (also the Yokozuna) with only a glance etc.
Using another comment as reference, one watcher referred to how letting haki flow was the key to every kind of advanced technique which made it all click in my mind. The way haki works is that the more freely a user can use it, the more advanced and powerful they are. This ties in with the themes of one piece on top of making the system unique. The more free a man is the more powerful. It’s so simply tied together but it’s ridiculously complex.
Hyogoro did mention at the labour camp that Luffy's form of Ryo was more advanced than what he could teach Luffy (and what is commonly known as Ryo), I think this was because Luffy was actually and unknowingly adding Conquerors Haki to his Ryo when practising but his mindset was on achieving Ryo with just armament so he wasn't actively infusing his attacks with Conquerors hence it not being as potent as when he started using it on the rooftop. Luffy realizing and immediately grasping the concept of infusing conquerors in his Ryo after Kaidos attack must have been because he had already been unknowingly practising his Ryo with some conquerors all this time, hence his Ryo being different from typical Ryo right from the start.
That's..... not really what he said. Hyogoro simply stated that Luffy was already capable of using the highest form of armament haki: Projection with internal destruction. He said this after witnessing Luffy break the slave collars like Rayleigh did in the flashback. The training was simply to get Luffy to use Projection and Projection with Internal destruction consistently on command.
Oda needs to sit down and give us a chapter full of text walls of nothing but info dump a la Togashi to explain everything about Haki types and the advancements lol.

I hope this never happens. Exposition dumps are easily the worst aspect about HunterXHunter by far and always occur when Togashi can't think of a clever way to integrate the information. I much prefer Oda's method of simply showing us things in action, maybe with a brief explanation, rather than 19 paragraphs of pure text. Most of the stuff regarding haki has been explained anyway. The only thing we need clarification on is Conqueror's and where stuff like "the voice of all things" fit in.
Mihawk probably sensed that Zoro also had advanced conqueror’s during their first battle that’s why he spared his life so as not to waste his potential
Arnament Haki is something that covers the body with a layer. Ryuo Haki is something that pierces the inside of that Layer Conqueror Coat is something that covers the body while pierces through the enemies coat or defense is what i think. Its like the maxed level Arnament Haki
I believe the space indicating they aren’t touching is the barrier aspect of the advanced armament, I don’t think you can see internal destruction. I think the conquerors is indicated by the thick lightning streaks as opposed to the thin ones we generally see in normal haki clashes. I think conquerors can serve to be a huge damage boost(or defense like big mom hypothetically) that only a select few can access.
But that's just the requirement to start treading in top tier territory there's still a big ass difference between luffy and the rest of top tiers next chapter you'll be enlightened

While I'm not here to nit-pick, I feel that it is important that what you say is taken into consideration with a grain of salt in how you vet factual information. Pointing out this statement, "Luffy is not only doing Ryou, but also coating his attacks in Conqueror's haki..." This is simply saying he's doing these two things at once, however, this is not yet confirmed. We can only grasp what we see from the manga chapter, which doesn't not quite depict this...yet. It is neither declared or explained. Much like the "Zoro, has Conqueror's Haki CONFIRMED" videos from other youtubers. Kaido asked in a form of a question, which he himself does not know for sure, and neither does Zoro. Sure, he left a little prickle on Kaido, but that's no explanation of what reallly happened. I think US as viewers and readers need to look at these small details with a bit more scrutiny. Again, Thank you for the content as always.
If Kidd learns how to use CoC attacks in step by step compared to Luffy, it may feel much refreshing. Also, if Zoro starts to ask himself questions, it will also help us in clearing that side. Zoro sometimes have that monologue before attacking. Also, I don't think diable jambe is CoC. I am not against Sanji having CoC, but I don't think we will see him unlocking it. If anything we may see Sanji using it in epilogue or so(if he have it) when Coby becomes admiral and all.

If they had Advance conquers 1 wouldve been more than enough and akainu would have been able to brush off whitebeards gura punch it wouldn't have been a threat to him the only way admirals stands a chance of being comparable to a yonko is their awakening that is what places them there they have to really push themselves because they don't have what is truly required to be a true top tier only garp and sengoku are. I might be over simplifying things but to a fairly casual watcher like myself it makes total sense. Ryo is all about the flow of haki, to manipulate it and extend it basically outside the body, hence no touch fighting. The knockout blast from conquerors is just the expulsion of haki and willpower out of the body in my mind to overwhelm opponents. So it seems like a pretty easy jump to be able to expel conquerors the same way you use ryo and get the results that luffy was demonstrating. The rarity of the ability then is more so that it takes someone who both knows Ryo and has conquerors plus has the idea to combine the two techniques.
Luffy has a history of seeing technichs and quickly incorporating them into his fighting style. For example in his fight with Donflamingo he uses the technique that Bellamy use against him earlier

I think the way Oda writes his story, he doesnt allow you easily to form conclusion of how things work, he leaves room for evelopment and makes it unique to each character and only transfers the “low level” skills that can be trained by anyone. Like katakuri future sight even tho luffy developed some of that ability, it still very different (but i believe the king of pirates will suprass that) gotta love one piece
I like to see Ryuo as an internal based attack compared to Advanced Conqueror being an outward projection. Basically, Ryuo allows you to bypass defense/armor and make what would be an external attack hit internally. Kinda like what Killer did to Kaido to hurt him. Advanced Conqueror is just outwardly projecting your attacks to where you need not make contact. Which would allow you to punch the air and technically "miss" a logia but still nullify their intangibility and damage them.
Luffy picking up how to use conquerors so quickly is very similar to how he learned to use shave back in enies lobby when he noticed that cp9 was just moving their feet a few dozen times a second.
I don't think people would have to much of a problem with that under a couple circumstances ONLY. 1-Kia D-O didn't straight up say only a few of the strongest can use it 2- if kiado is playing with luffy like a new toy and not being serious with him Ie his conquers could easily overwhelm luffys just like katakuri did with armament. Basically has long as it's not a super powered super sayian like ability or luffy needs to grow it drastically to get on Kia D-Os level like how his obs haki is still a fraction of katakuris.
The way I see it, its like Chi. You can expel chi from your body, essentially expressing your will or you can condense it into your body like coating your attacks with it. Its a bit vague but its more from how Taoism depicts the soul and energy and how freely it can flow to and from the body.

And yeah this seems like Oda is explaining Ashura to us for the first time. He's not inventing new demon powers or anything. Everything comes back to haki.

biggest thing i can say about this, Oda has already been setting up luffy as the most fluid conquerors haki user, so it makes sense for him to just pick up on conqueror type attacks pretty fast. I mean he had been instinctually using conquerors for like over 100 chapters at one point, which we rarely see any other character instinctually use to begin with, let alone multiple times spanning a couple arches. also the training for advanced armament was training in fluid control of your haki outside of your body, forcing your will into an attack, which gave luffy the stepping stones in order to apply that concept to his conquerors, which was already an invisible area of effect aura attack from the users will.
Even if zoro doesn’t get back up sanji and Marco should be able to take down king and queen. Also ussop chopper and franky don’t have match ups either so they can still take someone on
The explanation I came up with for the black lighting was maybe conquerors haki leaks out when fighting an intense fight or when fighting someone else that has it
I wonder if the three haki can mix, considering Armament and Conqueror can what with Big Mom and Luffy showcasing that (Kaido doesn't apply armament to his Kanabo). Arm coated with Conqueror allows for piercing hits through armor and probably can avoid direct contact with Logia users like Akainu. Something like Armament and Observation makes 'Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist' [One Punch Man] where all incoming attacks can be redirected flawlessly at opponents.
I think I figured how Conquerors is gonna combine with Observation. I was thinking how would Shanks deal with Luffy if Luffy coats in Conquerors and unleashes Snakeman, even Snakeman was too fast for Katakuri to predict accurately, then it hit me, Conquerors+Observation = Time slowing down. Shanks can enter a zone where time is slower for him, it would also make sense how he was able to get into Marineford undetected and block Akainu’s attempt on Koby’s life.
Actually what I think is There are 4 levels to CoA : 1. Coated but without black 2. Coated but hand becomes black 3. Ryou (pushing someone backward) 4. Internal destruction (which is the highest level) When roger and WB fought they used CoO , and CoA and CoC in their swords and arms That's what caused the no touching thing but I think the no touching can also happen with just CoC Luffy and kaido were using all types too BM always coats herself in it which is why she started getting injured when emotional and out of control back in WCI Luffy needs to find a way to infuse both CoC and internal destruction CoA to beat kaido But I think luffy will awaken his df by the end of wano cos : My theory : onigashima is in the air , and if/when he beats kaido , the island will fall and what if he makes the entire island rubber due to df awakening and It saves them from the impact of an island falling down??? I mean.....they do need to solve that problem later on too It's a really high stakes game here
I say if we to look back to his reflection with Rayleigh. He has been contemplating that technique since then, and with more information, I think he finally figured it out. I think that’s what he meant by finally figured it out
I usually take the lightning that happens when Armament Haki clashes as a loud noise. And Conquerors Haki, being so loud by default, generates lightning all the time because it is a shout. Don't forget that Conqueror's Haki was always used as a shout before one could control it. But even then it is still a shout, an internal one though. So, Black Haki lightning = Loud noises. Conqueror's Haki = loud shout = black Haki lightning by default.
The how he infuses Coc comes from him harnessing the concepts of Advanced ryou. Remember reyleigh explaining that there is no training that can be offered for Coc other than the user figuring things out during battle.
i think that was all basics. Basic Armament and conquerers.. used simultaneously. Conquerers to make them sleep The punch made shockwave that blow them away while in weak state.
I like this. There’s a difference. Sometimes when 2 conqueror’s fight each other, other people can’t stand near it without a strong will because when they get really riled up, the conqueror’s Haki leaks out of them on full blast. Everyone around is affected. It’s not powering their abilities; rather, it’s them just adding oomph to a clash. There was no indication that those particular hits were actually stronger. Before 1010, we’ve only seen CoC Haki used as a flex to knock out fodder or something that gets unleashed when you’re really fired up about something (ie your will is strong and you’re passionate about what you’re fighting for).
this is just the result of two CoC users clashing and not related to armament coating.This can also be done willingly when Katakuri and Luffy clashed with their CoC, knowing it would result in everyone around them getting knocked out.
TLDR; He uses Ryle to coats his attacks with conquerors haki instead of armament haki. (He doesn’t mix both BTW) RYOU;The flow of haki outside of the body which creates distance. Advance RYOU; The flow of haki outside the body into Another to do internal damage . Advance RYOU + Conquerors allowed to do a lot of damage to kaido internally.
So conquerors haki is like an amplifier ,whatever you have in store gets basically stronger. It works like Kaioken and with a similar color I see where ist origin lies.
I can't think of any major cons. Haki re-balances the Devil Fruit system due to so many people in the new world having at least basic armament. Logias were brought down to be more in line with other DF users while Zoans/Paramecias get some extra buffs due to often increasing the offense/defense of their users directly.

I think the current opening of One Piece where Luffy is in the water clinching his fist is foreshadowing to what may happen in the manga. Based on the 1013 spoilers, Luffy gets knocked in the water apparently. So who is going to save him? Maybe Momo cause he can sense everything and maybe he could get one of the Koi fish to save him or he telepathically tells someone to save him. I could also see Luffy getting the koi fish to save him as well but I think it would be more so Luffy being able to overcome the sea prism in the ocean because we have seen Luffy countless times train and overcome sea prism and his unwavering will would help him to conquer the sea prism. For example when he got knocked out by Kaido but was still exuding so much Conqueror’s Haki. That will to keep on fighting and never give up will wake him up under water and he will over come the ocean 🤷🏾♂️…
@Luffy-zoro Unstoppable Their is a thing called paying attention to the story. Luffy has lost the 1st and 2nd rounds before to his previous enemies multiple times and came out winning in the end. He's literally always been outclassed when it came to major enemies. He lost to Crocodile twice before he beat him for the 3rd round. Zoro didn't doubt Luffy would win, same with Sanji, and if you know One Piece when Luffy says he's gonna do something he does it. He's gotten help this whole time against Kaido, he will get some more for a moment, but Luffy's gonna challenge him again alone and win. What Kaido said needs to be noted. Kaido said "That way noone would have believed that you could win." This statement implies Luffy did win or was about to win, and Kaido made a dirty move to KO him. We don't know exactly how it happened because the fight was off screen, and maybe that way for a valid reason, but what Kaido said needs heavy consideration.
I think Oda foreshadowed CoC properly, yes Luffy clashed with some CoC users before and the black lightning was there, but none of them could use it like Kaido does, Katakuri could use some form of Ryou and that's why he was able to hurt Luffy's hands like that, but still he wasn't able to coat his attacks with CoC
Could be that those with conquers Haki are more common but actually welding it purposefully is rare. Katakuri could of had conquers but it only comes rarely and never on purpose. If / When he steps up to become captain of the Big Mom Pirates he could get a boost and actually unlock it for sure.
My thought is black swords are coated black permanently is the effect of conqueror haki flowing into the sword itself which is the same as being able to permanently scar to someone with conqueror haki. Maybe it's causing effect to "The Soul" of things that it's flowing in.
Before watching this video I will say my thoughts. I consider what luffy is doing to be the principles of advanced armament applied with conquerors. I think advanced conquerors haki is an entirely different concept we will explore in later arcs (elbaf or shanks) and it will be the ability to completely exercise your will on someone, possibly without them even knowing
my theory: conqueror haki affect your will itself. When you coat yourself to it, your coating your will itself onto your hands, and attacks the other opponents will or body, thats why it isnt touching because it coated on will, and will/spirit is invisible. Advanced armament is just flowing your haki into something, but advanced king is coating in your spirit/will, and attacking the other opponent will/spirit/body? So which means advanced kings can attack the will or spirit itself. And to have stronger advanced kings, you have to have stronger will, and to have stronger will, you have to have stronger will of D, meaning to be always smiling even when you face death? On and advanced armament might work on big mom or whatever but might not work on kaido if he coat himself to advanced king, so his body is indestrucible due to his insane will And for those black lightning, i think it just a leakage of advanced king. Instead of coating, rather it leaking out of your body?
I think the way Morj describes it makes more sense. It's not that luffy is using both advanced armament and advanced conquer's it's just that advanced conqueror's is a direct replacement for advanced armament. Essentially advanced armament is just the people of wano replicating coating your attacks in conqueror's haki but it's much weaker. That's why the top tiers like Kaido and big mom don't know about it because they never needed to learn it. To me personally it doesn't make sense for the top tiers like Kaido and big mom to not know about advanced armament if it actually enhanced their attacks even further when combined with conqueror's. Especially someone like kaido who lived in wano. But it makes a lot more sense if they didn't know about it simply because they have no reason too.
I really hope the lurking legend that we haven't seen yet is a Haki Master that will explain everything about this power system. It is a good system, but can be better if explained further like how Nen was introduced to us.
The only reason people that have ryou don't use conquerors haki is simply because they don't have conquers haki. The physical experience of coating your attacks in ryou is the same as CoC. once luffy and zoro learned ryou, the application of CoC was almost instant once they witnesed another fighter doing it. I compare it to perfet pitch. I dont have perfect pitch but i have trained my relative pitch to the point where i can hear most notes and convice someone i have perfect pitch. Therefore I can compete with persons of perfect pitch but will never have that extra ability.
I think this was great discussion. My only comment is just that people shouldn't struggle so much trying to understand Luffy being able to apply Supreme King. I feel like that's Kaido's secret weapon and Luffy is now using it against him. In order for Straw Hat to win, its come down to strategy and confidence.
Dude Ryou is how they call Haki in Wano, or more precisely the flow of Haki, in this case armament Haki. But flowing armament results in shallow hits, they penetrate but not quite enough. When Luffy gets hit by Kaido he's like "oh I can make conquerors flow too sweet" , and flowing conquerors results in deeper hits and its what the outside world calls advanced conquerors. This is a story about the clash of 2 cultures and how they interpret something common to the world.
I always figured that there would be something more to Conquerors Haki, because all the Top Tier characters were so frightened when Luffy subconsciously did it in Marineford, but why would they be scared for something that wouldn't even affect them? So I just figured there would be more to it tbh, and now we know.

Actually the building blocks for G2 started when the crew got stomped by Aokiji, after that Luffy said to himself that he needs to get stronger and since Oda confirmed the crew actually trains on the ship it was a hint that it would be strength that would go beyond what he could achieve with training alone.
"Let the haki flow" is the key to ALL advanced haki types. Luffy's best haki has always been conquerer's so it really seems like he had all the pieces already

The whole reason we don't know much about haki is because Oda wants to do as he sees fit and to keep expanding it. Haki needs to be vague so that he can just come up with crazy ideas and not break the whole system.
Even though we don't know alot about Haki, we do know that One piece is all about will. The more you want something, the stronger you get. And if two people are fighting, the one with more will, will always win. That is what we were seing all throughout the series. I think Haki is deeply connected to the will of someone, because everybody that got Haki, learned it because of his believes, or through sheer will. Akainu knows that and this is why he is so devestading. He has very strong believes and a strong will and whenever he feels, that somebody has a stronger will than himself, he doesn't try to fight the person headon, but rather weakens their will. You saw that at marieneford. Whitebeard was much stronger than him, so what does he believe in? Whitebeard believes in his family. Knowing this Akainu tried to challenge Whitebeards believes. The next step would be finding someone in Whitebeards family, that had a very weak will and he went for Squard. Akainu thought, that if he could successfully manipulate Squard into attacking Whitebeard, that it would weaken Whitebeards will and therefore his Haki. The problem for Akainu was, that Whitebeard knew about this too. Because even though Squard was successfully manipulated into attacking Whitebeard, Whitebeard simply stuck by his believes and pulled Squard back on his side. The ironic thing in this is, that even though Whitebeard survived alot of assault during the war, he died by the hands of one of his other sons Blackbeard. You can see the same thing with Luffy. Luffys number one goal was to free his brother ace and his will got strong enough to the point were he unlocked conqueror haki to save his life. Ace got free and once again Akainu challanged his will by making fun of Whitebeard. Then, when he got Aces attention, he attacked Luffy, because he knew that if he attacked Ace himself, he would probably get away. But it would go against Aces believes to let his younger brother die. And when Ace died the will of Luffy got so crushed, that he fainted on the spot. Its the same with Big Mom and the picture of mother caramel.
Many people think that it is weird that Luffy can go toe to toe with Kaido, but with the powersystem of will in mind, it is not weird at all. Luffy has ambitions, he wants to be the strongest pirate, he wants revenge for the minks and he wants to free the land of wano. If he manages to take down Kaido, he makes a huge jump towards all his goals. Kaido on the other hand simply doesn't want to lose his power, but he was trying to take his own life before, his only daughter hates him and he is drowning his sorrow with alcohol.

(Imo) Ryou is the flow of armament haki. The ability to send haki off like a projectile. Luffy gained control of armament malleability and therefore understands how to coat his attacks with Conquerors' Haki. He already knows how to coat himself with armament and how to use Conquer (as a projectile), so it made sense how fast he learned how to use Conquerors Coating.
We all know Zoro was just being humble when Kaido asked if he had conquers.

Conquerer coating is basicaly using king's haki as if it was armament haki, maybe doing the same with observation haki is what shanks do, shanks king's haki nulifies observation haki, so maybe using king's haki energy instead of normal observation haki, maybe that's what shanks do to avoid observation haki.

I think a lot of people forget that Zoro is one of the earliest characters to display even the basics of Haki back during his fight with Daz Bones. Where we see Zoro use just the barest beginnings of armament Haki to cut steel, but the amazing thing is that without any prior knowledge of it even existing he pulled it out with pure skill. Which is what I believe we are seeing with Asura.

I still consider that Zoro's been unconsciously using Haoshoku all this time (yes, even before the timeskip) and that it has been hinted at numerous times: Dragon Quake vs Monet and the Gamblers in Wano, intimidating random fodder (also the Yokozuna) with only a glance etc.

Using another comment as reference, one watcher referred to how letting haki flow was the key to every kind of advanced technique which made it all click in my mind. The way haki works is that the more freely a user can use it, the more advanced and powerful they are. This ties in with the themes of one piece on top of making the system unique. The more free a man is the more powerful. It’s so simply tied together but it’s ridiculously complex.
Hyogoro did mention at the labour camp that Luffy's form of Ryo was more advanced than what he could teach Luffy (and what is commonly known as Ryo), I think this was because Luffy was actually and unknowingly adding Conquerors Haki to his Ryo when practising but his mindset was on achieving Ryo with just armament so he wasn't actively infusing his attacks with Conquerors hence it not being as potent as when he started using it on the rooftop. Luffy realizing and immediately grasping the concept of infusing conquerors in his Ryo after Kaidos attack must have been because he had already been unknowingly practising his Ryo with some conquerors all this time, hence his Ryo being different from typical Ryo right from the start.
That's..... not really what he said. Hyogoro simply stated that Luffy was already capable of using the highest form of armament haki: Projection with internal destruction. He said this after witnessing Luffy break the slave collars like Rayleigh did in the flashback. The training was simply to get Luffy to use Projection and Projection with Internal destruction consistently on command.
Its ryuo. Its not pronounced ryo its pronounced ryu-o. Ryu then o. Its crazy how miss-information can be spread and never questioned.
Oda needs to sit down and give us a chapter full of text walls of nothing but info dump a la Togashi to explain everything about Haki types and the advancements lol.
FACTS! I been waiting to learn more about swords grades, swordsmenship and who has the different blade grades while we been in Wano. So much that need to be fleshed out.
Hopefully he does this at some point, but I also like the mystery of it all. Whatever isn't revealed in the story should be after the story though.
I hope this never happens. Exposition dumps are easily the worst aspect about HunterXHunter by far and always occur when Togashi can't think of a clever way to integrate the information. I much prefer Oda's method of simply showing us things in action, maybe with a brief explanation, rather than 19 paragraphs of pure text. Most of the stuff regarding haki has been explained anyway. The only thing we need clarification on is Conqueror's and where stuff like "the voice of all things" fit in.
Mihawk probably sensed that Zoro also had advanced conqueror’s during their first battle that’s why he spared his life so as not to waste his potential
Arnament Haki is something that covers the body with a layer.
Ryuo Haki is something that pierces the inside of that Layer
Conqueror Coat is something that covers the body while pierces through the enemies coat or defense is what i think. Its like the maxed level Arnament Haki

I believe the space indicating they aren’t touching is the barrier aspect of the advanced armament, I don’t think you can see internal destruction. I think the conquerors is indicated by the thick lightning streaks as opposed to the thin ones we generally see in normal haki clashes. I think conquerors can serve to be a huge damage boost(or defense like big mom hypothetically) that only a select few can access.
But that's just the requirement to start treading in top tier territory there's still a big ass difference between luffy and the rest of top tiers next chapter you'll be enlightened

This is simply saying he's doing these two things at once, however, this is not yet confirmed. We can only grasp what we see from the manga chapter, which doesn't not quite depict this...yet. It is neither declared or explained.
Much like the "Zoro, has Conqueror's Haki CONFIRMED" videos from other youtubers. Kaido asked in a form of a question, which he himself does not know for sure, and neither does Zoro. Sure, he left a little prickle on Kaido, but that's no explanation of what reallly happened. I think US as viewers and readers need to look at these small details with a bit more scrutiny.

If Kidd learns how to use CoC attacks in step by step compared to Luffy, it may feel much refreshing. Also, if Zoro starts to ask himself questions, it will also help us in clearing that side. Zoro sometimes have that monologue before attacking. Also, I don't think diable jambe is CoC. I am not against Sanji having CoC, but I don't think we will see him unlocking it. If anything we may see Sanji using it in epilogue or so(if he have it) when Coby becomes admiral and all.
Sanji has to fight against admirals the only way a non Devil fruit user can fight against top tiers is through advance conquers

I might be over simplifying things but to a fairly casual watcher like myself it makes total sense. Ryo is all about the flow of haki, to manipulate it and extend it basically outside the body, hence no touch fighting. The knockout blast from conquerors is just the expulsion of haki and willpower out of the body in my mind to overwhelm opponents. So it seems like a pretty easy jump to be able to expel conquerors the same way you use ryo and get the results that luffy was demonstrating. The rarity of the ability then is more so that it takes someone who both knows Ryo and has conquerors plus has the idea to combine the two techniques.

I think the way Oda writes his story, he doesnt allow you easily to form conclusion of how things work, he leaves room for evelopment and makes it unique to each character and only transfers the “low level” skills that can be trained by anyone. Like katakuri future sight even tho luffy developed some of that ability, it still very different (but i believe the king of pirates will suprass that) gotta love one piece

I like to see Ryuo as an internal based attack compared to Advanced Conqueror being an outward projection. Basically, Ryuo allows you to bypass defense/armor and make what would be an external attack hit internally. Kinda like what Killer did to Kaido to hurt him. Advanced Conqueror is just outwardly projecting your attacks to where you need not make contact. Which would allow you to punch the air and technically "miss" a logia but still nullify their intangibility and damage them.
Luffy picking up how to use conquerors so quickly is very similar to how he learned to use shave back in enies lobby when he noticed that cp9 was just moving their feet a few dozen times a second.
I don't think people would have to much of a problem with that under a couple circumstances ONLY.
1-Kia D-O didn't straight up say only a few of the strongest can use it
2- if kiado is playing with luffy like a new toy and not being serious with him
Ie his conquers could easily overwhelm luffys just like katakuri did with armament.

The way I see it, its like Chi. You can expel chi from your body, essentially expressing your will or you can condense it into your body like coating your attacks with it. Its a bit vague but its more from how Taoism depicts the soul and energy and how freely it can flow to and from the body.

And yeah this seems like Oda is explaining Ashura to us for the first time. He's not inventing new demon powers or anything. Everything comes back to haki.

biggest thing i can say about this, Oda has already been setting up luffy as the most fluid conquerors haki user, so it makes sense for him to just pick up on conqueror type attacks pretty fast. I mean he had been instinctually using conquerors for like over 100 chapters at one point, which we rarely see any other character instinctually use to begin with, let alone multiple times spanning a couple arches. also the training for advanced armament was training in fluid control of your haki outside of your body, forcing your will into an attack, which gave luffy the stepping stones in order to apply that concept to his conquerors, which was already an invisible area of effect aura attack from the users will.

The explanation I came up with for the black lighting was maybe conquerors haki leaks out when fighting an intense fight or when fighting someone else that has it

Arm coated with Conqueror allows for piercing hits through armor and probably can avoid direct contact with Logia users like Akainu.
Something like Armament and Observation makes 'Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist' [One Punch Man] where all incoming attacks can be redirected flawlessly at opponents.

I think I figured how Conquerors is gonna combine with Observation. I was thinking how would Shanks deal with Luffy if Luffy coats in Conquerors and unleashes Snakeman, even Snakeman was too fast for Katakuri to predict accurately, then it hit me, Conquerors+Observation = Time slowing down. Shanks can enter a zone where time is slower for him, it would also make sense how he was able to get into Marineford undetected and block Akainu’s attempt on Koby’s life.

Actually what I think is
There are 4 levels to CoA :
1. Coated but without black
2. Coated but hand becomes black
3. Ryou (pushing someone backward)
4. Internal destruction (which is the highest level)
When roger and WB fought they used CoO ,
and CoA and CoC in their swords and arms
That's what caused the no touching thing but I think the no touching can also happen with just CoC
Luffy and kaido were using all types too
BM always coats herself in it which is why she started getting injured when emotional and out of control back in WCI
Luffy needs to find a way to infuse both CoC and internal destruction CoA to beat kaido
But I think luffy will awaken his df by the end of wano cos :
My theory : onigashima is in the air , and if/when he beats kaido , the island will fall and what if he makes the entire island rubber due to df awakening and It saves them from the impact of an island falling down???
I mean.....they do need to solve that problem later on too

I usually take the lightning that happens when Armament Haki clashes as a loud noise. And Conquerors Haki, being so loud by default, generates lightning all the time because it is a shout. Don't forget that Conqueror's Haki was always used as a shout before one could control it. But even then it is still a shout, an internal one though.
So,
Black Haki lightning = Loud noises.
Conqueror's Haki = loud shout = black Haki lightning by default.
The how he infuses Coc comes from him harnessing the concepts of Advanced ryou. Remember reyleigh explaining that there is no training that can be offered for Coc other than the user figuring things out during battle.

I like this. There’s a difference. Sometimes when 2 conqueror’s fight each other, other people can’t stand near it without a strong will because when they get really riled up, the conqueror’s Haki leaks out of them on full blast. Everyone around is affected. It’s not powering their abilities; rather, it’s them just adding oomph to a clash. There was no indication that those particular hits were actually stronger. Before 1010, we’ve only seen CoC Haki used as a flex to knock out fodder or something that gets unleashed when you’re really fired up about something (ie your will is strong and you’re passionate about what you’re fighting for).
I think it only happens when 2 ppl with Conquers clash with basic armament haki
this is just the result of two CoC users clashing and not related to armament coating.This can also be done willingly when Katakuri and Luffy clashed with their CoC, knowing it would result in everyone around them getting knocked out.
TLDR; He uses Ryle to coats his attacks with conquerors haki instead of armament haki. (He doesn’t mix both BTW)
RYOU;The flow of haki outside of the body which creates distance.
Advance RYOU; The flow of haki outside the body into Another to do internal damage .
Advance RYOU + Conquerors allowed to do a lot of damage to kaido internally.

I can't think of any major cons. Haki re-balances the Devil Fruit system due to so many people in the new world having at least basic armament. Logias were brought down to be more in line with other DF users while Zoans/Paramecias get some extra buffs due to often increasing the offense/defense of their users directly.
I always assume Asura and the dark aura that surrounds him will have some connection to the ‘dark’ in the title ‘dark king’

I think the current opening of One Piece where Luffy is in the water clinching his fist is foreshadowing to what may happen in the manga. Based on the 1013 spoilers, Luffy gets knocked in the water apparently. So who is going to save him? Maybe Momo cause he can sense everything and maybe he could get one of the Koi fish to save him or he telepathically tells someone to save him. I could also see Luffy getting the koi fish to save him as well but I think it would be more so Luffy being able to overcome the sea prism in the ocean because we have seen Luffy countless times train and overcome sea prism and his unwavering will would help him to conquer the sea prism. For example when he got knocked out by Kaido but was still exuding so much Conqueror’s Haki. That will to keep on fighting and never give up will wake him up under water and he will over come the ocean 🤷🏾♂️…

@Luffy-zoro Unstoppable Their is a thing called paying attention to the story. Luffy has lost the 1st and 2nd rounds before to his previous enemies multiple times and came out winning in the end. He's literally always been outclassed when it came to major enemies. He lost to Crocodile twice before he beat him for the 3rd round. Zoro didn't doubt Luffy would win, same with Sanji, and if you know One Piece when Luffy says he's gonna do something he does it. He's gotten help this whole time against Kaido, he will get some more for a moment, but Luffy's gonna challenge him again alone and win. What Kaido said needs to be noted. Kaido said "That way noone would have believed that you could win." This statement implies Luffy did win or was about to win, and Kaido made a dirty move to KO him. We don't know exactly how it happened because the fight was off screen, and maybe that way for a valid reason, but what Kaido said needs heavy consideration.

I think Oda foreshadowed CoC properly, yes Luffy clashed with some CoC users before and the black lightning was there, but none of them could use it like Kaido does, Katakuri could use some form of Ryou and that's why he was able to hurt Luffy's hands like that, but still he wasn't able to coat his attacks with CoC

Could be that those with conquers Haki are more common but actually welding it purposefully is rare. Katakuri could of had conquers but it only comes rarely and never on purpose. If / When he steps up to become captain of the Big Mom Pirates he could get a boost and actually unlock it for sure.
My thought is black swords are coated black permanently is the effect of conqueror haki flowing into the sword itself which is the same as being able to permanently scar to someone with conqueror haki. Maybe it's causing effect to "The Soul" of things that it's flowing in.

Before watching this video I will say my thoughts. I consider what luffy is doing to be the principles of advanced armament applied with conquerors. I think advanced conquerors haki is an entirely different concept we will explore in later arcs (elbaf or shanks) and it will be the ability to completely exercise your will on someone, possibly without them even knowing
The way I see it. Luffy struggles with learning from verbal explanation but he learns quickly from hands on experiences. Monkey see Monkey D Luffy do.
my theory: conqueror haki affect your will itself. When you coat yourself to it, your coating your will itself onto your hands, and attacks the other opponents will or body, thats why it isnt touching because it coated on will, and will/spirit is invisible.
Advanced armament is just flowing your haki into something, but advanced king is coating in your spirit/will, and attacking the other opponent will/spirit/body?
So which means advanced kings can attack the will or spirit itself. And to have stronger advanced kings, you have to have stronger will, and to have stronger will, you have to have stronger will of D, meaning to be always smiling even when you face death?
On and advanced armament might work on big mom or whatever but might not work on kaido if he coat himself to advanced king, so his body is indestrucible due to his insane will
And for those black lightning, i think it just a leakage of advanced king. Instead of coating, rather it leaking out of your body?
I think the whole purpose of him learning how to make is haki flow, was for him to be able to make his conquerors haki flow into his attacks

I think the way Morj describes it makes more sense. It's not that luffy is using both advanced armament and advanced conquer's it's just that advanced conqueror's is a direct replacement for advanced armament. Essentially advanced armament is just the people of wano replicating coating your attacks in conqueror's haki but it's much weaker. That's why the top tiers like Kaido and big mom don't know about it because they never needed to learn it. To me personally it doesn't make sense for the top tiers like Kaido and big mom to not know about advanced armament if it actually enhanced their attacks even further when combined with conqueror's. Especially someone like kaido who lived in wano. But it makes a lot more sense if they didn't know about it simply because they have no reason too.
I really hope the lurking legend that we haven't seen yet is a Haki Master that will explain everything about this power system. It is a good system, but can be better if explained further like how Nen was introduced to us.
The only reason people that have ryou don't use conquerors haki is simply because they don't have conquers haki. The physical experience of coating your attacks in ryou is the same as CoC. once luffy and zoro learned ryou, the application of CoC was almost instant once they witnesed another fighter doing it. I compare it to perfet pitch. I dont have perfect pitch but i have trained my relative pitch to the point where i can hear most notes and convice someone i have perfect pitch. Therefore I can compete with persons of perfect pitch but will never have that extra ability.
But that’s actually how learning from experience works especially in fighting, it’s a lot of just feeling + instincts
I think this was great discussion. My only comment is just that people shouldn't struggle so much trying to understand Luffy being able to apply Supreme King. I feel like that's Kaido's secret weapon and Luffy is now using it against him. In order for Straw Hat to win, its come down to strategy and confidence.
Dude Ryou is how they call Haki in Wano, or more precisely the flow of Haki, in this case armament Haki. But flowing armament results in shallow hits, they penetrate but not quite enough. When Luffy gets hit by Kaido he's like "oh I can make conquerors flow too sweet" , and flowing conquerors results in deeper hits and its what the outside world calls advanced conquerors. This is a story about the clash of 2 cultures and how they interpret something common to the world.
