The funny thing about Enel is his "godlike power" was only godlike bc of the insane range of his observation haki. Ya, the lightning itself was powerful but it wouldn't have been as terrifying for the Skypian's if he didnt have that near omniscient ability to monitor everyone in range.
At the end of the day Haki is literally willpower and I've seen characters that don't have Conquerors haki like Sanji Killer and Jimbei but have stronger wills than somebody like Doflamingo who has Conquerors haki 🤔
@@thetruth997_ Doflamingo might be evil but that definitely doesn't mean he has a weak will... He's motivated in his own twisted ways, and i think possibly in even more ways than we know right now. Sanji is without a doubt a strong willed person but I think its true ambition (such as luffy and zoro and most with conq haki) that lets you take it to the next level, and doflamingo was certainly not unambitious. Again, I think it's safe to say that sanji and kid are ambitious, but their ambitions are either limited or on the backburner rn. (Zoro has pretty much been non-stop working to his goal, he's willing to risk his life for luffy but he would never slow down otherwise, when's the last time we heard about the all blue lol Sanji's gonna make luffy pirate king first)
Yoooo I totally didn't even think about how Blackbeard's current plan of hunting DF users runs counter to the theme of willpower. Big brain video as always Morj!
@Fearless joy i mean maybe so but also, Shanks is just a normal human meaning that getting scarred by a standard weapon isn't difficult. You only run into problems when you come across df users with fruits that naturally increase durability or grant immunity to certain attacks.
@Fearless joy i think shanks was warning about bb not because he has strong haki but because he's the most deceptive and shrewd person shanks has ever seen. What makes bb dangerous is not his fruits but his mind, he got both fruits and allies using his mind
The analogy i like to use when talking about DFs' effect on characrers' "power levels" is height in basketball. Just being 7 feet tall can help you win againt total amatures, but against talented, trained proffesionals, it wont get you far. And when youre talking about the best of the best, theyre going to be incredibly talented AND tall. Even then you have the occational star player who's skill outweighs their average height. Same with fruit. Maybe you can rule your isabd in one of the Blues with a strong fruit, but its not enough in even Paradise. And those that rise to the top of the level of yonko are (often) those that have both
Kind of reminds me of the hunter x hunter explanation. Power and skill are important but ultimately experience and quick decisive tactics have more sway
The story basically said that the Will of the user (aka Haki) trumps all. Roger had the greatest Will in the series, and I love that this also plays into the how a user possessing their own power is far greater than eating / gaining a power.
What if Gear 5th has two forms Nighttime = Moon form deals with lightning Dawn = Sun form dealing with fire A all Red orange style, Just like we all thought his form looked like initially, before it was revealed to be all white
The fact Oda has been highlighting the importance of Haki, even last chapter, makes sense considering the beasts like Roger and Garp. Luffy will definitely have the strongest Haki in the end of series
I'm so glad that Oda finally put more emphasis, and actually stated the importance of haki rather than it always being implied. Two of the strongest characters in the show, Roger and Garp, had nothing but their haki and that always bothered me that there wasn't more said about that. Now we're going to see why it is that haki is so important and how it is the singular most powerful ability in One Piece.
Kaido already said the every attack G5 Luffy has been throwing is covered with both armament and conqueror’s Haki. So, the awakened Luffy has been using a combination of conqueror’s Haki and armament (most likely advanced armament). So, there is nothing much that needs to change. His conqueror Haki particularly just needs to get even stronger. This gigantic attack of Luffy has black lightning and it’s black so this supposedly “final attack” is coated with both armament and conqueror’s Haki. If Kaido falls bcs of this attack, I won’t be mad because it’s a heavy atta k with everything Luffy has learned so far….
this would just be a ripoff doffy finish. being punched out the sky down to the people to see. except kaidos defeat had 0 genuine buildup and we still know nothing bout his character.
@@shosh5806 yes, people really believe we will have a doffy scenario like whaaaat, no way, no after kaido had that speech about haki and basically flexing the fact he is been toying with his awakening and not being serious. I can see the focus being on kaido next chapter, cant wait
@@bmuhammadthariqhumaid4670 huuuum maybe for luffy but look at sanji and zoro, litterally it was a cliff hanger, nobody was sure if it was gonna win the fight and they both did.
I always thought Oda was showing us the two sides of power with Wano. On the one hand we had Law and Kidd vs Big Mom which showed how strong awakening can be, on the other hand we had Luffy vs Kaido which showed us how strong Haki can be. I was surprised when Oda decided to focus on Luffy's Devil Fruit but the last chapter kind of set things straight. I think this battle will be decided by Haki.
Awakened Conquers Haki always beat Awakened Devil Fruits, and it’s why Prime Sengoku, Prime Garp, and Prime White Beard were the only people in Roger’s life that were equal to Roger that time era, but now in Luffy’s Era there’s much much stronger swordsmen than Roger and Rayleigh, so White Beard and Roger can’t stay Pirate Kings forever.
@@onlyosiriz375 , Awakened Haki is Haki beyond the stages of Advanced and Basic Haki. For example Akainu, the Gorosei, and those above the Gorosei are people with Awakened Conquers Haki, but any Marine Officer below Garp, Sengoku, and Akainu have either basic Haki or Advanced Haki, but it isn’t in the Awakened states like how Roger, White Beard, and Rayleigh have Awakened Conquers Haki but only Roger, Oden, Luffy, and Momo can hear the voice of all things which is a rare genetic that’s even rarer than those that posses Awakened Conquers Haki.
It has always been decided by Haki, Luffy's awakening was a sidetrack. I think it's why Kaido doesn't have any more tricks up his sleeve like people believe, he's just using Haki to overcome Luffy.
Not having a devil fruit gives you the advantage and opportunity to focus solely on your haki, giving it much more time and dedication to develop. This is why Shanks could be the best at haki out of all the yonkos.
Maybe but you need both to reign Supreme, Roger is the Goat so he doesn't count but Whitebeard and Kaido rose to the top of the Emperors by having both.
In Luffy's case, both are equally important for him. If he had Haki from the beginning up to this point and no Devil Fruit, he wouldn't have really been able to defeat Kaido without the convenience that his DF brought to him during the fight. Gear 5 mixed with his will power, his Haki, makes him such a dangerous and very potent contender to deal with.
I think this Haki vs Devil Fruit plot point will be fully resolved in the battle against the Blackbeard Pirates. Each Strawhat either unlocking or upgrading their Haki to defeat an opponent with a strong Devil Fruit will cement this idea of Spirit and Will being the most important thing.
I like how Kaido himself pointed out that Devil Fruit abilities aren't everything. Ace is a good example of this. He had Conqueror and from the novel apparently Armament Haki too but he relied heavily in his Devil Fruit
This us just false. In his fight with Blackbeard, Ace is mentioned to be extremely powerful even without his fruit. Nothing in the story suggest even in the slightest that Ace was weak without his fruit.
People should've realized haki was very important when there are fighters without devil fruits surviving in a world like One Piece. Also when it became a requirement to survive in the new world.
Great analysis as always morj. It's really impressive how consistent oda is. The devil fruit reveal felt a bit off topic as it hasn't anything to do with wano's theme, but then Kaido make this huge haki statement and everything is fine again. The Nika stuff seems like just the beginning, as if he's planting seeds to a much more important plot point in the future, but definitely it can't be wano's main focus.
@@rahul-vk2gt Because Wano from the get-go has always been about the strength of spirit (which is what Haki is), not at all anything to do with Devil Fruits.
@@rahul-vk2gt , Joyboi only died 800 years ago because he didn’t have fully awakened Conquers Haki, and he only had a pure fully Awakened Sun God Nika Devil Fruit ability, but after Luffy develops complete control over Awakened Conquers Haki then he’ll be Joyboi 2.0 fully.
I do agree. The awakening seems to be more of a horizontal growth in giving Luffy more abilities use. It does increase his overall strength but it would not mean much on the yonko level if he didn't have advance haki.
Haki is definitely the most important factor in the OP world. Just look at Garp all he does is punch thing hard and he's still one of the strongest, having mastery of just one type of haki or in Garp's case armament haki, you can still become an unstoppable god.
@@kentekuzan I don't think garp has conquorer since he doesn't have kingly ambitions and a free will, as we saw in the Marineford arc where he wouldn't go against the marines to save ace but also won't whole-heartedly fulfill his duty as Marine when he didn't stop luffy from saving ace or when he was about to kill Akainu after ace's death. He couldn't decide to whether be a good grandfather or a good marine and he failed at both.
Suprised that this concept is still being questioned. If Roger conquered the world with just Haki, that should automatically extend to the idea of “haki can overpower even the strongest DF out there”. Heck, having a will power and not be scared of Big Mom cancels out one of her abilities.
@@elock1277 youre acting like Roger didnt conquer the seas with just haki. Kaido literally stated that having an op fruit is not enough to be a king. You need to have a strong Haki/Will Youre acting like having an OP fruit is an automatic win against haki. We forgetting that Law’s fruit STRUGGLED against Vergo’s Buso Haki? Sure he’s strong now but are you really gonna say that he can bypass and beat Roger like that? You cannt argue this when Roger literally proved it. The whole power system is around having a strong spirit/will. Heck, are you also forgetting about Roger/Garp vs The Rox? A crew full of OP fruit users? Lol
@@elock1277 which means Big Mom’s Haki isnt strong enough to negate Law’s df. It doesnt mean that it’s automatically Haki < DF when Roger is the literal proof. Heck, even Luffy’s fruit aint folding Kaido since his Haki isnt strong enough. As long as we have Roger in the argument, you aint winning. It’s haki > devil fruit 🤷🏽♂️
I take what kaido said about haki over df more like oda's foreshadowing of what Luffy's next power up will be. I.e. crocodile says you can't just have a df, you need to be creative with it lead to Luffy's gears, doflamingo talks about importance of awakening your df and here we are. Luffy still defeated them without the power ups at the time. This leads me to believe luffy can still defeat Kaido without that major haki power up as morj mentioned but that could be saved for when he fights black beard
haki is a must to be strong, DF just increases your option on how you fight. another thing i like to mention is i think the synergy between DF and haki is important. Like how Luffy implement his haki to his DF gears and how Enel's observation haki massively increase his DF power
People keep saying this was a perfect counter to Blackbeard, while ignore his other ability is to nullify df abilities. Haki is needed Don't know why you have to downplay ulti, she fought a guy who defeated two commanders and he had training, says alot more about her... and how strong Kaido crew is.
As far as we know, bb has to touch someone to nullify their powers right? Also, i think it might not be good for blackbeard to nullify luffy's powers. Everyone in the series been getting the soft rubber punches from luffy so far, blackbeard probably don't wanna find out what luffy's meat and bone punches feel like lmao. This man was raised by Garp The Fist! I'm actually a bit concerned that oda, through finding a way for luffy to beat kaido, is setting up the reverse problem with blackbeard. In the beginning of wano, oda didn't know how luffy would beat kaido, and now I have no idea how blackbeard will provide a challenge worthy of succeeding kaido.
@@SJNaka101 true but his abilities weren't awaken then, not sure how or do logia awaken but his ability might not be a logia and probably could awaken Also Blackbeard took multiple hits from whitebeard and his devil fruit increase physical pain. He can take a hit
@@SJNaka101 I mean the combination of both the Yami yami and the Gura Gura, is still a lethal combo, just because Haki is superior doesn't mean fruits aren't still effective. That's the real message here. It's not all about df but they sure as fuck help. I mean not just anyone but Luffy can't take a quake punch straight on and come out unscathed and BB is younger so it hits harder. Luffy may have the Haki to fight BB but taking a quake punch while not being able to use your rubber abilities to cushion the blow it is *still* going to hurt like no other.
To be fair, I think Gear 5 requires conquerors Haki to actually activate. Just like how gear 4 requires armament haki to be used. So yeah maybe he needs both and improve his conquerors haki to used Gear 5 more effectively and longer.
This video was really insightful. The fact that blackbeard is the opposing force of luffy makes so much sense. If you think about it if blackbeard nullifies luffy's DF then the only option left for him is to use haki. Maybe this is the reason why Zebeck lost to Roger, he was too focused on his DF and lost to a superior haki user
@@halfbloodprince9235 during his latest stream brago donated to morj wishing him a happy birthday, however it is not his birthday. if u go to his twitter a lot of people are wishing him a happy birthday.
I feel like you need to consider that not everything Kaidou says needs to specifically be about beating Kaidou. Some things are setups for future arcs. Particularly this question of Haki feels to be setting up for the coming events as Luffy tries to go beyond Yonkou level and live up to Roger. This is particularly going to be significant against Blackbeard, who's DF ability disables other DF abilities, and thus necessitates the use of Haki.
Was about to comment this. A lot of people have a hard time grasping that what villain says is not just important to the current arc but also future ones. The call for a strong Haki is a direct reference to Blackbeard and how Luffy needs to fight him without the Nika-powers. To become Pirate King he has to have the strongest will. Roger only managed to become Pirate King but couldn’t make a dent to the WG and Imu, because he lacked a strong DF (specifically Nika). So the mastery of Haki is needed to become Pirate King and mastery of both Haki and fruit is needed to overthrow the WG. To me it is clear as day what Oda is trying to say.
@AndrewWithEase11 11 because Blackbeard is going to (at least partially) disable Luffy's DF, so against BB he will have to rely more on Haki than he does against Kaidou. The neutralization of DF powers is just clearly going to be an obstacle in the upcoming arc.
@@alexsklavenitis302 Truthfully I believe the opposite will happen lol. If the raid fails people will complain about Oda " needlessly " prolonging the arc and that ending it there would have been perfect despite guys like Morj pointing out setups or plot points suggesting the arc could last longer. Before the gear 5 developments I remember a lot of op youtubers were releasing videos about elbaf like the arc was in its fnal phase just to do a 180 afterwards.
A major thing about this though is that Luffy awakening has given him something that Kaido had the entire time: durability and stamina. With the strength of conquerors haki alone, he lacked both the other factors that Kaido had over him. Imagine kaido without his dragon toughness. They are all important, but I agree haki is the only mandatory element.
but if your haki is super super super strong you won't get down by durability or stamina problems because your will (your haki) won't allow it you know
There simply isn't a revealed character from the time of Roger that could contest that theory, and not a fully fleshed out character that could now. I agree though. I would love to see how modern Kaido stacks up to prime Roger. I appreciate you, piv.
Regarding the beginning portion about luffys fruit not being the big upgrade; i agree and its really interesting that for example with katakuri the fight was basically done after snake man. Overall without research i think luffys power ups have all ended the fights. Either way, this fight is especially unique because all the Nika gomu gomu abilities he has showcased arent phasing kaido.
This makes me think of how katakuri was terrifying, not because of his df, but because of his mastery of haki, observation haki to be exact. The mochi-mochi no mi isn't all that impresive on its own but Katakuri made it seem OP because of how he used it by opening holes on his body on purpose because he knew were the attacks were going to hit
I’m sure someone’s said it already, but Luffy’s Haki has kinda always been his bigger power ups post time skip. Take the Katakuri fight for example. While Snakeman was big in its own right, Luffy’s growth moreso lied in him learning how to use Observation Haki similar to how Katakuri does. (Heck, he probably wouldn’t even be able to use Gear 4th without Haki in the first place)
A devil fruit just allows you to break your celling of what was possible to achieve with haki alone. That attack power of a Yonko is mostly haki but applying a devil fruit on top of that allows you to reach new heights. Kaido was blessed with his devil fruit by big mom but Oden showed him that he still had room for growth and he wasn't invincible on his devil fruit alone.
It’s the opposite. Applying haki to your devil fruit allows you to break your ceiling. That’s literally the whole reason why luffy Is able to fight kaido. So yes in the end, haki trumps all
@@ayeekoolaid520 ur arguing semantics, I said a devil fruit allows you to break *ur ceiling of what was possible to do with haki alone*, u just agreed with me but ok LOL

I think luffy's punch will knockout kaido momentarily and then we will get kaido's flashback while he is down then he will refuse to lose and get's up with his awakening.

Kaido's probably not using his awakening if he hasn't already awakened. Kaido emphasizes Haki which makes me believe he's gonna go down using Haki until the end. It would be kind of hypocrite to talk about the importance of Haki and then use your awakening to boost yourself.
True, advanced conquerors haki was huge jump, but by how story is being shown to us, there is much more screen time on awakening. Before it we've seen fight from time to time, but ever since awakening, we get mostly fight with snippets of story. That's why it feels like devil fruit in this case is more important. Do i agree overall haki is more important thematically? Yeah. But there are often differences between what Oda wants and clearly is going to present, and how it eventually gets presented. Hell, I believe Oda made Kaido remind us that haki is much more important is because he realized that he's putting too much emphasis on Luffy's fruit than he wanted to. Oda often gets carried away while writing things and then have to go through hoops to get back where he wanted to be because he put too much focus on something else. It's something he clearly struggles with, and main reason why for past several years "one piece is going to end in five years". Or why it lasted longer than two. Or why we even got Warlords of the sea and different arcs centered around them. Or why some characters gets more screen time than others. Writing is a tough balancing act, and even though Oda is not always succeeding at it, he's still amazing weekly writer. Even though he sometimes really have to break "show don't tell" rule.
Morj was being a bit disingenuous about the Luffy and Ulti clash. Luffy wasn't being serious in Onigashima until he reached the Rooftop. This happens repeatedly in the series where Luffy kids around & "struggles" with the much weaker subordinates of the antagonist then gets serious and is a match for the big bad. Luffy could have defeated Ulti pretty easily... bit weird to even insinuate that Luffy coming into Onigashima was Tobi Roppo level. Heck, Luffy coming out of the timeskip is stronger than Ulti. Other than that however, pretty spot on analysis.
Yea I felt that was weird too. Its similar to the way they stretched out the Don chinjao vs luffy clash. Luffy was not Tobi Roppo level in Onigashima lol. Even Sanji could have taken her out.
I don’t think he’s saying that luffy was generally topi roppo level. He was obviously stronger than ulti but was still capable of losing a clash with her. In any case there’s no way that would be close to happening now. A few hours later luffy is splitting the sky with Kaido in base. He’s just highlighting the extreme increase in power that luffy had.
Might've been biased by your last video but yeah as soon as I read that panel, I switched to the "Luffy loses one more time" camp. It's worth remembering that in Luffy vs. Lucci, he didn't win in gear 3, he won in a gear that was somewhat old news at that point. Likewise Luffy vs. Moria wasn't decided in Nightmare Luffy form. It's possible that the final clash is just base + advanced conquerer but with more guts
Exactly. That's the theory I'm suscribing. That just because he unlocked his ultimate form some minutes ago, it doesn't mean, that will the form to finish the fight.
Maaaaaybe but then you’ve got Doffy. I think it could go either way and still be pretty satisfying tbh. Morj’s whole brand nowadays is saying controversial statements with conviction. Try not to get too attached to headcanon, no matter how convincing a youtuber is.
@@JustButton oh yeah I should have mentioned that these were the only two examples; every other fight was decided in the max form. These just show that it doesn't *have* to be decided in the max form
I do agree that Kaido's statement about haki being more important than DF powers will be important, but I don't think Kaido will win again, it will just drag things out and make it too repetitive, what I feel it's going to happen is Luffy trying to land the punch while Kaido pushes back with boro breath or something like that and it's Luffy's determination which will ultimately give him that last push of Haki boost to finally beat Kaido in a glorious way. This would also give time for Momonosuke to find a way to move the island out of the way.

I’ve thought that since the time-skip devil fruits basically don’t matter. It’s 90% Haki excluding law and a few other exceptions. I was talking with a friend and we said “One Piece is basically becoming Dragon Ball Z with cool colors” because Haki is becoming like power levels where technique and abilities don’t decide the fight 90% of the time just who has the bigger power level.
@Fearless joy The way it's drawn makes it seem like Luffy's haki is literally "smaller". Also one panel said Yamato was about half as strong as Kaido and it was represented by making her haki literally smaller when they would clash. It's basically a beam battle with Conqueror's haki instead.
It's about strength, it has always been about strength. Devil fruits, haki, it's all the same. It all comes down to who can take the biggest hits and who has the biggest will. What's this power levels bullshit?
I saw this in OP fanpage. Yamantaka, Kaido's new Thunder Bagua attack is the Wisdom King that "Destroyed/Defeated Enma, God of Death". But Yamantaka means another. Yamantaka, which literally translates as Destroyer of Death is also symbolizing the destruction of "ignorance" as Buddhist believes that ignorance = death. You're not alive if you're ignorant. You destroyed death(became alive) when you became awakened. Basically, Kaido's Yamantaka Thunder Bagua symbolizes what Kaido has been saying in the chapter. Let's not be ignorant [Luffy] into thinking that OP DF is what will make Luffy on top. IT IS HAKI THAT SURPASSES IT.
8:59 Luffy's devil fruit has fit him more than haki on many occasions 10:20 Blackbeard is far from the only one to go strictly after devil fruits. What about Big Mom's army of Sugary devil fruits? Or literally just Kaido who is farming Smile fruits because "Carnivorous Zoans the strongest type of devil fruits".
At the moment, Luffy can only imbue himself with Conqueror's Haki. I believe there are three 'tiers' of Conqueror's Haki that Luffy has yet to master: 1. External Imbuing of Conqueror's Haki: On rubberized external elements rather than himself. 2. Emitting (or Projecting) Conqueror's Haki: Instead of imbuing your body, projecting a blast of Conqueror's Haki, as Yamato and Zoro have done; mirroring the Armament's Haki Emission like Rayleigh with the elephant. 3. Internal Conqueror's Haki Flow: Mirroring the Armament's Haki Internal Flow as Luffy did with the tree and handcuffs.
It's clear that both Haki & Devil Fruits are important. Kaido said "Abilities *alone* can't conquer the world...because only Haki can transcend all". Luffy listened to him, but it's not as if he stopped stretching & went back to just using King's Haki infusion. No, instead he makes the biggest fist ever, something he can only do thanks to his Devil Fruit. And then he COMBINES this giant fist with Advanced Armament + King's Haki. *THAT* is how he beats Kaido. With *both.*
@@15THGAMERQ I would suggest reread 1045-1049 if you believe that's what happened. You'll notice Kaidou actually responding well to most of G5 Luffy's attacks, he's only flustered sometimes because Luffy's fighting style is so wacky & then gets overpowered at the very end.
I would also mention the fact that even kid and law didn't use haki (we didn't see them use) to beat big mom and they only used their abillities to beat her. And the fact that kaido mentioned kid having conqueres haki but it didn't get anywhere. I've thought that's the main messege of this arc for a long time and kaido confirmed it. coincidence?
That's why it was a 2v1 and they almost lost until big mom got sent away. Luffy is able to 1v1 with Kaido because of his haki and the point is luffy will always be ahead of the supernovas because of his haki which is tied to his Will to be the strongest.
@@serenedreen9662 To me it's weird that the fact this arc conquere is very important theme and the fact that kaido literally mentioned kid has conquere haki and yet we didn't see him use even basic armnament haki the whole fight with both big mom and kaido. Instead they used abillities alone and even then law did most of the damage when kid's the one who was presented as equivalent to luffy in udon I know he had law on his side and tactics, bombs etc. But the fact they use only their abillities the whole fight and the fact that they don't use even basic haki (they might did but we didn't see it on screen) it gives the opposite message of what this arc comes to convey. Because they beat a yonko that conquere the seas without haki but more because of the fruits. Also the fact that instead of penetrate her hard skin they attacked her from inside instead (cuz they just can't their haki's not strong enough)
@@OrielAdirTheGamingIL I get what you're saying and that is weird. I just think oda wanted to have the supernovas fight Yonkos and get a win without taking away Luffy's chance of putting big mom away for good.
One thing that is lost on the fanbase much of the time is the importance of physical capabilities as well as haki/DF Garp is almost undoubtedly the strongest living non-df user and his main thing is not haki (though he does have it) it’s his sheer strength to the point where it is said that he can split a continent with a headbutt
But he did win because of Df awakening? I think Kaidos statement is only partilly true. If it is just a fight of wills than Kaido would win. But because Luffy is more than just the embodiement of his will. A symbol for freedom and desire. Was the think that made him go over the edge. While these two things are similar, I would say they have small differences.
Whitebeard had an absurbly strong devil fruit ability and yet he himself still needed haki and conquerors to keep up with roger and other users equally on his level
If advance conquerors haki was the power which took luffy clashing with ulti to splitting sky with kaido( yonko level), so that means zoro is yonko level too?!!
What more could Luffy do with Haki at this point? Kaido even commented that Luffy was using coated in armament and conqueror's haki while in Gear 5th. The remainder of this battle is likely just one of attrition. Any further haki advances for Luffy at this point would be overkill
No, Crocodile just said that anyone with a fruit power can become on powerful depending on how you use it, it doesnt matter what the power is (Croco never once made fun of Luffy’s rubber power but the fact he cant hit him because he hasn’t trained enough) And as seen, Haki can be easily combined with devil fruits
Ok that is a weak argument as not only crocodile didn't even had haki at that time so he can't know it but also crocodile didn't even said that df is stronger than haki he just said that you can master your devil fruit to become stronger while kaido directly says that haki is more important than devil fruit and just if you use common sense and look at the fight the gap beetween non advanced conqueror and advanced conqueror haki luffy was much bigger than the gap of luffy base form advanced conqueror haki vs luffy gear 5 advanced conqueror haki because alot forget that how can gear 5 argument when luffy is literally using haki with his devil druit?
That’s what I love about this series, is that it’s truly all about the one with the greatest will, greatest drive, most ambition, determination, morale, & confidence in themselves & their loved ones around them & their own strength of will to be able to become greater than everyone or anything else. Just like the real world! The real world doesn’t have DFs and people in real life can’t have whacky, crazy, overpowered abilities like DFs can give you.. but will power is a real life super power & ability! With the strongest willpower & confidence in yourself & those around you in real life, you literally & truly can become the greatest in the world. I like how OP has it like that, where the realistic ability of willpower is what trumps all, just like real life.
Something I have been wondering for a good while actually is what makes an Yonko so powerful and unbeatable, even with strong attacks that can one punch most top tier fighters aka someone like Luffy at the start of wano or even having a strong fleet, I keep coming back wondering why are they so unbeatable if we go back to when Kaido was first introduced into the series he jumps off a sky island and takes no damage from it, if we look at the plan to assassinate Big Mom during Whole cake they had to break her spirit first by breaking the picture to even inflict damage, so I wonder why is it like this even with Luffy's upgrades during wano has any of this made him have that same level if durability that Big Mom and Kaido have been shown to have? was his Conquerors upgrade only what lets him be able to hurt Kaido because Conquerors Haki is whats needed to hurt someone with the highest level of Conquerors Haki? does Conquerors Haki give Yonko's the durability they are shown to always have? In the Kid and Law fight with Big Mom they hurt her by means other than a straight up fight law used his ability's to hurt her internally alot and Kid Crushed her alot there was not alot of external damage being done, so I wonder if leveling your Haki just in general makes you tankier than others just by making Haki stronger or is there still something else we do not know about Conquerors Haki yet about maybe a final level to Conquerors Haki and what makes it so rare. When I look back to Marinford something I always find interesting is why the WG sent someone they tricked to go attack Whitebeard first and get that surprise attack in as the first wound Whitebeard took in that fight, I might be looking to deep into this but we also saw how Whitebeard Health effected him using Conquerors Haki in the war when Ace was about to be Executed so I wonder if that went even deeper than just knocking everyone out, we can also look at Shanks meeting Whitebeard where Shanks was literally making Cracks in Whitebeards ship just by walking around, did the WG send Squard to sneak attack Whitebeard to see if he was still able to use a yonko's durability? why was it so easy for Squard to pierce Whitebeard when Big Mom needed to have her will broken first? I may have not worded my assessment the best but I hope I got my points across fine.
Well in the case of Kaido or Big Mom, they are natural born monsters. Big Mom had insane durability long before she could use Haki and the implication with Kaido is that he's not even human so his durability may have something to do with that. I do think it's possible CoC plays a role in their seeming invulnerability and there was even a theory going around that CoC/spirit is the cause of it. Big Mom was vulnerable when her spirit was weakest. Some say the reason Zoro was able to scar Kaido was because he had PTSD from his fight with Oden and seeing Enma caused his spirit to waver for a moment
My only argument with this is if Haki is all important then Big Mom with her Advanced Conquers Haki should have been able to block off both Awakenings off Law and Kidd but she was taken down by 2 supernovas that had inferior haki. Meaning Dfs are important in the grand scheme of tgings that is why Blackbeard is stockpiling them and that is why Kaido went to extreme lengths to try and recreate the Devil Fruit via the Smile Route🤔
Nah it’s only proving kaido’s statement more because big mom relied too much on her df. If she was using advanced conquerors, law and kid would be done
I have a suspicion as I'm sure a few people do that Luffy's big punch is going to momentarily knock Kaido out until we get Kaido's flashback and his awakening which he will then knock out Luffy seeming for good and Luffy will have to learn even greater use of Haki before fighting Kaido again
No fucking way. Since kaido's backstory is probably rooted in the Rocks pirates, we are not going to get that flashback. Maybe a partial flashback that expands on what we saw with king escaping the lab. We will learn kaido's full backstory when we get rocks flashback. But I am going to go NUTS if luffy loses AGAIN. I am fatigued by how long we've been in wano. I want a change of setting. Kaido isn't about to teach luffy some final lesson. Oda is using this dialogue from kaido to emphasize that yes, luffy is at that pirate king level when he defeats kaido. Oda follows the rule of 3s pretty closely. This is luffy's 3rd round with kaido on onigashima. Plus luffy CAN NOT lose. If he loses, he DIES, and he is the protagonist.
@@commentingaccount1383 Luffy not being able to lose because if he loses he dies hasn't really kept him from losing tho lmao even the trigger for this "3rd round"(people debate a lot what counts as a separate round or not) was Luffy Losing at a position where if he lost, he should die he not only didn't get his head taken by Kaido to prove his point as he had said after the last time luffy beat him(because he was too emotional over the seemly oden situation repeat) and not only managed to get back on his feet he also got a boost and recovered some because it triggered his awakening to close off possibilites because you can't think of a way to go around more technical literal aspects just sounds silly at points when Oda gets so wild with it at times
luffy learned something again. when he pummels kaido, later, luffy will get his ass beaten again then he learned something again that can possibly beat kaido then after he pummeled kaido for a bit, luffy would get his ass beaten again..... wtf is this? a fcking loop?
Like mentioned in the video, is because Haki is literally Willpower it is the dominant power system in the series. Its is (interestingly) tied to one of the core themes of the story even though being a power system and this is why mostly likely it will always be top. Devil fruits are amazing, in fact base on creativity they are infinitely more exciting then something like Haki. But when one of the main themes of the story is literally represent in a power you can use for combat, that's gona be hard to de throne.
You say this like you are from the future, and it’s ended, but honestly he should surpass what Roger couldn’t do is gaining even better Haki would be a great show of that.
A lot of people in the comments are saying that kaido still has his awakening and is gonna curb stomp luffy but like... Dude literally just said that haki is superior to Devil fruits, and that strong devil fruit abilites cant compare to haki, he would literally have to take back everything he just fucking said and awaken anyway proving that his strong devil fruit ability, is what got him the W, i think it would be cooler to have a kaido breath attack with everything he has including maybe haki, vs luffys fist, and luffys will being stronger then kaidos, therefore strengthinig his haki enough to put kaido down.
I said this everywhere in every one piece youtuber after nica fruit introduction. Luffy devil fruit is not broken because every devil fruit has a weakness, like water and seastone. But haki doesnt.
Luffy has everything in this series, everything Color of Armament + Advanced Color of Armament (Internal Destruction and Barrier) Color of Observation + Advanced Color of Observation (Future Sight and ? Voice of All Things ?) Color of Conqueror + Advanced Color of Conqueror (Coating) Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika = A Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit (Rarest Devil Fruit) with powers from both Paramecia and Logia Devil Fruits Luffy's Devil Fruit Awakening can both change the enviroment (Doflamingo and Katakuri) and living beings (Law and Kidd) Luffy HAS EVERYTHING and half of this was gained in just Wano alone
I don’t think this will be a case of luffy actually taking a loss here to kaido, I think this is going to be another fight like katakuri where luffy using his advanced conquerors in battle would get more proficient with it and I imagine after seeing everyone that’s fallen in this raid luffy’s will is going to be very strong he did say he will defeat him no matter what
Kaido: in his base form, eyes blacked out, body covered in blood, utterly broken Narrator: Skull Dome, Rooftop Battle. Victor: Strawhat Luffy Mr. Morj: Here is why Luffy loses.
Even Chapter 1 of this entire series shows these mysterious and powerful Devil Fruits just failing to some bandit throwing Luffy into the water. However, Shanks can both swim and make a Sea King go away by just staring at it really hard. Even back then, the distinction between Fruits and Haki was made clear.
Kaido says all this with the most strongest and destructive zoan. All his durability and endurance is a byproduct of his fruit. Kidd and law just out hax big mom though
kaido's tough skin is because of his own strenght + oni strenght. He practically almost indestructable when he on base form with sea stone stuff tied to his body (of course the marine tried to execute kaido with a sea stone tied to the body). And momonosuke didnt instantly have indestructable homicidal body like kaido
we know big mom got nerfed to the ground, and also practically kid and law knocked big mom outta onigashima because even kids railgun cant finish her off
@@bmuhammadthariqhumaid4670 big mom didn’t get nerfed she had 6 durability negation attacks kidd and law do internal damage tf can she do? Haki her organs?

Luffy clashing with ulti was also luffy learning to get serious he had no business head butting a pro headbutter if he punched her seriously with ryo it’s different
Raid won't fail. It it fails, then thw entire theme of Wano will crumble. Wano has to be liberated based on all evidence we've seen so far. The anime gives additional scenes that imply the land will be liberated. Luffy cannot fail. He already lost 3 times and if he fails to liberate the land, all of the build up, him carrying on Ace's will to liberate Wano will end up in naught. Oda doesn't write like that. Morj just giving his head canon tbh.
"Luffy needs another haki powerup" Bruh, what else is there? He's splitting the skies, he has mastery over the haki branches, he has had like 4 massive powerups against kaido alone. He needs no more to beat kaido.
I think Luffy’s haki can still improve in later arcs but other than that I agree. Luffy has learned conquerors coating but he probably doesn’t have the same level of control over it that Kaido does quite yet. Kaido is the much more experienced fighter after all. I think the only reason Luffy’s haki can compete is his ambition/will is greater than Kaido’s and it is is hence more potent but not used as effectively. Basically what I’m trying say Luffy’s got the more power in the same amount of aura but he may not be able to bring enough out as much as Kaido yet or use it as effectively.
In terms of classic martial arts devil fruits are interesting fighting styles and techniques, while haki is your skill and strength. You can make up a difference in a single fight by using a suprising fighting style, but you can't overcome every stong opponent with cheap tricks.
I don't think fruits matter much beyond how showy someone's fighting style is, each character will be as powerful as the story needs them to be Take Sanji, doesn't matter if he got Enels fruit, he'd still be the no3 in the SHs because that's his purpose in the story If Luffy didn't have a fruit he'd still end the story just as stro g as he will with the Nika fruit because that's his purpose in the story Up until this week it didn't matter if Roger had a fruit or not, we knew he was at the top whether he had a fruit or not Same for Rocks And so on... Fruits are mostly just rly cool fighting style transmogs (like a sword, club or a gun) and rather than ppl calculating a fruits power ppl should ask themselves where any given character fits in the story
I'd like to believe Oda can still write without relying on convenience that heavily...But you are right that in current one piece the only thing that matters is convenience.
I think fs Luffy’s gonna have that limit on the fruit just like with his other gears. We already saw how he needs his heart to beat in a certain rhythm in order for him to maintain the form
The main part I disagree with is if Luffy loses I think someone else would have to beat Kaido, just another power up would make this a worse ark.(not a bad ark just worse) If Luffy is going to get another power up I don't think he'll lose again. Also Kaido has to be beaten this ark because otherwise the people of Wano would suffer, and if Luffy loses now the ark would have to be way to long. I do think Kaido will have a flashback, but it will be as he fails.
Luffy doesn't need to get a powerup, he just needs to master the ones he's already gotten. Just because Luffy is using ACoA, ACoC and Gear 5, it doesn't mean he's mastered them yet. Think about Gear 2 and 3 before the timeskip vs after the timeskip. Even if Luffy loses again, he doesn't need another powerup since he's already going toe to toe with Kaido. He just needs to master what he's already gotten
@@22kazaam I do somewhat agree, like when Luffy will fight Blackbeard he could find out something along the lines of 'I have the sun god fruit so I have fire powers', or 'my haki has greatly improved in power and now I can see further into the future', but I'm just spitballing ideas here.
Hey, you should check out surya the sun god (of 1000 rays) that rides a chariot with a symbol that personifies dawn, who i believe to be luffy and the sunny, and chandra the moon god (blackbeard) and also their relationship to the samudra-manthana (churning of the ocean), which I believe to be the origin of the one piece story. Especially the part about Indra (joyboy) and his elephant which made a big mistake. This is also a part of Buddhist culture which I think Oda believes in but not confirmed. If you also look at all the gifts they received(two tree's baring gifts) you will also see relations in them with one piece. You must google search these topics as RUclips videos will not be able to do justice to this topic. This may very well be the missing history of the void century in this story.
Honestly, I see Kaido's words more as a figurative meaning rather than Haki is just an all better method than Devil Fruit powers arguement. Because haki is literally a person's Willpower manifested so it only makes sense that if you want to stand at the apex you'd need indomitable "haki"/willpower and Roger was just plain and simple that person in his age.
But the way he phrased it implied that its actual haki not willpower. Roger had no fruit yet conquered the seas. If roger were weak yet had a lot of willpower he still coudnt conquer the seas
Definitely great to point out just how big of a leap Adv. Conqueror's was because people honestly have forgot. It's like Luffy was already a star rookie NBA player at 6'2" and then all of a sudden he grew 7 additional inches taller.
I feel like Luffy should have awakened, be defeated and then get the advanced Conqueror's upgrade. That way it would have been more highlighted how important Haki is
Well, based on Morj's reasoning, Luffy needs one last Haki upgrade. I think it makes sense given that this punch most likely won't finish things, and Luffy's been shown to be on the verge of collapse... So if another upgrade comes, it will indeed exceed the awakening DF upgrade
Probably would have undermined the fact that the world government were chasing this fruit for 800 years in fear of its awakening too much. But yh I do agree that luffys haki should have more shine.
@@thetruth997_ , Luffy needs to have fully awakened Conquers Haki, so that way he’ll be beat Kaido one v one with or without his Awakened Devil Fruit abilities.
I agree with you Morj, but I think this next step in Conquerors Haki is something Oda can, and probably should save for the next fight, whether that be Blackbeard, Shanks or some other wildcard. What fun will luffy’s future fights be if we unlock EVERYTHING just to beat Kaido, right? Adv. Conquerors + Sun God Nika is plenty justification for a Luffy w.
I've had a pretty long standing Theory that Luffy defeating Kaido won't be with a Punch but with a display of Conqueror's Haki. One so powerful that it actually knocks out Kaido and forces him to submit to Luffy's rule as King. www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/u3sl4j/why_kaido_will_become_luffys_pet_theoryanalysis/
@@zentempo7902 Thanks. I understand it's a perspective most people won't agree with even if I explain my reasons clearly but thats how I see the arc playing out.
i have a theory that conqueror's haki gets stronger the more people believe in you, sort of like a spirit bomb from DBZ. It fits the theme of "conqueror" and would explain how ppl like Roger could get so ridiculously strong. It would also setup Luffy to become among the strongest in the world because of his trait which makes ppl want to follow him (remember what Hawkeye said during Marineford). So perhaps in the climax of Kaido fight, Luffy would use the trust of everyone in Wano to power up his Haki and defeat Kaido.
The funny thing about Enel is his "godlike power" was only godlike bc of the insane range of his observation haki. Ya, the lightning itself was powerful but it wouldn't have been as terrifying for the Skypian's if he didnt have that near omniscient ability to monitor everyone in range.
Yes. Enel's observation haki and the bokst it gave him using his lightning fruit, thats what made him terrifying.
It still goes back to the lightning logia cuz it was boosting his observation haki lol
Funny how he got whooped by someone with no haki.
@@thetruth997_ exactly, enel said that with his df he could tap into air/radio waves.
Wrong. Enel was using his devil fruit to boost the range of his haki
Perfect way of Oda saying yet again, "The DF reveal isn't broken. Luffys will is what makes him as great as he is."
Heck yeah. Luffy isn't born special. He has the will and drive to try and succeed.
At the end of the day Haki is literally willpower and I've seen characters that don't have Conquerors haki like Sanji Killer and Jimbei but have stronger wills than somebody like Doflamingo who has Conquerors haki 🤔
@@thetruth997_ Conquerer's haki is selective tho. Only 1 in a million has it. Only the armament and observation can be trained by anybody.
(Zoro has pretty much been non-stop working to his goal, he's willing to risk his life for luffy but he would never slow down otherwise, when's the last time we heard about the all blue lol Sanji's gonna make luffy pirate king first)
Exactly, Luffy is special not because of the fruit, the fruit choose Luffy because he is special
Considering most Zoan has a will of its own
Yoooo I totally didn't even think about how Blackbeard's current plan of hunting DF users runs counter to the theme of willpower.
@Fearless joy hopefully, he won't have a haki and will only use the power of his DFs. BB believed his fruit is the strongest.
@Fearless joy i think shanks was warning about bb not because he has strong haki but because he's the most deceptive and shrewd person shanks has ever seen. What makes bb dangerous is not his fruits but his mind, he got both fruits and allies using his mind
@Fearless joy here bro I think you got my statement wrong, I was trying to say when shanks warns white beard, observe the way he speaks of bb.
this is obvious.
The Allen inverson rule
I just made a comment using a similar basketball reference right before I read this, what a coincidence lol
that is a great analogy can't believe I never thought of it like this

The story basically said that the Will of the user (aka Haki) trumps all. Roger had the greatest Will in the series, and I love that this also plays into the how a user possessing their own power is far greater than eating / gaining a power.

So, the awakened Luffy has been using a combination of conqueror’s Haki and armament (most likely advanced armament).

Gear 5 mixed with his will power, his Haki, makes him such a dangerous and very potent contender to deal with.

I do agree. The awakening seems to be more of a horizontal growth in giving Luffy more abilities use. It does increase his overall strength but it would not mean much on the yonko level if he didn't have advance haki.

another thing i like to mention is i think the synergy between DF and haki is important. Like how Luffy implement his haki to his DF gears and how Enel's observation haki massively increase his DF power
People keep saying this was a perfect counter to Blackbeard, while ignore his other ability is to nullify df abilities.
Haki is needed
Don't know why you have to downplay ulti, she fought a guy who defeated two commanders and he had training, says alot more about her... and how strong Kaido crew is.
I mean I would say she won the clash wasn’t really a fight and Luffy really wasn’t looking to fight her
@@SJNaka101 true but his abilities weren't awaken then, not sure how or do logia awaken but his ability might not be a logia and probably could awaken

I think Luffy was just saving energy against Ulti because he could have used Ryou. Your point is still valid though.
Exactly
This video was really insightful. The fact that blackbeard is the opposing force of luffy makes so much sense. If you think about it if blackbeard nullifies luffy's DF then the only option left for him is to use haki. Maybe this is the reason why Zebeck lost to Roger, he was too focused on his DF and lost to a superior haki user

To me it is clear as day what Oda is trying to say.
dude, morj fans will go down with the raid failing ship. and when it doesnt fail, they'l claim oda is a bad writer.
@AndrewWithEase11 11 because Blackbeard is going to (at least partially) disable Luffy's DF, so against BB he will have to rely more on Haki than he does against Kaidou. The neutralization of DF powers is just clearly going to be an obstacle in the upcoming arc.
to them it HAS to be about kaido. or they cant continue to believe it fails
Morj's ad transitions are getting smoother. Props for the improvement.

“And then it was the finishing blow”

Eh
Yea I felt that was weird too. Its similar to the way they stretched out the Don chinjao vs luffy clash. Luffy was not Tobi Roppo level in Onigashima lol. Even Sanji could have taken her out.
I don’t think he’s saying that luffy was generally topi roppo level. He was obviously stronger than ulti but was still capable of losing a clash with her. In any case there’s no way that would be close to happening now. A few hours later luffy is splitting the sky with Kaido in base. He’s just highlighting the extreme increase in power that luffy had.
it can be said that before luffy vs ulti is mid diff, but now is low diff
@@woosh1342 Definitely not, Sanji would have happily let Ulti step on him until he dies.

Kaido is literally teaching him about every importance of haki of all kind....
8:59 Luffy's devil fruit has fit him more than haki on many occasions
10:20 Blackbeard is far from the only one to go strictly after devil fruits. What about Big Mom's army of Sugary devil fruits? Or literally just Kaido who is farming Smile fruits because "Carnivorous Zoans the strongest type of devil fruits".
At the moment, Luffy can only imbue himself with Conqueror's Haki. I believe there are three 'tiers' of Conqueror's Haki that Luffy has yet to master:
Luffy has been emitting haki since chapter 1010. Chapter 1026, 1030, 1037.
He cannot.emit haki.in Gear 5
So basically armament 2
It's clear that both Haki & Devil Fruits are important. Kaido said "Abilities *alone* can't conquer the world...because only Haki can transcend all". Luffy listened to him, but it's not as if he stopped stretching & went back to just using King's Haki infusion. No, instead he makes the biggest fist ever, something he can only do thanks to his Devil Fruit. And then he COMBINES this giant fist with Advanced Armament + King's Haki. *THAT* is how he beats Kaido. With *both.*
Still makes haki pointless cause in gear 5 he literally just no diffed him
@@15THGAMERQ I would suggest reread 1045-1049 if you believe that's what happened.
I know he had law on his side and tactics, bombs etc. But the fact they use only their abillities the whole fight and the fact that they don't use even basic haki (they might did but we didn't see it on screen) it gives the opposite message of what this arc comes to convey. But he did win because of Df awakening? I think Kaidos statement is only partilly true. If it is just a fight of wills than Kaido would win. But because Luffy is more than just the embodiement of his will. A symbol for freedom and desire. Was the think that made him go over the edge. While these two things are similar, I would say they have small differences.
at that point, kaido is exhausted after fighting for so long
Or it was the giant power boots from his DF that literally made him a god is the reason he won
Yes his haki won that fight
Whitebeard had an absurbly strong devil fruit ability and yet he himself still needed haki and conquerors to keep up with roger and other users equally on his level
That’s why i just think having a devil fruit is fine, but you can’t be lax on Haki it’s why the strawhats lost in Sabaody.
If advance conquerors haki was the power which took luffy clashing with ulti to splitting sky with kaido( yonko level), so that means zoro is yonko level too?!!
No
What more could Luffy do with Haki at this point? Kaido even commented that Luffy was using coated in armament and conqueror's haki while in Gear 5th. The remainder of this battle is likely just one of attrition. Any further haki advances for Luffy at this point would be overkill
This line from Kaido can be taken as a parallel to Crocodile's statement about how controlling your devil fruit is the way to go.
No, Crocodile just said that anyone with a fruit power can become on powerful depending on how you use it, it doesnt matter what the power is (Croco never once made fun of Luffy’s rubber power but the fact he cant hit him because he hasn’t trained enough)
And as seen, Haki can be easily combined with devil fruits
That would be actually nice
@@commentingaccount1383 It's his 4th round in onigashima (3 times unconscious). 5th round in Wano.

he not only didn't get his head taken by Kaido to prove his point as he had said after the last time luffy beat him(because he was too emotional over the seemly oden situation repeat) and not only managed to get back on his feet he also got a boost and recovered some because it triggered his awakening
to close off possibilites because you can't think of a way to go around more technical literal aspects just sounds silly at points when Oda gets so wild with it at times

At the end of the series, Luffy's haki should have been comparable to that of Roger, with the addition of the absurd Nika df
Luffy has everything in this series, everything
Color of Armament + Advanced Color of Armament (Internal Destruction and Barrier)
Color of Observation + Advanced Color of Observation (Future Sight and ? Voice of All Things ?)
Color of Conqueror + Advanced Color of Conqueror (Coating)
Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika = A Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit (Rarest Devil Fruit) with powers from both Paramecia and Logia Devil Fruits
Luffy's Devil Fruit Awakening can both change the enviroment (Doflamingo and Katakuri) and living beings (Law and Kidd)
Luffy HAS EVERYTHING
and half of this was gained in just Wano alone
even if we say luffy needs a final push in the haki department he has the advanced form of all 3 haki, what can he possibly do more than that?
I think now is just a matter of how strong is your ambition (haki)
@@Slashx92 or there is more than advance CoC , maybe next level?
Smooth af ad integration right there 👌
I don’t think this will be a case of luffy actually taking a loss here to kaido, I think this is going to be another fight like katakuri where luffy using his advanced conquerors in battle would get more proficient with it and I imagine after seeing everyone that’s fallen in this raid luffy’s will is going to be very strong he did say he will defeat him no matter what
Kaido: in his base form, eyes blacked out, body covered in blood, utterly broken
Narrator: Skull Dome, Rooftop Battle. Victor: Strawhat Luffy
Mr. Morj: Here is why Luffy loses.
Look at that positive video title
@@bmuhammadthariqhumaid4670 true
@@KaiserReb I agree for law's power. What i mean big mom got crushed by literaly any of kid's attack.
Idk maybe we overlooked big mom in wci becuase of her iron body feats that a regular attack cant scratch big mom , and in this case law damaged big mom so bad that kid can break big mom's body (bone)
Luffy clashing with ulti was also luffy learning to get serious he had no business head butting a pro headbutter if he punched her seriously with ryo it’s different
Haki is important as per the story oda is writing..... But luffy is indeed more defined by his DF not haki.
that thumbnail is amazing. I love the way G5 Luffy is grabbing the haki lightning
Given my man, Morj's unbreakable spirit, I strongly want him to succeed with his raid fail theory :P
😂 He took a turn he cannot come back from. And Pride comes before a fall.
@@ksaifu he had prove it once.
and will prove it again! The raid will fail👍
Well, even in the introduction of Haki, it was shown to be more important than a DF because it's directly connected to a person's spirit and will.
"Luffy needs another haki powerup"
Bruh, what else is there? He's splitting the skies, he has mastery over the haki branches, he has had like 4 massive powerups against kaido alone. He needs no more to beat kaido.
I mean, no one expected that advanced CoC would be like that. There's no telling what else Oda could have in store for Haki advancement
But in the end, he won with a strong punch in his new form...
The strong punch won’t mean shit if he’s not using advance armament and advance conquerors🤷♂️it will be like in kuri lmao so haki > df
Yea but kaido isn’t a dragon ball or bleach character
Its so satiafying how Kaido doesn't even consider blackboard among the top tiers
I don't think fruits matter much beyond how showy someone's fighting style is, each character will be as powerful as the story needs them to be
Take Sanji, doesn't matter if he got Enels fruit, he'd still be the no3 in the SHs because that's his purpose in the story
If Luffy didn't have a fruit he'd still end the story just as stro g as he will with the Nika fruit because that's his purpose in the story
Up until this week it didn't matter if Roger had a fruit or not, we knew he was at the top whether he had a fruit or not
Same for Rocks
And so on... Fruits are mostly just rly cool fighting style transmogs (like a sword, club or a gun) and rather than ppl calculating a fruits power ppl should ask themselves where any given character fits in the story
True
I'd like to believe Oda can still write without relying on convenience that heavily...But you are right that in current one piece the only thing that matters is convenience.
I know where Blackbeard fits in the story and people should get ready cuz he's about to shake the whole world lmao
Finally someone gets it
@@DIVAD291 thats not what i said, its not convenience, its something inherent to a planned written story
@@magnumopus788 amen brother
And we all know luffy is insane willpower comparable to wb, roger, etc
@@NaoshikuuAnimations
Another powerup?? Bruh he's already had 3 and Kaido has fought 14 people not including Luffy
@@thetruth997_ , Luffy needs to have fully awakened Conquers Haki, so that way he’ll be beat Kaido one v one with or without his Awakened Devil Fruit abilities.
@@thetruth997_ so? He's called 'The Strongest Creature' for a reason y'know. And i'm glad Oda delivers
That's actually a really good thought
Yea that’s not happening lol
@@zentempo7902 Thanks. I understand it's a perspective most people won't agree with even if I explain my reasons clearly but thats how I see the arc playing out.
Maybe with a big display of haki when he sees Kaido hurting his crew.
That's wild
i have a theory that conqueror's haki gets stronger the more people believe in you, sort of like a spirit bomb from DBZ.
