- F1 Teams used to be able to bring a spare car along with them to race weekends incase the worst should happen and a car is damaged beyond repair. But why can't they do this anymore? Amber dives into it!

Albon has a spare car tho
Someone seems to have put the number 2 sticker on it 👀
😢
Excellent job 👏, that comment is funny and... sad but true.
Full disclaimer: The bit at the end is VERY misleading. Even if spare cars were still allowed, Williams would still not have 2 cars to start the race since they couldn't even manufacture a third chassis, James Vowles and the rest of the world was very clear too about the chassis situation.
If Williams couldn't manufacture a third chassis, where would they even get the parts to make a spare car?
If even the team with low tier budget want the spare car..then they should bring the spare car back LOL….since the cost cap supposed to help the low tier budget team to level the game 😂😂😂
That's why they use parent teams. Lol
The most important question is why teams are not using more than 2 cars for racing? Why not use 3 cars per team? the grand prix would be more competitive!
I think the rules should allow for one spare car that can only be used if one of the main cars is damaged to the point it can’t be fixed during practice or qualifying. If a car fails during the race itself the spare vehicle can’t be used. That way if something does go wrong before the race there is a chance for teams to use a spare car but if something goes wrong during a race then that is it. You either fix it or that car and driver is out for the race.
"At the 2010 Monaco Grand Prix ..." shows a desert circuit 👏
Love that this video is only 3 minutes.
I forget i was still subscribe to this channel
this is a great topic and brillantly explained. i don't have an opinion on this but if max were running with sergio's car, it could be atrocious for f1's reputation. if an old rule should be back on f1, i would prefer fuel pit-stop, for the complexity of the strategy side of the sport. all team have super computers who give them the perfect tyres strategy regarding tyre's degradation, which is almost the same for everyone because there is only one brand providing tyres. so additional ingredients could lead in more various strategies.
It's terribly explained, given the *deceitful* section toward the end. They make it seem like James Vowles is arguing for the re-introduction of spare cars, when in fact he was taking responsibility for the team not having produced and brought a spare chassis (which is allowed) at the race in order to rebuild Albon's car. WTF1 know very well that T-cars being allowed would have in no way changed the situation Williams found themselves in, because they simply hadn't been able produce enough parts to get close to building a third car.
Surely they could have a spare "Chassis".
The T cars were always built up and ready to go.
What happened to wtf1? Low views and I never see their videos recommended anymore
they changed their presenters. The old presenters have a new channel... You can guess the rest

I'd reintroduce T cars in F1, it's just like the spare bike MotoGP riders have.
bring back the spare cars!
Yeah nascar seems to have it so why not f1?
no, spare cars don't seem like a good idea. glad it isn't a thing anymore x)
Wow...
stupid rules
