Coldplay - The scientist
Capo: 5th fret
Strumming: Only downstrokes (one and two and three and four and)
Verse:
Am (One and two and three and four and) 1x
F (One and two and...) 1x
C (One and two and...) 2x, second time middle finger off
Verse is played two times.
Chorus:
F (One and two and…) 2x
C (One and two and…) 2x, second time middle finger off
F (One and two and…) 2x
C (One and two and…) 2x, second time middle finger off
G (One and two and three and four and one, rest)
Outrow(spelling?) of the chorus:
C (One and two and…) 1x
F (One and two and…) 1x
C (One and two and…) 2x, second time middle finger off
Am (One and two and…) 1x
F (One and two and…) 1x
C (One and two and…) 2x, second time middle finger off
Am (Only one downstroke to finish)
Extras: When switching between F and C, instead of last strum play D-string followed by open G-string.
It was more extras included but you’ll have to watch the video to get those included.
I wrote this down to memorize the chord changes, it helped me alot so i thought maybe it might help someone else aswell. Peace!

I often wondered why no one demonstrating does this. It would definitely be helpful be able to use what you’ve just learned by being able to play the song along with your instructor after the lesson. I’m betting it would make the site more popular than the competition.
I've gotta admit I've given up with a couple songs where I've learnt the whole song but cant for some reason okay it all together 😂

Guitar classes give you more likely a good basis. And when it goes about any musical instrument it's necessary to have perfect basic skills to become a good musician.

Great tutorial as always Marty. I learned this a while back, using the capo at the 3rd but playing this way allows you to easily add in the little extra notes to make it sound more like the original track. Keep up the good work and continued good luck on your journey.

I found that when pulling the middle finger off on the C is you change the root note to a B for the last two beats it sounds very nice. Turning it from Csus2 to Csus2/B

Great simple way of playing the scientist! And also sounds great in acoustic + vocals. Great teacher as well.
For those who have a hard time lifting off for the extra bit after F, There is almost an identical sound if you just (Strum F) Remove Ring finger (Strum) Remove Middle finger (Strum) Then you are able to just move right up into C chord.

I found it easier to play D, G, D, dsus4... All the way through. Capo on 3rd frett with an A ending the chorus (nobody knew it would be this hard) then nothing as you sing, take me back to the start... Then right back into the chords I mentioned above... Stick to Marty's strumming pattern though, that's gold!
