Veste Coburg , Germany 🇩🇪 by Drone 4K

The Veste Coburg (Coburg Fortress) is one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses of Germany. It is situated on a hill above the town of Coburg, in Franconia, Bavaria.
The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1056. In 1353 it became the property of the House of Wettin. Because of its strategic importance it was enlarged over the next 150 years to become one of the largest castle complexes in Germany. After the court transferred to the city in the 16th century, the castle served solely as a state fortress.
One of its most famous guests was the reformer Luther, who worked on his translation of the Bible here in 1530 during the Diet of Augsburg. It was not until the reign of Duke Ernst I (1806-1844) that any further significant building work was undertaken. In the 18th century, Karl Alexander von Heideloff renovated the castle in a highly ornamental neo-Gothic style.

To fly there it's just the Regular procedure, register your drone and yourself as a pilot, don't fly near crowds etc. Then it should be no problem to fly

..... I was there, many, many times early '72 through Dec. '74 ... Was stationed in Bamberg, in the
2/2 Armoured Calvary Regiment, H Company, H34, M60-A1 main battle tank ... Did border duty and patrol in and around Colberg ... Watched East German guards in their guard towers, watching us in our guard shack, as we watched each other with binoculars ...
The twin fences of the borders were somewhere near 100 or more yards apart... With, what I was told, antipersonnel mines, truck and tank mines in the center of the fences ... Their guard towers were placed in sight of each other, for good view coverage ...
I look back now, at Bamberg, a World Heritage Site, and all those beautiful towns and cities of castles, cobble stone, hills, mountains, bratwurst, and bier as my most cherished time of my life .....

I am originally from Hof, met my former hubby (who was also stationed in Bamberg), when he was on border guard. Just went back to visit for three weeks and spent a couple of days in Coburg. Rich in history and so, so beautiful.
