It’s a Webley lock knife, the little serated notch piece in the handle closes the blade when depressed.

When I was in elementary school in rural England every boy carried a knife and that was normal, sometimes a sheath knife, and used it to sharpen their pencil and played Split the Kipper at lunch time. Young lady needed a pencil done then the boy did it for them. No one ever got hurt or damaged. Nice to see your video, lost you for a while. Those Webley knives are quite well respected. Must have been a landowners or Fox hunters favorite brand.

Good few finds there Cleggy. Not only a knife but a stone to sharpen it on. Almost like popping down to the Ironmongers. 👍

I think the triangular stone is a piece of very old floortile.

Webley also made pretty decent air rifles too.

    Hi clegg
The word on the knife blade is Wembly and you should not be digging with your bare hands
You could easily have cut yourself on that blade
    All the very best

The knife appears to have a liner lock. Push the serrated metal liner to the side to close it.

Here in the UK it depends on how large it is and you will need to have a plausible excuse to carry a large knife
