Past Simple Passive
Passive voice
+ Past Simple: There are three main uses of the Past Simple
- A finished action in the past
- Actions that follow each other in a story.
- A past situation or habit.
1. Active: Someone took you to Phnom Penh yesterday.
Passive: You were taken to Phnom Penh yesterday.
2. Active: Shakespeare wrote Hamlet in 1601.
Passive: Hamlet was written by Shakespeare.
3. Active: They lent Sam a good book.
Passive: Sam was lent a good book.
A good book was lent to Sam.
Form: Sub + was/were + Vpp + (by agent).

Yes, you can. I don't use in 1601 because I don't want you to find it messy, but mostly adverb of time comes at the end of each sentence.
Hamlet was written by Shakespeare in 1601 (more natural).

Yesterday is Adv of time, so time usually comes at the end of the sentence. For speaking, no problem, but it is a bit confusing if it comes at the beginning of the sentence.

Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet.
(You are interested in Shakespeare not Romeo and Juliet)
