Hey man! Just wanted to drop some progress for ya! Since I bought a 100 pound sandbag in the beginning of the year, I’ve gotten up to 150 pounds for 3 reps each side of Ground To Shoulder and now at 170 pounds and starting off at 1 again currently. @@saiketbiswas8444definitely something special about being further out there. Makes me wonder what it must have been like before large cities, did people just always feel that way as a baseline? 😮

Another great video brother! Just an idea on your future workouts, but have you tried incorporating crawls and get ups? Both have so many amazing benefits, but both movements are in the often neglected transverse plane as well as more than one plane of motion. Both use just about the entire body and greatly increase mobility and joint robustness. The crawls especially work contralateral movement which has a ton of benefits for your brain and coordination. It also feels great on my back, especially if it's sore or stiff. But i've been loving doing bear crawls with sandbag pull throughs. For the get ups, i've been using a kettlebell, but will start now with a sandbag to up the challenge and to translate over to my MMA training. I've found that sandbags seem to be the best and most realistic fitness implement that carries over well for mma training imo. Hope all is well and always love seeing your videos!
Hey thank you! I spent a while working with the animal movement stuff a while back and it really was a lot of fun, I should have tried bear crawling up this mountain too haha woulda been awesome. Combining it with a sandbag sounds badass though I will have to try that, getups too!
Sprinting up hills = win win win. I was doing it on sand hills at the beach the other day… round after round, fukn amazing cardio while also killing the leg muscles
It's like a real life cheat code, I ate so much food during those few days I was up there and came back weighing less lol. Lots of sprinting and carries! I don't think I've ever actually done hill sprints on sand, it seems like an even more intense way to do it!
@@thestonecircle awesome man And yeah it’s hard to even call them sprints when done on loose sand uphill haha.. the intent of sprinting is there, the speed surely isn’t
I've been thinking. The sprint is basically the best full body exercise one can do. But if they weather it's lousy or life gets in the way, I might've found an alternative at home - punching bag. Both are very intense, impact-heavy (sprinting is basically your feet punching the ground), train strength, explosiveness, cardio; and of course, both are highly holistic. And both have a very practical use outside of training as well. (: It's obviously not a 1:1 relationship, but I think it's worth looking into.
Love your outdoor training area. That total barefoot running you're doing there is so rad and so hardcore. Totally gnarly! 🤘 Though I wear only zero drop barefoot shoes when I train (and for everything else), I've still yet to build up my feet callouses to go total barefoot, though, that is in the works. There's just something about it. Something about training outdoors under the trees; under the wide open sky. I suppose it's the total sense of freedom. That, and just being outdoors. 😁 It''s summer. And here in the southeast, though, it's hot as $h!t, half the time, I'll drag my equipment out into the backyard and train out there. Sweat like hell with the sun beating my ass to the ground. But as long as I have sunscreen and proper hydration, I'm good to go. The plus is that the heat doesn't bother me as much anymore as I'm now getting used to it. Anyhow, great commentary, as always. Keep on rockin'! 🤘
Hey thank you! I agree 100% training outside just hits so different. I'm working on getting used to barefoot shoes too, still haven't worked up to walking on concrete all day with them but in the woods it just feels right haha. I get that heat too, I spent a couple years in Florida a while back and trained outside all year, it sucks a lot but you get used to it eventually :D
Very inspiring! I hate the gym and prefer heavy, steep hikes in the woods. This will be perfect to add to my weekly program. Am I correct to assume that you have read the fantastic book "The Frontiersmen" at least three times? ;)
Hey awesome!! I usually warm up in the same way I would for any heavy lifting, this video goes over it if you're interested! ruclips.net/video/WFimVSzir2I/видео.htmlsi=qaAlL7r7QySpcxVv I also usually prefer to put carries after some kind of other heavy work which helps with being warmed up
I spent a couple years in a tropical climate, I probably wouldn't mess with the logs at all aha, not worth it. With rocks though I used the 'roll and run' method, roll it over quick and run away until whatever was on it leaves. Repeat for reps haha 😄 . I found a giant black widow under a stone here recently, always gotta be careful! Sandbags could be a good alternative
@@thestonecircle yeah here is brasil(serra da tiririca) so dense rainforest, stuff is humid, decaying and full of venomous things, i'll stick to rucking, sandbags and surviving xD your stuff is super inspiring man keep it up, shoulder carrying sandbags 3x a week has been doing wonders for me!
okay so i wanna ask you this. Im still young under 16. Is this good for me too? and also i have talked with a coach from some sport i play and when i get a little older he wants to coach me in the gym to with squats and deadlifts and other movements. I probably wont do these workouts with very heavy weight as he and someone else explained pretty good how if your young its better to focus on building that endurance and preparing your body for heavy lifting so when you get olders its easier to do it without injuries (which i have had a lot). My coach said things like pull ups and dips are very good which i will keep doing. And for legs they say to do a lot of things like biking sprinting running footwork and also they want me to do a lot of things like lunges. So this is my question do you think that if i use logs and stuff for some lunges and basic work i wouldnt be doing that heavy weight but would that work good for overall preparing my body for later heavier lifting?
Hey that sounds like some great advice! It really just depends where you're at. If you're trying to work more towards strength endurance rather than max strength, basic Bodyweight might be enough. If you get to the point where Bodyweight is too easy though adding some weight might allow you to reach your goals in a lot less time. It sounds like you have a smart coach I'd listen to him 🙂
@@thestonecircle surely will listen to him. He says to mainly focus on preparing my body for heavier lifting when im 15-16 which i agree with so more about doing exercising and adding some weight. He says that i can try to build more muscle but along side should chose exercises that build my body without having much injury risk at first as he can not coach me yet. still gonna be killing it and no excuse to not train hard!!
I saw some of your youtube videos and I find your training interesting, I am a small youtube creator in the fitness niche myself and wanted to know if you would like to record a video call that we could post on RUclips.
That's a great comparison! I like the idea of the feet punching the ground
It''s summer.
Where do you live? Looks beautiful there.
Colorado 🙂 Growing up in the Midwest this place still looks like it shouldn't exist to me haha
Ok..this. Is. Awesome. Lifting combined with medieval costumes? If this is the future, sign me up.
I want this to be the future so bad 😁
@@thestonecircle We’ll make it happen! One brocade lifting belt and tankard of mead at a time.

most of this is identical to what the romans trained like, especially for gladiators in a ludus.

Hey man, great Video!
Where did you get your clothes from?
Hey thank you! These things are awesome 🙂

Very inspiring! I hate the gym and prefer heavy, steep hikes in the woods. This will be perfect to add to my weekly program. Am I correct to assume that you have read the fantastic book "The Frontiersmen" at least three times? ;)
Hey glad you liked it! Not a fan of the gym myself either haha. I actually haven't but I will now!!
Cool
💪
Just discovered your channel and I have started to do loaded carries with a kettlebell. Was just wondering how do you warm up fr your loaded carries.
Hey awesome!! I usually warm up in the same way I would for any heavy lifting, this video goes over it if you're interested! ruclips.net/video/WFimVSzir2I/видео.htmlsi=qaAlL7r7QySpcxVv
I also usually prefer to put carries after some kind of other heavy work which helps with being warmed up
At 2:28 what’s the those pants called and where you get them? Link?
Highly recommend them!

How does your tipical day of eating looks like?
Pretty much always the same, protein cereal for breakfast and some kind of rice or pasta for dinner 🙂
how u deal with bugs?
here in the tropical jungles move a rock you can die and logs are full of life
I spent a couple years in a tropical climate, I probably wouldn't mess with the logs at all aha, not worth it. With rocks though I used the 'roll and run' method, roll it over quick and run away until whatever was on it leaves. Repeat for reps haha 😄 . I found a giant black widow under a stone here recently, always gotta be careful! Sandbags could be a good alternative
@@thestonecircle yeah here is brasil(serra da tiririca) so dense rainforest, stuff is humid, decaying and full of venomous things, i'll stick to rucking, sandbags and surviving xD
your stuff is super inspiring man keep it up, shoulder carrying sandbags 3x a week has been doing wonders for me!

What is the kind of shirt you have in a lot of the clips? The log lifting clips specifically.
Anything from the brand Mytholon is usually good! Medieval collectibles is a good reseller

Time for some outdoor winter training here soon :)
lol "Set a timer for 10 minutes and do as many pull ups as you can" oh boy I don't need 10 minutes to hit that number. I need like 10 seconds.
Haha that works too! Even if you just get one rep every 30 seconds, thats still 20 good reps and next time you can try for 21 :)
Bro where do you get these medieval clothes🙏🙏🙏 i needa get smth like that
Seriously best pants ever www.medievalcollectibles.com/product/ketill-canvas-pants/ the wraps and shirt are from the brand mytholon too

okay so i wanna ask you this.
Just going over your training, experience and if you could help me create a similar program I can test out?
Hey thanks for reaching out! At the moment I'm lost for time trying to get my book through its final stages, but after that I'd love to!
@thestonecircle Awesome, good luck with your new book! I follow you so I definitely will check it out once completed.
