Living in Bangkok, Thailand is definitely DIFFERENT from what we are used to back home, in America. I'm Thai and living in USA. I definitely agree with you guys. If you can make money in USD and live in Thailand, it is absolutely heaven.

But Thai or any foreigners who make in Baht and living in Thailand (locals) are miserable. The cost of living is crazy high for many Thais, and you guys (those who earn in USD) will only make inflation worse over there in a long run.
Earning in Baht would be challenging. I can only imagine 😬

I’ve been following you since your first RUclips video three months ago, and what sets you apart from other RUclipsrs is how you truly embrace local cultures.
You open up to see, try, and taste new things. Living like locals is not easy, but you’ve done well so far. Politeness is something you can easily find in most Asian countries, but I personally think that the kindness of local Thais is something unique, and I see this same kindness in both of you too.

It sad to see what's happening in Amerca now. I have a couple of friends living in Seattle and San Francisco for almost 10 years. They're thinking about moving back to Thailand since the city has changed so much and homeless are everywhere. They're not feel safe anymore just like you. I think you made the right decision and I'm so happy for both of you & Mr. Bruno too.❤

Totally agree as a small business owner here. The inflation hit us hard. It’s almost impossible to maintain a healthy work - life balance here as well.That’s why we’re planning to move back to Thailand soon. And you two are part of the reason we’re moving back. As a Thai, my advice to you is to learn some Thai language. Once you've learnt some Thai, you will be able to make more Thai friends. Then, travel outside BKK to meet with other Thais, especially in rural areas. For example, in northern and issan regions, local people will treat you as one of the family. Try and experience some homestays with the local, and then you will have a new perspective of Thai hospitality. Enjoy your time here.

I totally understand what you said. The safety of life and property is the first priority to consider. No place is 100% safe but America nowadays i(especially big cities) is too dangerous 😑

I'm Thai a former thai restaurant owner in Bay area. I saw so many hatred toward asian and SF is just get worse. I decided to sell everything amd moved back to Thailand in 2019 when pendamic shutdown happened. I never regret it i think one of the best decision i've made. I'm glad that you chose thailand and good luck with your new life in Thailand

As someone who's been living in Bangkok for 10 years now, I agree with everything you said. And as much as we hate what's happening in the US, American's should not forget that the US is still the land of economic prosperity. For example, the US has 1 of the best retirement systems in the world (ie. stock options in their 401k, roth IRA, social security/pension, etc). This is why so many Americans are able to "retire early" and are now living abroad. They have built their wealth in America and are able to live off of interest and/or their real estate cash flow. The opportunity to build wealth isn't something that's available to most people that are from cheaper, lower cost of living countries. Just my opinion as a dual citizen (US and Thailand).
Ofc! We still love America! But with everything going on right now, it’s just not the place we want to me right now.

Thanks for sharing your story. I totally understand what you meant coz I almost got mugged on the street many times when I lived in the States. But, in reality, Bangkok has its own serious problems too, like inflation, traffics, pollutions, drugs, robberies, violence... you just have to watch local news. I guess locals here have "Sabai sabai" (relaxed/easy going) attitude and just deal with life with possitivity. I'm glad you found peace in Bangkok, but please be careful and take a good care of yourselves. Looking forward to more awesome videos❤

Glad to hear that you love Thailand, but sad to hear that living in the US is not pleasant anymore. I used to live in SF Bay area. The weather and the city was very nice (but recently I heard that the area is not good like before). Many of my Thai friends who still there decided when they retire, they will come back and live in Thailand. With $2-3k/mth from Social Security and their savings, they will live happily for sure😊😊😊.

In the past, there were pickpockets who were caught by the police as tourists from neighboring countries. After getting their stuff, they would fly back to their country and come back every now and then. However, you have to be careful when going to crowded places.

Good Episode Guys...U guys are sincere and really need to place to escape. South East Asia have many countries for u to explore but yes Thailand is really a place to be. Me coming from Singapore have fallen in love with Thailand. My country is also a very stressful when comes to work and standard of living is high too but definitely a safe country. My love thailand is like u, people are lovely and great, friendly and their culture , food and etc etc. Thailand is definitely a safe place as long Respect giving and vice versa. Dun be like those cases that do stupid things that hurt the people of thailand. I hope you guys enjoy the land of smiles to the max. As a local, I can say it's pretty safe here. Sure, there are some sketchy areas, but most of the troublemakers are just scared of foreigners because they don't have much education and can't speak English. So, you'll be totally fine!

When people ask, Is Thailand safe? I think we can tell them this. Thailand has 14,000+ 7-11s that open 24/7 absolutely everywhere whether in big cities, small towns or countryside.

Born and raised in Bkk. Moved to Los Angeles back in 2001. In the past 4 year I went back to Thailand many times. Most of the time I spent two months at least in Thailand. Cost of living in the US are insane now. Tax and consumer product price went up and seem it not going to stop. That kill everything. I plan to move back very soon.
My saving money will stay longer in Thailand without working. I totally agree with you for all about California thing that getting worse and worse.

We’re in the same boat. We live in California and just visited Thailand to research it as a place to retire in 7 years. We loved it and we felt much safer. Maybe we can speed up the retirement timeline if we can figure out health insurance. Can’t wait for that day.

I'd say, Buddhism plays a huge role when it comes to the vibe you experience in our country... Maybe getting to know our language as well as a glimpse of Buddhism might make you understand why all those reasons you mentioned in this clip make sense( you love it here,right? Hehe).

I agree with you in everything. I have lived in California for 17 years and have seen things change in the negatively. There are a lot of homeless camp down on the road and make more problems, it is too bad. The food prices are so horrible, one Thai dish is around $15, even Mcdonald's charges for the ketchup. People are too crazy about politics etc.
I plan to go back to Chiang Mai soon, hopefully I can see you guys one day. Have a wonderful time and be safe in Thailand.

Hey Caroline & Anthony, it's awesome to hear that you guys enjoy living in Thailand. But just to let you aware that in Thailand, we also have those similar situations (if only you can read Thai news. Oh yeah!) So just need to be careful and be cautious wherever you go, and don't let your guard down too much. And just a little bit to share, about a year ago, after about 35 years in the US, my wife and I also decided to move back to Thailand, our motherland, to be close with and to take care of our elders. We miss our friends and places in the US (we lived in a nice small university town, we loved it there) but anyway we know that it's the right decision for us to move back. We, so far, enjoy being here as well. Please keep doing what you do (your YT Vids), they are quite adorable and fun to watch. Hmm! I give it a 9.9999, hahaha just kidding, 10 for you guys :). And please continue having a wonderful time in your new home, Thailand.

Welcome to Thailand. I must say that kindness and hospitality are indeed the highlights of Thai people. Crimes may occur, but they are usually minor and not that violent and Thailand has many regions. I would recommend The North for a slow life style of travel, ancient but charming and The South has beautiful seas and interesting underwater activities, though the prices might be slightly higher in tourist areas. I hope you will have a wonderful time in Thailand.

It always delights me to know that people have discovered their true happiness. In Thailand we have a proverb that says “People inside want to leave. People outside want to enter". Many Thai people of the new generation want to move to America or the West. Thai people more than 30 years ago are very different from now. When social media has more influence on Thai society. They became more aggressive by hiding behind the internet. They are more mean to each other. It began to become violent in a way that we had never experienced before. Over the past 3-4 years, there has been a mass shooting that has happened once a year. There is a series of murders taking place. I understand that these are things that must happen as we move forward. Although the number is still small, we cannot predict the future. I understand that everything has a price to pay. When society develops in this direction, there must be trade-offs. Sorry if my expressions seem strange because I use a translation application. May you be happy where you choose. Even I get paid a lot in the US but after paying all the bills, I feel like I work hard to pay living expenses. Living in Thailand for me is heaven.. Staying with family.
