    I would recommend to pick a loved one (living or deceased, still in touch or have grown apart, etc.), close your eyes and think of a flash memory about that person for one measure. Once the note changes, you let another random memory pop in your head. You can do it as long or as short for anyone and it doesn’t mean that you love them any less. It was just really refreshing to let myself feel the love I have that I sometimes lose sight/don’t give the proper attention to. Grandparents, ex-girlfriends, middle school mates that I’ve drifted from, the friends that I’m active with now, it went on and on. This tracking really helped me STOP, to breathe, and to think over and be grateful for the people I have in my life. Even if there were sad or angry memories, if I consider them a loved on, they came up with much more happy memories than bad.

    This is a classic chord progression used in countless movies as background music over the years. I am not being disrespectful in any way. It is a testament to it being 'epic'!

    For more experienced bass "students" , this may seem boring. However, this gives me enough time to improvise all kinds of different ways using the simple E minor scale. Thanks!

    So...like those who came and went before me...I too, am stuck on this groove. I have this in my head while I'm making eggs, cleaning the cat box, brushing my teeth. I've played all kinds of stuff over this. Thanks for making this!

    This is epic - finally an emotional backing track that allows for ultimate melodic creativity. It's really long which is great for constant thinking. There is nothing worse than a backing track that's over just as you start to get a feel. Keep making these, best practice track I've ever used. Keep in mind I tour most of the year so the level of conscience with this is also awesome. Thanks!!! Keep these long track coming!! 👍🏻

    • @BestBackingTracks
      @BestBackingTracks  3 года назад +1

      Hey Mark - the best investment for your guitar practice of any style, no matter how new or experienced you are with the instrument is a metronome. Plenty of free apps for both Android and iPhone. Just start slowly, strum each beat/half beat and slowly increase the tempo. Decide on a set of strumming patterns and do five minutes non-stop of each. Yeah, it may be a little boring at first with just basic chord shapes, but nothing is stopping you learning/practicing new chords whilst you do it!
      It is an incredible tool for building chops that will come in handy later on when you are shredding solos.

      and G major is the relative major to E minor. You can really see it as either. I personally call it a i-VI-III-VII progression in Em because it makes more sense to me, starting on the tonic and all, but some will treat natural minor (Aeolian) as if it were Ionian.

    kind of a beginner here trying to tie in the caged system with key progressions. Thinking the C# sounds like crap and C sounds okay and since C & D are the fourth and 5th respectively of the G major scale then isn't this in the key of G major and not in Em?
    i realize they are relative minors of course & they are almost the same but if it was in Em key then we should be playing A & B and not C & D no?
