Honestly, because of the layout, this is one of my favorite class c motor homes I’ve ever seen. The bathroom doesn’t bother me. It’s the toilet paper holder. If they’d leave it off and leave it up to the buyer would be better.

Love how the kitchen kinda makes its own area with the L shape and makes a nice diversity between it and the bedroom actually looks like a little apartment shows they are really putting some thought and new ideas into the RV market which is solely needed props to the designers and great video Matt and Andrea without theses we would never know they existed.

I agree, I like the floor plan. The living room area for real conversation, the kitchen like in a modern apartment can still be involved with the conversation, and the bedroom is kept private! I am going to seriously consider this one. I've owned a Coachman before and was very happy with it.

Holy cow man!! I'm in love with this one! A killer of a floorplan!
Likes: side cameras, fridge size, oven, dinette, every bit of that kitchen, the shoe caddy by the door, washer/dryer hookup king bed
Dislikes: the lack of outside storage, no wet bay for water hookup, HATE the bathroom door!!!!

I love this Class C. The best floor plan I've seen in a Class C.. The layout is great and the color scheme is very nice. I don't think you can improve on this much. I think they really nailed it on this design.
    Likes:
    Love the dinette
Swivel seats - Electric stabilizers both important features to us
King size bed is awesome and the bedroom itself is terrific
    Dislikes:
The outside storage. There is never good storage in a Class C and I guess they did the best they could
The bathroom door is not ideal. Pocket doors are the best but I don't think it would work here.
    I don't have a third!

I love the new floor plan including the J Lounge table and the fact you sit across from each other. I like the new kitchen layout, it offers more counter space and it's very innovative. Love the king size bed and the big shower and I also love the fact that Coachmen uses azdel. I hate the small amount of storage but I love the cargo carrying capacity. Not a fan of the bathroom door either. Apparently the toilet paper holder was in the way of Matt gaining his three p's. I don't know why they make the top of the awning black because that draws and Heat. Overall, above the cut and had a great price point too. I love the new stickers and it's about time that Aundrea gains her equal billing! As always, I love you two and you're honest reviews for the public! ❤👍👏

    Likes:
    1) The unique layout! It wasn't until I saw a couple of those 5th wheel layouts, and especially this one, that I realized how much most RV's have a tunnel-like feeling inside.
    A) I like the "risque" kitchen with an angle. They've made it feel like everything is setup for using it and not just stuff stuck to the walls.
    B) I always love having a sofa (optional theater seating?) directly across from a large TV.
    C) The bedroom setup makes it feel like two distinct rooms, instead of one big box with stuff crammed in.
    i) The bedroom has a TRUE King Size Bed
ii) And it's prepped for a combo washer/dryer too? In a class C?!?!
    2) The rear end!
    A) LED taillights
    B) Box bumper
    C) Properly located ladder (not 3 feet up to the first step Big Country )
    3) The full camera setup outside.
    Dislikes:
    1) I have to agree on the bathroom door. I know they did it because there's not room in the bedroom for a normal door to swing open, but I'd rather see a pocket door or "barn door" design or something.
    2) This is specific to me, as I realize that not every RV is built to appeal to just me, but I don't like the cab-over bunk. I've no use for it except as storage I suppose, so I'd rather it be much smaller allowing for a more aerodynamic profile.
    3) I have to nitpick for this one, but I don't like the light piping on the upholstery.
I did not cheat! I only have 3 likes! :D

Hey Matt and Andrea, great job as always! One thing I really hate is that the door to the bedroom doesn't go to the ceiling. I'm sure it's for air flow for the A/C and heat, but it still really bothers me. Love the floor plan and the fact that one can have a W/D in a class C. Living in Mexico for the last 16 years, but planning on returning to the US with my 14 yr old daughter sometime this year. She hasn't been to the states since she was 5 and has never seen changing seasons or snow. Hope to purchase an RV and travel full time for at least a year and then see from there. Keep up the good work!

We just purchased this same motorhome in a 2021 year model, basically the same as the one in the video but ours has 2 recliners in place of the couch and the seat cushions are cream instead of brown (which lightens up the space). The fridge is 12v only, I wasn't sure about that at first since we are familiar with 3 way rv fridges but it is fantastic, constant temp and quiet. Floor plan is ideal for maximizing space. Separation between living room and bedroom is ideal. Love the Big shower. Will be changing out the short shower hose and replacing it with a higher quality hose and head. Bathroom door is no problem, TP holder has got to go, will be finding a new spot for it. We just took a thousand mile trip with "0" problems. ABSOLUTELY LOVE this coach, couldn't be happier!!!

    1)Love the unique kitchen layout.
    2) Kitchen backsplash area needs optional easy clean tiles and Corriane counter
    3) Overhead cab area needs a sky window and netting for pets/children
    4) I have severe PTSD and every slide out has a grinding high pitch noise that hurts and triggers me. If slides could be muffled it would be awesome

Fantastic floor plan!! All about the separate back bedroom area. C class are my jam! Front area dining kitchen amazing!! Love the kitchen curve. Feels retro but not kitschy. Easy to work in. Want to see more like this. Split king bed?!! what is that like to sleep on? Too bad I can’t sleep incognito with out the slide out pushed open. Really like the fact both slides work on one switch mine are separate. Lots of wasted space by the washer dryer that could go I would never use that. Curious what the fresh water tank capacity is. Longer bath or separate toilet entrance facing front would be better. Designing these would be a dream. Love this $#!t!!! Outer doors are off I agree. Swivel Captains chairs very cool. I like the step up. Feels cozy that’s just me. Fun channel. Next RV is coming from you two.

So this pretty well is a stretched 260ds from coachman. By extending it you get the space for the king bed and the area for the optional combo washer/dryer. You do lose about 700 pounds cargo carrying capacity but you get a full time or long time camper. I like the 12 volt residential fridge, the tv position and a optional theater seating sofa. And, wait for it, the bathroom door allows you to use the bathroom with the slides closed. It’s a funky door but otherwise you wouldn’t get into the bathroom without the slide out. This door changes that to usability at some operational expense. Great review and very glad you did this as this or the leprechaun version hasn’t had to many reviews. The leprechaun version is 298kb by the way.

Hi Matt, Hi Andrea. I do love that Coachman is trying a new floorplan - it’s just a bit hit and miss. Hit: the front half, Miss: the back half.
    Likes:
    1. Open living/kitchen area, swivel cab seats, TV accross from main seating. Plenty of seating. “J” dinette is a thumbs up.
    2. Alot of very usable storage over seating areas, cab and in kitchen. Also hallway cabinet, great potential pantry. Bonus - shoe cubby by entrance is a thoughtful use of space.
    3. The kitchen shape and wall seperating the main floor from bedroom I do like, it’s very usable and better then the tiny “L” shape kitchens we see in so many class C’s. Also, there seems to be a market for folks that prefer a more private bedroom/bathroom.
    4. The bathroom is small, but Matt is right, the larger shower and ample storage makes up for that. Mostly we don’t expect a huge bathroom in a class c. Coachman maybe should have re-thought the bathroom door? I know alot of ppl dont like accordian doors, but some floorplans would function better with them.
    Dislikes:
    1. The outdoor storage - wow. We have ONE storage compartment in our 22 ft trailer that can hold more then all the storage compartments in this class c.
    2. The whole bedroom, I get it with some folks wanting a king bed but it’s so out of scale with the limited access to the bedroom wardrobes. And tbh, I would rather pull in to an rv camp and pay for laundry then try to squeeze around doing laundry in this cabinet at foot of the bed.
    3. ! That stairwell, step up, hallway combo is a broken ankle waiting to happen! Especially if the hall closet is used for pantry or appliance storage, which it kinda has to. Maybe provide a cover for the stairwell? Easy fix, pass the $20 fix onto the customer - cheaper then a lawsuit ;-). Remeber alot of class c’s are popular with empty nesters and retirees.
Overall, thank you Coachman for thinking outside the box, I think with some tweeks, this could be a great selling entry level motorhome.

I absolutely LOVE this floor plan. I think this is now my favorite class c I’ve seen based on the layout. Like the J lounge & the fact the driver & passenger seats swivel. LOVE the kitchen serving as a separator to the bedroom. King bed is huge selling point. The fact it’s a tight squeeze getting into bathroom when slides are closed isn’t a huge deal. I don’t LOVE that it’s a foldable mattress, but to get the king size, I’ll take it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the W/D Congo prep!!!!! That honestly makes it the BEST. EVER. Also love the 450 chassis. Now if only these class c rvs would come with solar pre-installed. But I guess ya can’t have everything ;-)

I like this new floor plan. I love the way the living room can have several friends/family members and entertainment. I like that food can be prepared while that person can still watch the entertainment and be involved in the conversation. I like that the bedroom is in a more private area of the RV. I DISLIKE the small narrow bathroom door. When 'ya gotta go' you should not need to fight the door. Overall though I love this plan and will take a look at it for our next RV! Good job Matt, Andrea, and Coachman!

Great review and I love how you both are so good with each other!!! Regarding the Freelander - The floor plan is amazing. Like the open kitchen and separation of the bedroom. I would prefer an accordion door on the bathroom. I am 6'4" and the king size bed looks great!

Seems like another benefit of this floor plan is the privacy provided to the rear master bedroom. So it provides spacious openness of kitchen/dining area AND privacy to the bedroom. best of both.

I've been a big fan of the Freelander for awhile and actually prefer it over other supposedly more up-market Class C's.
    * Unique floor plan -- me like it.
    * BIG shower = a huge, huge plus. I hope this trend continues in ALL new Class C's and
    even travel trailers.
    * Now THAT'S what I call an awning that takes full advantage of the ENTIRE LENGTH of the coach, Great job, Coachmen!
    * J-Lounge dinette is fantastic (I always much prefer a wraparound or J-shaped dinette)
    * FINALLY a Class C with lighter-colored cabinetry!
A very, very comfortable and livable coach. Coachmen scored a home run with this unit.

Thanks Matt & Andrea for the review of the Coachman Freelander! I always look forward to seeing what’s going to be reviewed. This RV has a great floor plan.
Likes - 1. The bedroom! King bed, lots of storage, and the option for a combo W&D in a class C! What!!!??? 2- The living area layout. Great use of space! I like the J-dinette and the couch and still have plenty of room. 3- The E-450 chassis. Plenty of power and towing capacity.
Dislikes- 1. I do not like windows at the head of the bed! As Matt says “I know why they did it”, but I would rather have a headboard of some sort. 2- The outside storage is laid out in a weird way. 3- I don’t like the thermoform countertops. I know it’s entry level, but those are cheap.

Love your video's! I was already a remote employee (Live and work from home in Chicago), but since the State ordered "Stay Home", to break-up the monotony of the day, stated watching your video's over the weekend. BEST walk through (inside and out) I've seen. I giggle every time ya'll talk about you going up the ladder. My wife is just like yours, in that she'll say "Be careful, I'm holding my breath". Real reviews, not just a sales pitch. I wish we live in Fla, we'd come see ya'll and purchase. We just put money down on our first new TT, went with a Flagstaff E-Pro. We wanted something rugged, yet full of the "nice to haves", and a 10+ yr. TT. We sold our old TT (Forest River Wildwood, 29BHS), and the beast of an F250 that pulled it, when we moved to Chicago Summer 2018. Recenly got the RV-itch again. With the Toyota Highlander, can only town 5000 lbs. The E-Pro (20 BH) comes in under 3500 lbs. I really want a Class C, and THIS one would be awesome, but the Boss said TT only. My wife wanted to know what type of RV do ya'll have? Keep up the great work!

At first I was not so sure about the floor plan. But I do like it. It makes the bedroom more private space. I don't like where the bathroom is placed. For me I would be fine as it is just me. But you lose that bedroom privacy with having to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom.
I would like to have more storage outside. Also I think a queen size bed would allow you easier access to the bathroom. But for the most part I like it.

I liked the rv. It was kinda “plain Jane” on the inside but that allows you to add your own touches and make it home! The little step up isn’t so bad. At least there is a black strip on the edge so you can see the difference. I went in a class C at an RV show and it had a step up. I made it up but when I turned around to go back, the floor coloring ran together and looked like one level. I walked right off the edge. Luckily it wasn’t very high and I did not fall. The edge stripping was in the same tone as the floor so it blended together. I like the roof and the option for more solar. If you want to boondock to save a little money it helps.

This would definitely be a contender for us. I love the layout. Not a fan of the bathroom door. I understand the concept of the door but I would likely swap it out even for one of those doors that is used for privacy to a bedroom (like the older folding doors). I get why a pocket door would not fit with the washer/dryer combo ability. I love the king bed, even if it is a fold up. The living space is beautiful. The tv placement is perfect. I would likely swap out the jack knife bed for a recliner type sofa. Love the J-lounge dinette. Also love that the seats swivel for more seating. Question - saw the rear view mirror, is this a screen for backup cameras? I agree storage is odd but for the inside space I could make it work. I will have to look again but the AC is not ducted on this one is it? I also love the windows!!! Great review ❤️❤️

I like this floor plan, the individual areas, no one has to see your unmade bed, Very private bedroom, spacious, like the 3 cushion couch, Refrigerator small,
no door shelves....need sink covers the insert ones....that large window going into bedroom could make into shelves even tho they would be shallow, but handy for small items, can goods maybe!!!
    Bathroom storage good!!!

I love the floor plan! I do agree about the bathroom door; an accordian door is preferable over that one. The only other misgiving I have is the placement of the microwave. If I am pulled up in a truck stop or somewhere I can not extend my slide outs, I would still want access to my microwave to heat up my leftover at the very least.

    Like:
    1) The dinette - so roomy and pretty!
    2) The kitchen could use a little more counter space, but I love the way it's arranged and the cabinets are gorgeous - not too dark! The interior is beautiful throughout.
    3) Ample storage space - well done, Coachmen!
    Dislike:
    1) That bathroom door. It was probably designed that way to help access the bathroom with the slide in, but it's awkward. A pocket door would have been easier to work with.
    2) Can't get around the bedroom with the slide in. Not a deal breaker, but inconvenient if you need something out of one of the cabinets on the other side of the bed.
    3) TP roll digging into the left hip while using the toilet.

I like the floor-plan. It breaks up that "long box" feeling of RV's and is just more visually interesting. I like the spacious over-cab bunk (which i would use as storage), and I like the one-piece roof (but it needs more room for solar...).
Dislikes: it isn't prepped for solar (c'mon guys, solar is the future and it's so much easier to wire it in while you build it than it is to add it later...). I don't like that king sized bed, it just eats up too much space, (considering how many single people are full-timing these days I'm amazed no one has come out with a "single's model" that puts more emphasis on work spaces like an office area or art studio, and less emphasis on "how many people can we cram into this little box." ...As a single person who's a writer and artist, I would buy a single's model that's already set up for my needs...), and...I don't like that bathroom door. I would remove it first thing and install a curtain instead. Also, I agree with Matt; that's a terrible place for a toilet paper holder (they can be put higher on the wall, y'know...)

Coachman knocked it out of the park on the floor plan.
It gives you a good separation of space, while the front space gives you a very good area for social gathering.
Matt I could choke you on your negatives on the bathroom door.
That pivot bathroom door gives you access to a king size walkaround bed. That positive drastically outweighs the negative.
    .... So there!! Lol, 😋

  • @bstreetjr

Okay. My first comment is neither a like nor dislike, but a safety issue concern. It has to do with the step well right by the kitchen. With how narrow that space is and the step down to get out so close to the end of the counter, I'd very, VERY much like to see a cover to put down over it. With some strong magnets to help keep it in place or even move those controls and have it on a hinge.
    Likes!
    1. TV across from the sofa.
    2. Kitchen/living room layout. I like it.
    3. The combo washer/dryer prep.
    Dislikes.
    1. Hard to access rear storage.
    2. Door to the bathroom. Not sure how to make it better, but the current iteration I'm not a fan of.
    3. Would like to see the door for the exterior tv open upwards with a strut to hold it up.

some of your dislikes made this floor plan possible. in my book that negates the dislike. this is a fantastic use of space. i prefer the separation of living space and bedroom. they did a great job on this one. i'm hoping to get an rv to live in full time in the near future, before another attack leaves me confined to a hospital bed, and this is the first class c to make my list of options.
the one big problem I saw was a need for a STEP WELL COVER in case somebody stumbles coming from the bedroom.

    2. Travel layout in living area
    3. King Bedroom & W/D
    Cons:
    1. Storage sucks
    2. Bathroom door should have been a bi-fold
    3. Outdoor TV door should open upward and latch, or double as an outdoor table if opening downward

  • @marlastevens9036
    @marlastevens9036 4 года назад

That's a fantastic unit, not even considering it's entry level. I'd add as much solar as I could fit on the roof with HD capable dish and WiFi hot spot plus a 3600 inverter (It would be nice if it were prepped for those.) The real Maxx-Air fan is super! I don't have a problem with the big outside door with the small storage behind it -- it helps to have extra access to the stuff behind the door next to it. Do the slide outs have toppers? If not, they'd have to get them.
LOVE the side cameras -- I can't tell you how many times we've crunched sides that stick out further than the cab sides and seeing all the way down in traffic without losing sight of the road ahead is sooooooooooo much safer! I like that the ladder has some extra height up top for safer going down and that it's mounted far enough from the coach to get feet placed firmly on the treads -- and that it's where you can step on the bumper for a boost both ways. Thoughtful and appreciated. Nice treads outside the driver and passenger doors. The bigger engine is a big selling point for us, too.
And I'd switch out the water heater for a 1-2 gallon reserve demand one -- especially when the utterly too cool WD combo was installed.
I'd want more fridge/freezer space but that's doable with add-ons later.
I don't mind the bathroom door but a pocket door would be better -- at least you can get in the bathroom with the slide in this way and you can leave it open for more room to use the potty. The bath is small, true, but it's well thought out in terms of function and has great storage for its size and it's dry with a big enough shower with a real door and that's way better than entry level in our book!
Love that it still has the nice pantry and linen storage even with the WD combo. I Love that there's an oven and a pot drawer and that the angle in the kitchen is straightened out enough to make for real counter space between the sink and stove. But where are the cutting boards for the sink top? The space to walk around the pull-up counter extension is fine for us, BTW.
Love the wardrobe and its mirrored doors and the drawers underneath.
Love the J-Dinette with extension -- lots of ways that could be used with lots of comfort. With that, we'd prefer recliner theater seating for two or a convertible recliner theater seats/sofa option -- but the J-bed sofa isn't bad at all.
Do not like the low weight limit on the overcab bunk but do like how the insert folds out -- that's cool. Wish the LR TV was bigger and that there was one in the BR -- but we love the cabinets on either side of the LR one. (We'd add one in the BR.) Why is there that useless cabinet door in front of the kitchen drawers ISO drawer fronts with proper locking catches??? I'd put magnets on the outside doors. I'd also put heaters on the tanks for 4-season use and possibly beef up the insulation underneath, too -- but I don't expect it to come that way.

    Con:
    1. Doors in the Bathroom (toilet paper can be moved)
    2. Storage outside, but the door next to the one that fooled you kinda made up for it
    3. Most likely has the standard E450 truck sway bars.

The bathrm door sucks but kinda has to be that way. One thing we always seem to be disappointed with is the TV placement. It needs to have a way to come down to eye level instead of break neck level. Couch needs arm rests. The rest...this is the nicest Class C we've seen yet! We love that there's room for the washer/dryer combo! That's a must for us! This is actually something we could live with, and we have been thinking we would have to go with a Class A because of the shower and washer/dryer. Great review! Thanks! Tim and Tammie

I like this layout. I like the colors. Just a few little things/suggestions if any of these can be done. The blinds, maybe shades instead I just think the blinds look cheap and might tear easily. Would like to see a little bigger fridge/freezer. A back splash behind the stove, just looks to plain and maybe a little more plug ins on top of counter space (coffee makers) ?? I saw this floor plan at the Raleigh RV show. I loved the overall plan. The kitchen was great. I loved the L shape of the kitchen. I loved all of the interior storage. I also loved that it was prepped for a combo washer/dryer. The sofa was very comfortable. The size of the tv was awesome, too. The bathroom was a great layout and the shower was rather roomy. HOWEVER…..
I hated the bathroom door. Would’ve been better with a pocket door. Trying the maneuver around the door a certain way just to get in and out of the bathroom, even as a single person in there, was annoying. I disliked the lack of storage on the outside. I also disliked that there’s no prep for solar. I dislike that the door on the tv swings down instead of up.
This is still my most favorite floor plan out of all the Class Cs I saw. I’ll be buying this one when the time comes. The value for the price is phenomenal.

Love your reviews Matt and Andrea! We are interested in the Vision 27a, but are not buying for two years. Please have them fix the following by then - use all your influence:
    1) Awning is way too short and looks like it would easily hit the door.
    2) Needs a computer table for the passenger
    3) The dinette should have drawers that pull out, so you don't have to remove the cushions.
