Are they left unfinished or do they get some sort of oil, varnish, etc? Also, are you willing to reveal what they retail for and what you charge for them? I'm trying to get an idea on what shop rate/hr to factor into my own projects.
@@kreggmiller9643 for myself I retail between $5 and $8 depending on the style. You can check another video I have posted showing other ones. This particular batch is 200 units at cost for a friend. He makes leather hair pieces that the stick fits into. So works out to $2.50 per unit. I average 5 mins per before finish. So the average shop per hour ratio is $30/h so surprisingly a decent money maker and that's on cost ones. It's $60/h on retail for myself ones. Finish is my board butter I use on my cutting boards. Any food contact safe oil would be fine as well. I would personally stay away from oil based varnish or poly. Water based would be fine
