If you do at some point try the mesh paper, like 3m Xtract Cubitron (highly recommended) be sure to add a pad saver, otherwise you run the risk of destroying the existing sander pad.
Thank you for the advice. I would prefer to use the regular cubitron 2 paper instead of the xtract but it's over double the cost. I'm sure both are 100% worth it. I'm just worried about the durability of the Xtract. I do alot of rougher sanding
@@bushrob411 I was concerned about using it with really rough stock as well. I haven’t really used it enough yet to know how it will hold up to that situation.
@@toolmanlh for sure
SOOOOOOooooooooo........ Wacha gonna do with all the saw dust? It obviously make a beautiful compost and probably a nice mulch. Why not sell it?
I never produce enough to justify keeping it for anything. That's over 2 years worth. And I did try selling/giving away years ago but no one was interested. It's fairly fine about as corse as pepper. Most people want very chunky stuff.
I keep wanting to swat all the bugs in front of the camera. LOL
When I was editing I couldn't believe howmany were flying around! Other than thr wasp in my face at the beginning they surprisingly left me alone

Not sure what you mean
I got a kick out of all the little pieces migrating around the table. The sound of the saw is a little jarring. No offence, it reminds me of being at the dentist. LOL. I'm working on a free little library for the bottom on my lawn. I was thinking I'd like to have "T" moulding to finish the edges where the plexiglas window is. Would this be hard to do with the ban saw with a bark live edge? It would need to be 1/4 inch deep.
Yeah I would not use mdf really.
I think im going to eventually make a new pulley out of Baltic birch which I know will work. Using mdf was an experiment
Muy buena idea
Thank you!
I just received the same router, but under a different company name. It's good to know it's holding up. I tend to stay away from random name generator amazon sellers, but I took a chance on this one too.
Yeah I'm.quite happy with it so far and how it's holding out. Definitely was worth trying for me
Hiws it been holding up? Im thinking of buying plans.
So far the wear has been non-existent. Izzy mentions in his video on it if any wear of the slides does happen, it's just a matter of removing the screws, pushing the slide together and drilling new screws in to tighten. Also you could use thin CA glue along the cut edge to harden the fibers and they would increase long-term wear
@@bushrob411 do you think it needs Baltic birch? And any idea roughly how much plywood is required? Like if 2. 2'x4' handy panels would be enough
@@Your_Friend_Corey izzys plans do show how much plywood you need and it's a bit more than 1 handy pannel. I think 33 x 48 In saying that. I used some scrap Baltic birch plywood I had from another design and 1 new handy pannel and I ended up with a big chunk left over. If you make the movement levers and links from another plywood scraps, 1 handy panel should be plenty. Also I used second grade Baltic birch from Kent. It has less layers than premium Baltic birch and works good for the savings.
@@bushrob411 thanks for the quick replies. Guess I'll buy the plans and hopefully get around to making it.
@@Your_Friend_Corey no problem at all
Could I in theory make this by flipping a bandsaw sideways and putting it on a rail
@yambammer7277 absolutely! Matthias wandel has a great video on turning one of his homemade bandsaw into a sawmill
How many HP is the motor
9.5 hp kholer. Works great as long as the blades are sharp lol. I've milled through 20 wide elm and had enough power. But a 15hp single or 16 v-twin would be a great upgrade
I like the quick system you have lifting and lowering the saw head, Brilliant
For a factory set up it works great. There's just enough tension on the door winder style spring that 80% of the weight is balanced. It won't hold position without the lock, but your not lifting the entire weight either.
@@bushrob411 Thank you very much for your information, Is a very clever system, I appreciate your effort to respond
8x32 rims on her. 39-40?
Not sure what year she is. We bought it and the found out she's made from a few parts tractors. Definitely a beast for how old she is.
@@bushrob411 is the transmission dip stick near the shifter or on the right side of the rear housing? You’ll find that replacement tires will be expensive, a lot of guys switch to the 10-28 rims and tires. If you do this don’t scrap those rims and center discs, they’re desirable to collectors/restorers.
My dad used to skid them out but without anything holding the back....👍
Most of the time we do as well. But it's much easier on th old tractor with that kinda weight, no tearing the trail up or getting the log dirty. Cheers!
Wah luar biasa
