    I think that second question was about the violence against whites that has been increasing in SA

    Hey buddy, I just got back home after ten awesome days in Cape Town. Too bad we didn't get to hang out. It was great that it rained more than a couple of times while I was there! Ultra was a sick party as well!

      Hey man! So glad you had such a great time over there! Judging from your instagram pics it looks quite like a jol! Yea unfortunately I’m about 20 hours drive from Cape Town, would have been fun to do Ultra again tho! Hope you have a great week!

      Travel Ventures twenty hours doesnt sound so bad bro. 😂 yeah bud, Cape Town is surely a top 3 destination for me. I suppose youre waaaay out the western cape i suppose. It was cool walking around Cape Town and seeing a 🇵🇭establishment. Met the owners and they were quite nice. Spent 19 hrs in the air to get to your country bro! Haha intense. Lemme know when you get lost on my side of the world.

      Travel Ventures also, ULTRA WAS WICKED GOOD. Cape Town has a lot of older party people, who knew?! 😂 the seniors kept asking to borrow my spectral shades haha. The lack of security was jarring though - no securiy theater, metal detectors or checks of any sort 😂😂😂 made for a fast process of getting into the event though

    Really love your videos and while we had planned to travel to Southern Africa, especially Cape Town this summer (Southern Winter), then put it on hold after what was happening in Cape Town, I booked flights last week and we'll be spending almost a month in Southern Africa,.
    A big reason for deciding to come were your videos.
    We are not doing the usual safari to Krueger or other parks but will be spending a couple of days in Johannesburg, Namibia and 2 weeks in Cape Town doing day trips from there and just enjoying the city and its surroundings rather than rushing through in 3 or 4 days.
    Really looking forward to your travel videos and if you have some information, what visitors can do on their own; driving the Garden Route, visiting Cape Town staying for example in an AirBnB or other holiday rental and do their own day trips, that would be great since there is so much misinformation about South Africa in general which I believe are still from about 15 - 20 years ago when there was a lot of talk about car jacking etc.
    Keep up the great work and sharing your South Africa with us.

      Ales Struna this is an incredible comment, and it really means a lot sharing this, thank you for giving Cape Town a chance to prove all these outlets wrong! And also thank you for your kind words and honesty! It meant a great deal to me.
      In regards with things to do in Cape Town! I’d definitely recommend a few unique places.. all along the South Coast from Kalkbay, Fish Hoek, Simons Town, to Cape point.. then driving up north to Kommetjie, Chapman’s Peak to Hout Bay. These are all incredible places to visit
      I’ll explain:
      Kalk Bay is an incredible little local area with local shops and restaurants which is great to visit as a morning activity and a nice lunch.
      Heading to Fish Hook is a great chill beach with calming waves and a nice beach restaurant on the left side; and a dog’s paradise on the right
      Heading to Simons Town is where you’ll find the Navy base, great restaurants, Boulders beach with all the penguins and in the evenings twice a week there is Ghost tour which gives mostly the history of the town ( a definite recommendation if you are into history)
      Cape Point is a beautiful place (a bit pricy) but has gorgeous views and also a definite place I’d recommend to go to at least once. Once you reach the most south point by car, you can then travel by tram up to the most south west point point of South Africa to cape point’s lighthouse. Incredibly windy but incredibly beautiful.
      Driving then up north from cape point you’ll reach kommetjie with that light house you see in the end of my “Let’s talk about the drought video” only cost around 1-2 dollars for entrance up to the top.. something interesting to do.
      As you head more north you’ll reach Chapman’s peak which is just a gorgeous road (toll) road to drive through the mountains (best for a sunset drive)
      and then finally Hout Bay, with a large variety of things to do including a bird sanctuary to visit.. one of their attractions are the colorful yellow monkeys that climbs on you and are very tamed.
      I hope this helps.

    Thank you! I’m one of your newest subscriber and I found your channel because i was searching for a personal story about the water situation in Cape Town and South Africa. I was in the middel of desiding if I schould use some of my hard worked money on a travel to and around South Africa, but I was worried about the situation and doubted the idea... BUT then I saw your videos and it helped me so much and just watching you talk totally grounded about the situation and showing some of the beauty of Cape Town and made me wanted to invest in a dream-travel to your beautifull country🌞 I’m just a Danish girl who can’t wait to explore one of the most beautifull places in the world! xx
    -PS. Any must see or visit recomendations?

      That means so much to me, thank you for sharing this Mathilde :)
      And recommendations, well that all depends on what you’d like to do!
      Main places I’d recommend is visiting Table Mountain (Either by cable car or hiking), Boulders beach with all the penguins, Chapman’s Peak during sunset time and visiting the Cheetah preservation centre close to the Strand :)
      I really hope you will have an amazing adventure in Cape Town and in South Africa in general! You won’t regret it, you have my word :)

    Perhaps South Africa should revert back to a white leader who can clean up the mess and mistrusts that have been smeared throughout for the last couple of decades. All it would take is a humble citizen with his eyes wide open like......YOU?

    • @TravelVentures
      @TravelVentures  6 лет назад

      Rocco you know, my ideal government, however controversial it may sound, is a diverse unified government. A coalition of different parties with different set of values, standards and cultures. This to me sets a more ideal representation of our country, and in this way, they can deal with all values, standards and cultural differences and issues internally. This in turn would enable government to then pave forward a unity externally that the rest of the citizens can see, follow and strive for. Having a leadership of only one cultural stance will always be problematic since it will ultimately lead to be a bit more pro and biased towards their own interests and societies. With a country with so many different cultures, this just won’t work if they push for only one. We need unity and diversity at the top before there will be unity at the bottom. This is just my personal point of view.
      As for being the leader myself, err, no I don’t believe I’d be the right candidate for that at all. I feel I might be a bit too empathetic in a lot of situations. And the amount of responsibility of millions of people might be a little bit too much in this point of time. I’d find it extremely difficult when it comes to making decisions that might benefit most but will impact a minority in a negative way. I’d need to be waaay more experienced and trained.

      It may or may not be your calling but you definitely have the integrity towards it. How about starting out on a lower scale such as a mayor of a small town then work your way up. Or like I said before work your way into the title of minister of tourism. I realize the situation is different down there is different because the whites in this case are the minorities but are more knowledgeable but not necessarily more trustworthy. Hmm! A thorough background check would be a start.

    Ramaphosa is undoubtedly better and likely will not use the Presidency to enrich himself since he's already very wealthy. However that does not mean he wont do favours for his friends in the ANC and the big corporate interests. Remember he was closely involved with Lonmin at the time of the Marikana massacre and strongly criticised the miners on the eve of that horrific event. He also specifically mentioned "expropriation without compensation" in the SONA speech which is exactly what the pro-Zuma faction in the ANC have been pushing for. This is extremely worrying for white farmers/landowners. I'm not sure how he hopes to attract foreign investment (another stated SONA aim) whilst simultaneously preaching in favour of Communist-style land grabs!

    • @TravelVentures
      @TravelVentures  6 лет назад +1

      You have a real good point of view. I know for one thing Ramaphosa needs to gain the confidence again from all the ANC voter defectors, so all of this is just political noise which I’m all familiar with. My personal view is that he is a business man in heart who plays politics like a chess game. And if his intentions are good, he will make significant progress in this country. But of course, for now we can only wait and see.

    Yes, it will rain again, but what most Capetonians don't seem to understand is that it wasn't only the drought that caused the crisis. It was also hopeless incompetence. Water experts desperately tried to warn authorities that Cape Town could run out of water for more than two decades. I grew up in SA, and never, ever in my entire life did we have to drink bottled water, despite the many droughts. There's a huge problem with water quality, and scientists warn that our technology is so outdated, the rest of the country might have water stress soon. Watch what Anthony Turton has to say in a RUclips video where he claims that the crisis is entirely man made, not natural. Apart from that, with the land expropriation without compensation rhetoric in the air I don't have much hope left for the country. I'm encouraging my daughter to get out of there ASAP. It's time for Europeans to go back to Europe.

    To be honest, you are naive...
    Assuming that cape town actually runs out of water, and people can't drink, violence is a very logical outcome.

    • @TravelVentures
      @TravelVentures  6 лет назад

      Thinking Cape Town will run out of water is where you’re wrong. Day Zero is not the day there is no water. It’s the day municipal taps are switched off. There will always be water available at the POD’s where people could collect a sufficient amount. People are also using boreholes, rain harvesting and other methods to minimize strain on municipal supply.
