Gotta have immense respect for true sportsmanship.
Zach Haywood Shut your bitch ass up! If it is anyone but Jeter that does not happen!
EnErGy GaMiNg Sheesh, man. It was just a comment. And I'm not even a fan of Detroit, but what Joba did was entirely commendable, you could see he was genuinely sorry.
Zach Haywood Joba was like "Holy shit, I almost ended Jeter's career." Haha! But yea, he was definitely sorry.
Minkki82 It shows class and decency.
+ItsBandit That's exactly the problem. Humility, class and decency are so damn rare in baseball today that it sticks out like a sore thumb..
The apology from Mr. Galifianakis was sincere.
I noticed it looked like him too!!
+Muldoon Manface "Hangover 4 confirmed starring the wolf pack + Derek Jeter as an apology"
+Muldoon Manface ok this was hilarious. LMFAO
+Muldoon Manface lolololol
+Geno M you
Atleast he has the decency to apologize for hitting him good guy
OMFG every video has that stupid Bank of America camel ad
+Baseball Legend its a llama
+Baseball Legend I get that commercial all the time. SO ANNOYING.
Only cuz he was an ex teammate.
Except when he throws at Youkilis
I've never seen a pitcher apologize for a HBP. Never. This is the first.
Martin Gardner they used to be teammates, so i'm sure that played a role in his apology.
***** or its just one of those moments of class on a baseball field. but the teammates thing is true
Martin Gardner that guys got true respect
Martin Gardner He put the potential winning run on base with that.
Haha yesterday a pitcher on my high school team accidentally nailed this dude in the back with his cutter, and he apologized for it. We all called him a pussy for it😂
I don't understand why everyone's hating on Joba's look. He looks just like a big teddy bear!... A really sweaty teddy bear!
Jack Carlos he seems like such a nice guy. when he was in toronto last season when he pitched for for he Indians, apparently some of the Jays took him out on vacation with them, that's really nice of them. joba is super nice I get better vibe off him alot
Joba looks like Patrick Ewing at the free throw line in the 4th Quarter
looks like a fucking bath tub toy.
Joba the hut
I want to hug him
joba wanted just to be clear. Joba was at his old home at Yankee Stadium, didnt want people to think he was bitter, and force retaliation so he cleared it up then and there
Whether he was a Yankee or not in the past, it's clearly an accident. He was 1 ball, 2 strikes. Would be pretty retarded to intentionally hit a batter and ruin your work of getting to 2 strikes when he could've just thrown a strike and strikeout one of best batters in mlb. So yeah, it's an accident. Even if he didn't apologize, people would know. But them being former teammates and his reaction to his own pitch, already confirms 200% that it was an accident.
look at him bend over at 0:04.. he didnt even need to apologize for anyone to see that he felt terrible about it
Exactly what I was thinking. Everyone wanted to make Jeter out to be a God. I would've rather had A-rod at short than this guy.
@@jcastillo3492 Ummmm.... why? ARod has individual stats but makes the team around him worse.
@@jcastillo3492 hating because he beat your favorite team numerous times lol
@@jcastillo3492 a-rod 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
@@jcastillo3492 Jeter was the most complete baseball player ever. A rod was just best at hitting home runs.
They were teammates for years. I'm sure he felt bad about it.
He did you can tell.
You NEVER see pitchers apologize for that, that was real respect right there.
Jesus loves you!
Dear RUclips. Really? A thirty second ad to see a thirty one second video?
Get ad blocker?
Joba: Newest member of the Wyatt Family
mofo683 LOL THE NEXT BRAUN STROWMAN XD
As a Red Sox fan, I must say that just goes to show the level of respect Derek Jeter has earned during and after his career. A pure class act indeed.
Joba is a sportsman, scholar, and sweaty teddy bear. Above all, a true gentleman. Sweaty gentleman.
And besides just having no intention of hitting Jeter, I highly doubt Joba would actually try to risk losing a tied ballgame in extra innings just to get at someone.
30 second ad for 45 second vid
adblock homie
or RUclips Red :D
Just Me I personally am using the RUclips app on my phone, so I don't think Adblock would work in that scenario.
During the commercial, I was debating whether this video is worth it. It wasn't.
Love seeing good sportsmanship in MLB, gg Joba.
A rare moment of sportsmanship in the MLB. If it had been any other player they probably would have charged the mound and then we'd have the benches clearing
If it was A-Rod instead of Jeter there would be a brawl
that guy is cool u know he did not mean to
youre a rangers fan=not cool
+Stephanie's Mouth Guard
Go fuck yourself you can't judge someone based on the team they like.
+Stephanie's Mouth Guard Blue Jays fan lol
Nice class from Joba even though it was an accident.
drew rice even though? That’s when you apologize, you don’t apologize when you mean it..
I love the fact that Chamberlain felt sorry for a great player when other pitchers intentionally hit players just to be jerks that's real respect
It was nice to see Joba apologize. That's something you rarely see in MLB.
Why the fuck are they yankee fans booing an ex-yankee that clearly didn't mean to hit jeter?! you don't do that shit
Oh thats right, i forgot all yankee fans are douchebags!!
Bilbo Baggins fuk u u stupid yank
Mr. Monk +Bilbo Baggins i feel like non of yall played past highschool....so yall all need to calm down
Michael Asher what the fuck does that have to do with anything?
Mr. Monk Yankee fans boo for anything. Worst fans in all of MLB.
Did anyone see Joba in ALDS Game 1 and 2 against the Orioles? The Tigers were only losing 4-3, but he made it 12-3 with a super long bottom of the 8th inning.
lol at people not sticking to the subject...that was classy and respectful. my hats goes off to both of them. good video
I'm a Yankee fan but why would they boo Jeter and Jaba wished to be team mates and its late in the game. Absolute no intent
Because fans are stupid let's he honest
We need more good sports like this in the MLB
Just sat through a 30 second commercial to watch a 45 second video.
It's good to see Action Bronson being respectful
Joba went to HS with my dad and after my dad died, Joba was at his visitation
Who was your dad? I went to HS and Junior high with Joba too. Class of 03
It happens, Jeter knows it. Nice sportsmanship from both of them.
they were on the same team for quite a bit
Joba Chamberlain has enough respect for Derek Jeter not to do something like that!
You could tell that was a legit reaction by Chamberlain. Not intentional.
Why is there always that guy in the stands that throws up his arms in the "let's fight" motion? Bunch of fake tough guys. I see this constantly with the baseball bros. Same guy that in an important moment of the game, stands up, turns around, and starts waving his arms like "stand up everybody". Every time I see this guy, I think, "Wow, what a jerkoff".
Walter Sobchak
Just take it easy, man...
Mucho respecto
I would've said sorry too Derek is a legend
That's something I haven't seen in a while, sportsmanship
Chamberlain, class act. Owns it. A true professional.
Nice class apology
RESPECT
0:05 This is when you can tell Joba genuinely feels bad.
I think that the first time ive ever seen a pitcher apologize to anybody before, that was definitely not intentional !
No Yankee fans standing up with your arms out, he is not going to put the winning run on with a 1-2 count.
Grizzly Adams was always a kind hearted man.
wow some good sportsmanship
It was nice how he apologized.
Joba doesn't look like he would intentionally ever hurt anything
I remember Yankee fans thinking Joba chamberlain was going to be the next Roger clemens lol what a joke he was
Y'all talking about ads? Get Ad-block plus. Have not had ads on YT in YEARS.
A baseball player with class? Now I've seen everything....
I always felt horrible when I hit a guy while pitching. I remember one time I yelled "my bad!" while the ball was still in the air
I refuse to watch this video due to a 30 second advert
How come no one is talking about how he caught the throw from the ump/catcher with his bare hand. Pretty badass
gotta love the sportsmanship, respect to Chamberlain
Me: let’s watch a 44 second video
Them: how about a 15 second add with it
Wish we still had Chamberlain
The jeter years were some great baseball to watch!!!! Miss ya Mr. November
You know your good when the pitcher apologizes to you
He's protecting himself. It's like the hockey players who checked Wayne Gretzky into the boards, only to get beaten to a pulp the next period. Jaba was protecting his own ass.
+Johann Wilder yeah because you know how rough baseball can get...
Video duration equals 44 seconds and Chamberlains number is 44
Illuminate confirmed
30 second ad for 45 second video...nice.
As sweaty as the guy was, there's no wonder the ball slipped 😂
Joba recruited by ISIS to slowly take down American by eliminating its best baseball players one by one.
Joba showed respect to Jeter. a pitcher who hits a batter intentionally would never apologize at all. I respect Joba's n he showed true sportsmanship by doing just that.
Joba sure turned out to be a corn fed Nebraska disappointment.
step 1: hit mute, step 2: peruse comments until mandatory ad over
In the 2000s up to 2010, he's probably in the top 3 shortstops. 2011 to 2014 probably in the top 10
Yankees Fans cry to just about anything they can.
+Jokerfighter46 Amen
And say A rod wasn't juiced
infernalone666 Nothing usually. It happens. It's baseball. If you get that emotional about it, then maybe you take the game too seriously.
the only thing I get pissed at are hypocrites. i don't care of you don't like the yankees, except a lot of people hate them for some incredibly petty reasons and actually start laughing and cheering whenever something bad happens to them. to me, that's more indicative of your nature.
as for this so-called crying, well, a fan is going to get pissed - you always see it. if it were the other way around, he'd be crying too. so his comment was nothing more than usual trolling by a met's/red sox fan/just another resentful moron trying to take a jab because the best team in the mlb ain't his. but then, he already cried by making a negative comment here. just as I'm crying now, so to speak, trying to fill up the hole in his head, and just as you're crying to trying by egg me on concerning an issue that shouldn't need arguing.
Jokerfighter46 more world series than you bitch
That's why it's so obvious when they do it on purpose, they just stand there and wait for the next batter
I mean, thats just great sportsmanship by Joba but Derek knows it was not intentional
This is why I love baseball. Everybody is so nice
Usually*
I asked my hubby. Why don't pitchers apologize. He claims that they don't. It's not a common thing to do.
I honestly dont understand why every pitcher doesnt do this, apologize if you hit a batter.
Human kindness and respect...at its best✌❤🙏🙏🙏
How could you Joba. He's a biracial angel
No apologies during the game, Joba. THAT'S why you couldn't cut it in the Bronx.
Joba has some really smooth mechanics
I am watching this in Europe and -- no ads. Obviously I am not the relevant target group for American bank ads.
This video shows great sportsmanship
As a hitter it is FAR worse to be hit unintentionally. With an intentional plunk, you don't have to be afraid of getting hit again. The pitcher can control his spots. Not knowing if the pitcher can control his spots leaves you far more afraid of getting hit again.
"Joba, you're a wonderful human being."
Tie game in the 10th, and they thought he’d his Jeter on purpose? And they call themselves fans? Geez!
You hit Jeter!? He's a biracial angel!
As a Yankee fan I'm disgusted at the booing.
Now that's a pitcher.
I love pitchers who actually care about not hitting the players
The fans were also letting out their frustrations over Joba's disappointing tenure as a Yankee.
Derek Jeter is a saint!
lol good on Chamberlain to apologize though.
Respect the game. Respect the players.
I was scrolling for a comment for a while but i couldn't find it, so I'm just gonna say it myself :)
MY GOD that pitcher has enough sweat to fill the atlantic...
Class act. That's Nebraska alumni for ya
Joba says, "My bad, My fault." Really? Well whose fault was it if it wasn't yours Joba? Brilliant!
30 second ad for a 40 second video lol
He didn’t need to apologize. Him bending over showing he didn’t mean to do it is good enough.
Great sportsmanship, the guy show respect. He didn’t mean to hit him.
I'd like to see more of this.
Why do some people charge the pitcher?? I know sometimes its not intentional, but can u tell when theyre trying to hit u?
Been a "Yankee hater" since I was a child, but this is RESPECT! Jeter is the greatest of his generation, in and out of the game. This is what I love about baseball, the sportsmanship and respect players have.
People may of hates him but you have to give him credit for him saying sorry
If pitchers would apologize right after hitting a batter, the batter wouldn't think the pitcher would be trying to hit them. It doesn't cost anything to say "I'm sorry".
I feel like I NEVER see pitchers do this in the bigs
