Used to watch these guys when they were City Kidd, they were a common staple at the Oasis Ballroom in Sacramento, Ca. Everyone back then knew that they were destined for greatness.
Vocally, this is not bad but awful. Not Motley Crue shitting the bed, bad but it's bad. There are instances where his voice is obviously altered by something. The problem is that it doesn't actually help. Just makes him sound like Soundwave. Tesla is cool. They deserve to still be getting paid. Other bands from this era are out there embarrassing themselves. Good for Tesla, not being a complete joke.
Same age as you unfortunately. My friend thought he seen Tommy and Brian on a Street in my hometown. We were playing guitar on the steps. He was a huge Tesla fan, but I was no way that's Tesla 2 blocks away and you can tell. So we didn't go. They were playing Alpine Valley that night and were next to my Friends house down the street replacing some broken porch windows. Brian Wheats Cousin I was told.
Never hear of them touring. Would love to see them. One of the few bands from '80's that can still perform and actually remember their own lyrics! Not like Motley's Vince Neil who definitely needs to throw in the towel! Love Tesla!
I remember seeing them in 87 open up for Def Leppard 1st album tour....December Jeff wore a Santa Hat the whole show....seen them 12 times since then....kinda still dig them. Wish Tommy and Troy was back. They sound a little worse but still great. Hope that made sense.

Tesla so underrated and a sound all thier own..definitely one of the best from an Era where it was more about a look than the music..Tesla was about the music and wow did they make some classics
The copious use of Peruvian marching powder has taken its toll on our good ol boy the truck driver from OK…that said, he gets the job done….peace and love to them all….miss Tommy and Troy but so be it….better to keep it going than to split hairs…at least Frank is still there and sounding as good as ever!
OK I wanna say it I love Tesla Jeff Keith the whole band since the beginning. They’re too calm without Tommy I know he has his issues and theroad probably have finished him off. but crap man , No hype just boring without him. They’re all very fun and pro guys these days.

Absolutely. I've seen them 7 times. They are AC/DC and Rush level good live. Great band. Cinderella is also a fantastic live band.....very underrated.
