When I asked the stewdess about it she told us that it was a first class chicken. So there we where with plastic cutlery and plastic cups with cheep orange juice and a chicken on porcelain plates while everyone around us ate the usual economy dish, it felt somewhat surreal. 😂 But man that chicken was good!

As someone who has flown both relatively extensively, the easiest way I know how to explain the difference is that Business class is about comfort, while First class is about Luxury
My dad flew for JetBlue growing up so i had only ever flown JetBlue, which is basically a greyhound bus in the sky. When I flew Lufthansa from Germany I got bumped up to business class and I thought for a little bit that I had accidentally gotten first class because it was so much nicer than I was used to
Really would be nice to have a step between economy and business. Like, just a seat, but spaced so the person beside you isnt sharing and armrest with you, and with enough leg room that the kid behind you cant kick you and the person in front of you doesnt crush you legs when they lean back.
In America, 1st class means you actually can recline your seat. And the person in front of you won't have their head in your lap expecting a scalp massage.
I flew Emirates economy from Dublin to Auckland via Dubai....enjoyed the service but not the seating, came back business class...what a difference...wonderful!!! Wish I could have afforded it both ways.
My mom worked for WestJet for a bit. She said business class is like first, but kids aren't allowed in business. One of my life goals is to take her and my sister somewhere and fly business.✨ (Apologies to future fellow business passengers. We'll probably be the excited toddlers you hear.😅)
I mean the name says it all: business class gives you enough comfort to be able to work on your flight/feel a bit rested for upcoming meetings, while first class is a luxury experience
This is coming from someone who flies frequently, it doesn’t matter what class you pick, meal time is the only good time on a plane… outside of deboarding.
I also enjoy take off and landing (watching the view outside the window, feeling the excitement of the trip). And I like catching a movie or two as during my normal schedule when going abroad, I'm usually too busy to watch anything. And even cooler when the movie takes place in the location I'm going to.
Flying Delta economy is actually pretty good. Take comfortable seats, personal TVs, WiFi included, and a snack and drink. Flying anything else hasn't been too great.
@@redshift912 this is false! i have had flights from US to Spain which can take 7 to up to 12 hours depending on where you're coming from, consistently throughout my life (i have family there) and while the flights on those do usually container **SOMEWHAT** nicer food, it is nowhere near the luxury of the meals presented here
As a world traveler, I could give fuck all about how I get there as long as I get there safely and on schedule. I’m cool with my seat and a few movies and beers.
Just wait until you get older... I thought the same as you, now I'm in my 40s and traveling is pure torture. Since I don't have the money for business let alone first class I've given up flying now. Last flight was oct/nov 2022 with Delta, now I'm cured forever :(
Thank you for this summary, it is nice to hear a comprehensive pretty objective comparison. Also, I am glad to see my airline represented in this video, I hope you had a wonderful time on board. Many safe landings
The only time I've had a "first class" experience was on a train. I was going home from my parent's and when I was booking the tickets, only first class were available on the website. There were standard tickets, but you had to buy them on the app and were only a couple of quid cheaper. First class was pretty similar to standard (hence the quotation marks at the beginning) except there was maybe a little bit more room (not that I could tell because it was filled by my bags) and you could get complimentary food and drink. I didn't end up getting anything because I was too shy to ask for anything, but I should have done it because I could have had it as an early lunch instead of having something at home, and it would have offset the extra cost of the ticket.
@@IrritatedBear the reason I didn't was because I'd already said 'home'. In my experience, the second 'home' is usually implied and doesn't need to be written, but it's something to keep in mind in the future.

Flying first class with my parents they found out it was my Mums birthday so they baked her a cake and we all sang happy birthday to her. Michael Parkinson was in the pod next to her.
I've only ever been on planes a few times, but I remember being so excited at the extra few inches of space in front of me when I landed a seat in one of the first six rows after first class. Those were the best four hours of any fight experience I've ever had.
Yes, US first class consists of a couple of complimentary drinks and a huge price tag. Totally not worth it. The very last time I flew first class, almost every other first class passenger on the flight was an off-duty airline employee. Apparently, I didn't get the memo.
Some people are rich and fly these classes. I can't my whole life. I have rewards points but prefer to spread them out for several coach flights than one luxurious one.
You are normal and making the smarter financial decision. “A smart person knows what they like. They spend lavishly on that one thing and cut out everything else.” Save here and there so you can splurge here and there when it’s something truly meaningful.
So basically, in economy you are treated like cattle, in business you are treated like a normal human being, and in first class you are treated like a king.
The economy class simply is just a cheap ticket for a seat that's it nothing else. You would be ridiculous to think that you can pay cheap and get the same benefits as the higher classes.
A month ago, I got upgraded from business class to first for free in Etihad airlines. It was my first experience flying in first class, it was so luxurious, they booked me a shower before we land, they had a bar. My cabin had a sofa! Along with the seat ofc. The food was fancy, I almost ordered everything. Free Wi-Fi, I felt like a king for 7 hours. 😂 Best experience ever. I didnt event pay a penny for my business class, it was all paid by the company I work for, and fortunately it was upgraded to first 😂🎉
Didn't we all used to think our only options were either first class or economy? I thought business was la créme de la créme and only for important business people.
Being relatively comfortable in Economy is one of the few times I'm glad I'm short though i am curious of experiencing business class someday... maybe when i'm only paying for my tickets instead of my entire family lol
you should pay at least once for the experience. ^^ but yes, just for yourself xD. one thing I like the most from Business class is that you don't share toilets with 200 people.
The problem is that you don’t want to sleep on Business class or first class flights. It’s almost as if it’s a part of the vacation (if you are using it for vacation) or the highlight of your business trip. I have flown a few times in businesses and even 16 hour flights you end up wishing it was longer. Compared to economy class I was wishing the flight was over and it was only 14 hours.
Unfortunately, lots of airlines are taking down first class since rarely anyone is buying first class tickets. Well, maybe more people would buy first class tickets if they never cost more than $10,000 per person(depending on flight length and airline).
I've been flying since I was 5, going from one side of the world to the literal opposite side, and I'll say this: curiosity and gratitude are where it's at. Even just a little bit will make your transportation, airport, and flying experiences into adventures you wouldn't trade for anything.
Quick question about the lounge. Do most of the airlines have a separate lounge for first class or they just have a big lounge for both business and first class in one place
It is complicated. In there home airport most airlines have separate first lounges. So the can avoid that the first passenger get in touch with plebs from business or even 'huch' economy. In Zürich for example you don't cross path after you enter the lounge till you leave the plane.
I believe that generally, if airlines have their own lounges on an non-hub airport, they have at least a small space for first class passengers. Keep in mind that you might still have to get food and drinks from the business class area.
Depends if you're able to experience the services during international. During the 17 hours flight to the Philippines, I was too dizzy to do anything. Even eat!
Thank you for sharing. I like both cabin sections if the aircraft to fly. I like Business Class first. First Class is there when I am to upgrade or use the points.
I once traveled first class from London to Sydney. The 'bed' was disappointing because, being a seat that folded down, it was hard. The 'down-filled' mattress was no more than a duvet.
Statistically extremely unlikely but I make enough to take an international vacation twice a year (flying economy) and I think that is both realistically attainable and gratifying. I don't desire excessive wealth, the fact that I can travel at all is a blessing, I don't need to fly luxuriously.
Illegal immigrant here. I usually take the retractable wheel class. Well, not usually, but once. Super noisy, air pressure is insane and you'd get cramps from ludicrous body positions because it's quite tight in here, but gets you from A to B regardless so
One day, when I was quite young we suddenly got upgraded to business and thinking about it back, it’s amazing cause we didn’t pay a single cent on those tickets anyways. Since it’s my mom’s annual gov paid flight tickets. So that’s the only time I’ve got to experience business without a dime spent lol
Good to know. Thank you for your insight on the matter. I just got back from a two week vacation. One week in South Korea and one week in Japan. So this is all new to me lol
Would be kinda cool if an actual business books a flight for an employee, the business can choose an even more expensive "business" class that is a fully sealed off room, incase the business still needs the employee taking meetings mid flight
Well that’s exactly what a lot of businesses do. Maybe not all but many of them do pay extra for business class because it is better for employee productivity

One time I was on an Lufthansa flight from Tokyo back to Frankfurt am Main Germany in economy, so when it was lunchtime I expected the usual aluminium dish. But as everyone around our got their food my seat and my two seat neighbours didn't, turns out we ordered the same dish and due to some kind of mistake they didn't brought enough of it with them, to make up for it they offered us "a very nice chicken" and it was very nice indeed, it was one of the best chickens I've ever had. When I asked the stewdess about it she told us that it was a first class chicken. So there we where with plastic cutlery and plastic cups with cheep orange juice and a chicken on porcelain plates while everyone around us ate the usual economy dish, it felt somewhat surreal. 😂
But man that chicken was good!

Yea, barring medical issues, you can sleep in an economy seat just fine if you are tired

My options are always just between AISLE or WINDOW. the middle seat is a major no. 😌

Meanwhile my father's company used to book their employees on business class only if the flight is at least 10h long

most people flying business or first don't pay the ticketed price, rather upgrade with frequent flyer programs or buy them outright with FF points (+taxes). As someone who has flown both relatively extensively, the easiest way I know how to explain the difference is that Business class is about comfort, while First class is about Luxury
That’s a good way to summarize it
I've never been on a plane in my life
on my last flight with Delta I've seen their "first class", what a joke 😅
It's about what you get when you buy business class with other airlines.
You are describing premium economy.
premium economy!! singapore air’s is real good trust 🥶
“Bed you can actually sleep on” man i have slept upright with my head on the window shutter my whole life
In America, 1st class means you actually can recline your seat. And the person in front of you won't have their head in your lap expecting a scalp massage.

Premium Economy is my First Class 🎉🎉🎉😊
Why? Premium Economy is a scam and not worth extra a single dollar. The only reason to book it is to get the upgrade to business for cheap.
My mom worked for WestJet for a bit. She said business class is like first, but kids aren't allowed in business.
One of my life goals is to take her and my sister somewhere and fly business.✨

This is coming from someone who flies frequently, it doesn’t matter what class you pick, meal time is the only good time on a plane… outside of deboarding.
idk i enjoy the takeoff and landing quite a bit. i also enjoy looking out the window for an hour at a time. different strokes for different folks.

I got upgraded to business class once and it was AWESOME, especially compared to economy. I miss that flight 🥲
Kindly suggestion: It's "parents," not "parent's". This is not a criticism in any way.

As a frequent cargo class traveler, my motto is “pain is temporary.”

I agree with you. There is a big difference between economy and business, first class a luxury but not worth double the fare.
I always fly Lufthansa cuz they give you endless beer 🤣🤣
Being relatively comfortable in Economy is one of the few times I'm glad I'm short
though i am curious of experiencing business class someday... maybe when i'm only paying for my tickets instead of my entire family lol
you should pay at least once for the experience. ^^ but yes, just for yourself xD. one thing I like the most from Business class is that you don't share toilets with 200 people.

Hell yeah, you were watching Bob’s Burgers. I love that show😍

This video cleared up my confusion between first and business class on airlines SOO much better than Google can. ✌️
I usually go economy and save money for the destination
Quick question about the lounge. Do most of the airlines have a separate lounge for first class or they just have a big lounge for both business and first class in one place
It is complicated.
In there home airport most airlines have separate first lounges. So the can avoid that the first passenger get in touch with plebs from business or even 'huch' economy.
In Zürich for example you don't cross path after you enter the lounge till you leave the plane.
I believe that generally, if airlines have their own lounges on an non-hub airport, they have at least a small space for first class passengers. Keep in mind that you might still have to get food and drinks from the business class area.
Love how I'm taking notes on something I'll never experience
Me, as someone who hasn't experienced riding on airplane. This does not concern me, but I still watch it because it's entertaining.

So
Flights less than 4 hours - economy
Flights 4+ hours- business
Overnight or international flights - first class
Gotcha
For most people higher prices not really worth it at least more than once maybe twice
If you're rich then sure
Anything less than 8 hours is economy.
More than that is business.
First class is rare for fun.
Depends if you're able to experience the services during international.
During the 17 hours flight to the Philippines, I was too dizzy to do anything. Even eat!
Nah that shit isn't worth the cost.
Thank you for sharing. I like both cabin sections if the aircraft to fly. I like Business Class first. First Class is there when I am to upgrade or use the points.
Id love some friends like this, happy birthday!
I once traveled first class from London to Sydney. The 'bed' was disappointing because, being a seat that folded down, it was hard. The 'down-filled' mattress was no more than a duvet.
One day i will earn enough to experience these things.
Statistically extremely unlikely but I make enough to take an international vacation twice a year (flying economy) and I think that is both realistically attainable and gratifying. I don't desire excessive wealth, the fact that I can travel at all is a blessing, I don't need to fly luxuriously.
