- This was at the Dupage County Health Department in Addison Illinois (630)682-7400. The personnel didn’t wanna accept the fact that I was exercising my rights to record in public. A mental patient even jumped up outta his seat aggressively acting like he wanted to fight me. And ultimately 3 COPS came including a Sergeant.

This is a great Sgt.
Sgt. Fuentes is very educated on the law and what civil rights are. He didn't chase anyone off, he offered respect, took the time to listen, and most importantly took the time to engage with the public and everyone walked away learning something.
It's obvious why Sgt. Fuentes is in the position he is in, this guy is a true leader with integrity and what every police officer should be. I believe this so much so that I called and wanted to compliment his service.
No rights violated, every one lived and learns something. Great piece of life captured in a video.

Public facilities are defined as institutional responses to basic human needs, such as health, education, safety, recreation, and worship. Public hospitals are fully funded by the government and operate solely off of money that is collected from taxpayers to fund healthcare initiatives. If the taxpayers pay for the services rendered there, then that is absolutely a public facility.

To prevent patients for getting exposed, yes.
Plus those terms look good on the career ending restraining orders (to prevent FURTHER retribution and harassment) while you pursue their badges...
Disorderly is a crime and while you are following the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Not even Congress can take a Right. And make it a crime in a public place.
It is a public building. PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENTS ARE PUBLIC. Auditors film

Per HIPAA if you walk away from your desk, you secure any private information & lock your computer. Private health info should not be in THE PUBLIC FREAKING LOBBY!!! James is absolutely right, they need to tell the workers, he is not doing anything illegal.

The argument that to protect their sensitive information, that they display and conduct in public, they have to violate the civil rights of others that are in public is 100% equivalent to this; If I run down the public street shouting out loud my credit card information and then in order to protect my information, that I just displayed/said out loud, I will have to arrest anyone that overheard it!

In my humble opinion the only thing that I would add is to let the police know that filling out this paperwork and handling this business is not the only reason I am here I am here for educational purposes exercising my rights and documenting my interaction with police and public servants because they want to keep saying you need to hurry up and just fill it out and leave well you have a dual purpose in this building and they need to understand that!! It amazes me that people think they have a right to privacy in public. Also when you ask someone to do something, doesn't mean they have to do it.
I would have definitely told him that I would start to fill out the FOIA request as soon as I see their cars leave the parking lot.
This young officer just has tunnel vision he's not interested in the first amendment or the oath he swore a oath to ,a public officer trying to inforce policy not law ,he's one of them cop's do has. I say and not has do.

I'd really like to see that local ordinance that supposedly overrides the constitution Peterson was talking about. I had no faith until Fuentes arrived that things were going to turn out the right way. Wish they had bodycams so we could see what Fuentes and Deborah talked about.

Fuentes tried like hell to bend the "no privacy in public" angle, much like to 2 initial officers. Some cops just don't want to completely understand basic laws or their just too dumb to. Any angle they try to pull on you, you shut them down immediately. The looks on their faces when you do is priceless!
