yea I dont clearly play modern and I personaly set to anime buttons when i do so no real idea what to set for default .but I just realy wanted to get the word out theirs cause default is trash. I like your set up. seems realy solid. Message for viewers: Pepes feel free to mess around with stuf an see what fits you. Id recommend this set up over what i sed.
I disagree. I feel that you only find it weird and unnatural because you've been playing fighting games for a long time. People I've handed the controller to who have never touched fighting games picked up the default modern controls pretty quickly.
@@1wayroad935 no it's literally worse it doesn't matter about time frame. A pro player can pick up new control schemes or new games and play well. If it offered ANY advantage it would be played at the highest level. It's less than 1 out of 100 gold and above players play modern controls. So no time won't make it better it's nerfed damage with ease of access if you already know how to execute which every good player does then it CANT offer an equal or better ANYTHING.
@@1wayroad935 it's great for starting out, but if you already know how to do special moves with consistency you shouldn't touch modern because you lose some of your normals and damage but because you already know how to execute specials you lost those two things for NOTHING with 0 literally NO benefit. Don't argue you are wrong.
Yo, I just came across your video today after downloading SF6 the other night. I’m mainly a MK player and the way you described the button layout as if you’re coming from MK to SF makes complete sense.
Ive been playing since SF2 and i embraced modern right away. Mostly to play characters i never tried before. Im a competent chun li player and before i never really got her. It opens up possibilities to transition to new characters. 20% off in damage for some moves is not that big of a deal. It means at most you have to do one more attack than your opponent to win the round.
Modern controls for older players definitely should stick with their classic controls. I've played over 100 matches with modern and it still feels very weird to use, I do win alot of matches but the inputs and stuff are not satisfying to land AT ALL. But for newer players definitely just use modern you won't notice much of a difference
I haven't played anything similar before and jumped into modern controls because classic is a nightmare - can't say I will really attempt to swap anything after 40 hours into sf6 so far .-.
the main thing is you are missing some buttons on modern that clasic has. And depending on the charcater the bouton you miss might be realy important or not. like luke modern has all of his best buttons while jamie is missing most of his best buttons. but if you are not planing to play hig level modern is actualy better since you can react faster with super by simply presing two buttons instead of doing a hig level execution technique.
So how come when I try to use moves like spinning bird kick and the rolling attack. It doesn’t work when I press the inputs in modern controls. I have to like hold left or right on the d-pad and spam triangle to get them to work. That just takes to much in a real match. Any idea why this happens?
right? like youd think if their goin light medium heavy go anime but no. plus it has it setr to modern by default and if you change in on seeting doe snot apply all? hopefully with enoughf complaints they will change it. cause as it is way to frustrating.
@@greatestgamer00 That's an understatement. I went into the options menu first when I played the beta and for about 5 matches, I barely scathed by my wins with "simple". It frustrated me till I realized there was ANOTHER menu I had to go to and change the controls there too.
I would've gone X to Throw and circle for special, leaving the Drive Buttons on L1/L2, otherwise solid advice

I mean it is less viable if it had any bonuses then low ranked players wouldn't be the only people using it
@@diotheworld6430 Of course it's less viable right now, we've had the control system for less than a month.

@@diotheworld6430 Gotta love the close-mindedness. I'll bookmark this for posterity when this becomes a laughable opinion.
As someone who just started and started with classic and then told to which to modern which felt weird, after using this, it feels amazing now.
most underrated modern control layout (and one of the only) video
I played like so much of the game without doing that, suddenly switched mapping and holy hell noticed an immediate difference for the better
Yo, I just came across your video today after downloading SF6 the other night. I’m mainly a MK player and the way you described the button layout as if you’re coming from MK to SF makes complete sense.
Glad I could help

I suck at steet fighter games I use to play it on Nintendo consoles as a kid but I’m trying to get used to the controls on SF games to get better
Anyone familar with Guilty Gear or Arc-System games in general, will catch on to Modern controls easily
Modern controls for older players definitely should stick with their classic controls. Great Video. This is great. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
is modern worse than classic in any way?

it does 20% less damage on everything aswell
Just from the intro, yes it felt very off.

You need hold back for 2sec then press farward plus button(X,square,O)
theirs ann input problem currently with the game. no idea when capcom gona fix it.
Using 3 button attack set-up? Lame.
I feel like this not being the default is ridiculous and how you have to apply this is too convoluted.

I’m use to tekken so all light punches goes on the 4 buttons and all the mixed buttons go on the triggers/bumpers
aHhh yea i have my trigers set to botuon combos as well in tekken. the anime template might be more up your aley if yor goin modern.
🙏🏽 thank you
No problem 😊
