True so many struggling. She could really add flavor with non sodium seasonings. So people you can doctor up these items to fit your taste. Like her mash potatoes in box, if you add 1 tbsp mayo it will make then amazing in flavorful.
This is a good time in life to stop judging people. My sister & her son had some very hard times and they shopped at Dollar Tree for food some years back. Merry Christmas!
Several years ago we moved out of state due to my husband's job transfer; he had to move in March and our kids and I were moving in July. He went to Dollar Tree for toiletries, basic kitchen supplies and food. The cashier looked at him and said, "Divorced?" 😳🙄 But, he did find how valuable Dollar Tree can be when you have to pay for 2 households. I love to find great bargains there!
Since getting divorced, my dad has struggled with making meals. He needs easy and since I've shown him your channel it's really helped him! I was really starting to worry. Thanks for all you do~
I read your blog post on why you do these types of videos and it really touched me. We get caught up in our own lives and don’t even realize what other people might be going through. This was great!
Honestly,You don’t have to go to Dollar Tree to find dollar items. Many of the things for a holiday dinner can be purchased for a dollar or a dollar and some change at the grocery store or even cheaper at Walmart.
Here’s a tip on the frozen veggies...blanch them first (place in boiling water for a couple minutes, then a couple minutes in an ice bath). Then drain/dry them and set aside while you prep the rest of the meal. Then use the veggies just like you planned. It REALLY helps keep them from getting that sad mushy texture that they have if you cook them straight from frozen. Plus it helps bring out the colors. It’s an extra step, but it really helps!
I love everything you did, I have to say I’m a dollar tree shopaholic 😂, the one in my town it’s really big and every Wednesday they bring new things. People don’t realize that at the supermarket they pay $4 for the same thing I got for just $1, I drink premier protein and dollar tree has chocolate, caramel, vanilla and oatmeal, Costco sells an 18pack for $26, at DT I can buy 18 for $18. How can people not see this. I will be doing some of the things u did here looks great. ☺️
This would be awesome to gift as well. Can you imagine an entire ready made Brunch showing up at your door? I mean instead of a $20. gift this would be a gift of love! My Father is 87 (God Bless Him) and he doesn't eat very much, but does like to try a little bit of everything. He eats more that way. So this would be perfect Thank You!
I send my daughter in Omaha a ready, set, go meal (as I call it) each Christmas. Pasta Dinner, make at home pizza and a few years ago I sent them pancake and muffin mix with syrup, dried blueberries, sprinkles - all the fixings and hot cocoa stuff with some cute holiday mugs. They make great gifts and can easily be put together with items from the Dollar Tree or other discounts stores.
@@amygill7221 Yes. Also Dollar Tree is a great place to put together your own "Gift Baskets." You can include a mixing bowl, whisk, a rubber spatula, baking pans and any oven mit/towel combo. You can put together a "Movie Snack Basket" or "Spa Basket" and "Stocking Stuffers". Plus they have great crafts and party supplies! I love my Dollar Tree. Just bought a bunch of seeds and seed starting supplies. (Could be another gift basket)
That looks so good. Nice presentation too. This is great for us. We have a budget of 76.00 a week for groceries and pets. It is just the two of us so things like this helps. Thank you. I just subscribed to your channel. My name is Juliekaye from Texas.
So grateful for your easy way of presenting meals on a budget. Many struggling families out there…and there but for the grace of God go any of us. Hard times are upon us and could get worse.
Thank you so much for doing this. We have a 99 cent store in my town and so many of our older residents who are on fixed incomes can go there to get fresh fruits and veggies and also treats like cinnamon bread and lemon cake. A lot of these stores are part of the communities dial a ride program as well, check with your Department of Parks and Recreation to see if you can get a ride to your local Dollar Tree or 99 cent store.....the service is for any age, not just seniors!! Great video!!
This is my first time here, and I just want to thank you for these videos. I read your blog, and I know videos like this are a blessing to many! God bless you as you continue working and helping others feed Freud families! ❤️❤️
This popped up today in my feed and I just have to say I am always pleasantly surprised with the food you can get at Dollar Tree. If you have access to the 99cent and More store, between the 2 places you can make a decent meal. 99cent store has fresh fruit and veggies and most can be bought for 99 cents (sometimes it a little more but it’s usually less than any grocery store prices). Before the pandemic (now we only shop pick up for all our groceries due to my husband’s health) I would buy my bagged salad mix and usually other veggies and fruit from the 99 cent store as it was less than any other place in town on average. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year may it be bright and full of good cheer.
I just found you on RUclips an I just wanted to say thank you for your kindness! 2020 has been a hard year for everyone an it is refreshing to see someone go above and beyond for others. Also, the food looked delicious!
I lay the frozen veggies out on a cooling rack to thaw. Towel or pan under it will catch the water. Then cook it up. Affordable meals are so important- thank you.
Everything looks sooo good! What an awesome and imaginative brunch for under 20 bucks! The mini chicken and waffles were brilliant. Thanks for sharing and Happy Holidays!
Growing up we didn't have a lot of money so my mom stopped where she could to feed us .And now that I am older and have a family to take care of we shop the dollar tree very often . I love everything you put together it looked amazing. You don't have to spend a fortune to make a meal .
It may be a southern “no-no” but I love chicken and waffles with hot honey. It’s like a honey with chili to give it some spice. Sooo yummy as well for the adults!
Now I'm wondering what strawberry jam and chipotle mustard would taste like on chicken and waffles? I'm not a syrup person, usually extra butter but my chicken dip is usually either mayonnaise or creamy Italian dressing with a little teriyaki and chipotle mustard. l will try it tomorrow if I remember!
I get all of our house hold supplies and some pet supplies at the Dollar Tree. . Now that I see this video I am going to start shopping for some food items and try them out too.

My dollar tree was insane today. Looked like a tornado went through that store 🌪️ They only had 2 cashiers so I decided to leave. Good job on all your food. 🤓👍
I love this and your channel. I remember having to shop at the dollar tree because we had very little money after paying all of our bills. I think people forget that some people in the world are just a paycheck from being homeless or not having enough to feed their families. I remember the food stamp office told me that I made $100.00 over the amount to receive assistance. Thank you for this channel and continue to make videos like this. God bless you.

I remember my mom would get the government commodity boxes and would make some great meals. A dollar store would have been a blessing for us back then. Variation on French toast casserole: Peaches and cream French toast casserole: drain a can of peaches and dice, add a little peach or apricot or other preserves, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, a little syrup, and some cubes of cream cheese. We layer half the bread then the peaches and cream cheese, then remainder of bread, then bake. I use broken up croissants for the bread, so I’m not sure how sliced bread would hold up.

It’s great to see all the products I discover watching this video. I will definitely subscribe. I also read the reason you shop at Dollar tree. I am impressed with you even more. Why in the world would people be judging about people shopping at dollar tree? There are people in this country that live in food deserts and don’t have cars. But people are always concerned about what everybody else is doing. I’m fortunate enough to live by a farmers market that has great prices so I don’t eat most of what’s in your video but I love that you’re doing this for people that need it.
I appreciate your blog post. Far too many people don't have an understanding of things like food deserts. Dollar stores often go places grocery stores won't. When it comes down to it, feeding your family what you CAN is better than not eating. I have colleagues that have relied on dollar tree for groceries. Just because some people are fortunate enough to be picky about where they shop, doesn't mean everyone is.

I read your blog and I think you are doing a great thing. A lot of people are struggling and if this helps them then great. I have shopped at dollar tree before and find some good items. You don't have to be struggling to shop there and people shouldn't look down on others if they do.
I am always saving my bread but only thought to make stuffing I think the casserole will be awesome! Such a good idea for chicken and waffles too that will be perfect!

I am always saving my bread but only thought to make stuffing I think the casserole will be awesome! Such a good idea for chicken and waffles too that will be perfect!
