Steve Stock is spot on: 20K maximum allowable for a single axle per bridge formulas, which is recognized across all states. If you operate a semi with tandem axles, the maximum increases to 34K. Some get confused and think they can simply double the 20 and get 40 - but that will get you an overweight ticket in a heartbeat!
Outside of that, as Steve said, the overall weight on the axle must also NOT exceed the documented tire ratings stated on the tire. Your tires are those huge 22.5 grabbers - most likely going to allow a 20K max I would think. Next time you're rolling on the ground repairing a light, take a look on the sidewall and find that maximum tire rating. Multiply that by the number of tires on that axle (4 on rear, of course) - and that will be your maximum if under 20K.
Some guys running single-rear-wheel trucks pulling hotshot trailers get themselves into the mud by exceeding that tire capacity on the rear axle. Most load range E heavy duty truck tires on pickups have a load rating of 3600 LBS or so - multiply that by 2 and you are a shade over 7K. You'd better bet DOT officers can spot an overloaded rear axle a mile away, and when he hits that scale and shows anything over that on his rears, he's done.
Glad the truck is rolling good. I am noticing dealers are getting packed in too.... makes me wonder if 2021-2022 might have just been the pinnacle of the RV sales cycle, and it will be start getting rough for all of us going into 2023 and beyond..... but hey, "LET'S GO BRANDON"! Yeah...... HE did do that LOL.

Thanks for the awesome insight! I'm headed down to TX this week so I'll check it out and mention it in this vlog- I'm maybe three weeks behind right now, just a heads up!
I've wanted to reach out and try to find the industry sales norms over the past years to see the trends and how the plan, I mean, demic increased the rate of sales. I suspect we'd see a decrease that would go back to the historical data with maybe a slight dip lower at first because of the camper buying frenzy that's been happening for the past two years... 🤷‍♂️

Justin Barnes: Thank you for verifying about the 34k for Tandem axle. There's not too many Haul and Tows running tandem axles, that's why I did not mention that. I've been in the transportation field since 1980, so this is usually just second nature for me except for the updates about Hazmat which RV haulers do not have to worry about.
I was going to be doing RV transport this last fall, but then I got promoted, and got some Amazon stock for being promoted October 3rd to a Management position of Transportation training coordinator. I am keeping my options open by attempting to locate a truck for Haul and Tow part-time like Shawn did starting out. That way I can use my money made at my full-time job at Amazon, to pay all my bills at the house, and make all my payments on a truck and everything by the money I make on RV transport.
