    I am absolutely obsessed with Rapunzel and she’s the only one I was focusing on for a really long time then realized that I need to focus on others too

    Thank you so much! I’m nervous to do an Elsa gig but with your tips, I am most definitely ready! One question though, how much would you recommend to charge and for how long?

    • @queenofcamp832
      @queenofcamp832  5 лет назад +2

      ChristinaSensimilla hmm, pricing is a tough one. Are you in the UK or US? I know the US charge a lot more because there’s more of a market for it out there. I used to charge £50 for an hour where I would just turn up and join in on games and stuff that the parent had planned and take pics with the kids, or £100 for 2 hours where I host and organise the entire party. However I know of a girl who charges £200/£300 for a couple of hours. I think it really depends on what service you’re offering. But don’t forget you can charge extra if you have to travel further to get to the venue! There’s more info on this in my more recent video (Part 5 - step by step booking process). Take a look xx

    Do you sing at your parties? I'm thinking of starting a small business and I'm so scared that the children will ask me to sing because I can't sing. And do you think a made up princess will sell just as well, I'm also scared a child will start crying because I'm not a Disney princess. Thank you

    • @queenofcamp832
      @queenofcamp832  5 лет назад +8

      natalie w. As long as in all of your advertising (on social media, on your posters/leaflets, booking forms, etc) you say something like “we are in no way affiliated with the Walt Disney/Marvel, (whatever characters you are portraying) company. All character names used are in the public domain.”
      Then you should be fine haha! Just make sure to check which character names are owned by Disney, Marvel, other big companies and which ones are fine to use :) x

    Do you have any advice on how to stay in character? I want to work as a party princess for a business but I’m a little shy around kids. Do you have any advice on how to work with kids?

    • @queenofcamp832
      @queenofcamp832  4 года назад +1

      that girl good question! I would say just watch the character’s movie as much as you can. And also go on RUclips and search for videos of characters interacting at Disney parks.
      For example type in “Elsa meet and greet Disneyland” and watch the videos. Study how she moves, how she talks. How she answers questions and what questions she asks.
      Some kids will be super shy and won’t speak, so in that situation you have to do the talking. You can talk about other characters from the movie. For example if you were Ariel you could say “you know, this morning I was hanging out with Flounder and we played hide and seek. I was swimming all over looking for him for hours, and it turned out he was hiding in my hair the whole time!”
      Some kids will be super chatty and ask you every question from “what’s your favourite colour” to “how did you get here today?” - just say your favourite colour is whatever colour your costume is. If you know the films well you’ll be able to answer anything (and make stuff up - they’ll never know!)
      Get a family member or a friend to hot seat you and ask you questions and you can practise answering in character :)

    Hi, I’m wanting to start this as a business this Christmas and I was just wondering how you deal with copyright? Is it just a matter of not saying Disney? Or do I need to buy something/do something?

    • @queenofcamp832
      @queenofcamp832  5 лет назад +7

      Okay so basically you can't use any of the names that Disney copyrights. Snow White and Cinderella are fine because those are the names of the original books written by separate authors, not Disney. However if you're doing an Elsa type character you would have to say The Snow Queen instead. Also "Princess Beauty" instead of Belle. If you aren't sure about others then take a look at Little Princess Parties' website. I learnt everything from their character names, haha!

    • @queenofcamp832
      @queenofcamp832  5 лет назад +5

      Oh and just never mention Disney's name on your page or website. If you set up a website or facebook page then maybe put a disclaimer saying something like "these characters are not associated with any other major company". I can't remember the wording exactly but Little Princess Parties do this on their website too, so take a look! x

    • @queenofcamp832
      @queenofcamp832  4 года назад +1

      Hannah Fullick no you don’t need a license (at least not here in the UK), but you do need to follow some rules so that you don’t end up getting a lawsuit from Disney. I have 8 videos on this topic that should answer all your questions, be sure to give them a watch x

    Hey I'm a black girl and I really want to try doing Princess Parties but a majority of the princesses are white. Do you think kids would notice my skin color if I played some one like Cinderella or Belle?!

    • @queenofcamp832
      @queenofcamp832  4 года назад +1

      Diamond McCullough hey gal, great question and glad to hear you’re interested in the industry. It honestly depends, you can definitely lighten a lot with makeup but I would say Belle is a safer choice over Cinderella as Belle has dark eyes and hair anyway so would probably blend better with your natural look. However I would say that there’s a tonne of companies who provide the black princesses and they’re super popular. A key factor is also you’re confidence: if you feel the part, you’ll look more of the part! Maybe buy some cheap princess wigs from amazon and try them on to get a feel for who you think looks right for you. Let me know how it goes! Lots of love xx
