  • Follow this guide to black out your Model 3 or Y pillars by vinyl wrapping them. We show you how to wrap in bulk and how to wrap using our template kit. I'm working on a Model Y in this video, but it's the same process for the 3 as well.

      Tried your pillar delete kit today, found it impossible to get the p2/d2 vinyl to hug the curvature over the windows, without bending into pockets I couldn't get out without creasing. Unfortunately, it all ended in the trash. Maybe vinyl isn't for dyi, at least for me.

      Same. My car is wrapped baby blue and the wrap doesn’t cover the whole curvature so some of the blue is showing. I ended up trashing it unfortunately.

    Did the gloss black this weekend and it went pretty well. Thank you for adding in extras cuz I definitely messed up. The curve on d2 and p2 is definitely the most difficult because it’s hard to bend the vinyl without pinching the material a bit. Had to do a lot of rework. Perhaps if the vinyl was somehow pre curved both along the length and across the pillar it would be easier. Just my two cents. Love the product.

    @TESBROS - which among satin/matte/glossy does match my Red MY OEM trims?

      Satin will match the trims the best!

    I have a stock metallic grey MY. Will a black pillar delete stand out? If not, have any color recommendations that go well with the color of my car?
    Thanks and superb video. You showed the pros and cons of going with either method to installing, which is much appreciated as a customer.

      Black would be your best bet, but if you wanted to go wild, you could honestly pick any color! Email support@tesbros.com for a custom order. Hey Tesbros - I have a white 2023 Model Y, and I'm going to order your pillar delete kit. Any thoughts on what looks best in terms of satin vs. matte vs. glossy with the white car? I'm leaning matte, but curious what you guys think and/or what the popular opinion is. Thanks!

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Год назад +4

      Satin and matte are most popular. For white id go with satin! It’ll match your oem trims.

      I saw a stock white Tesla with the black satin pillar delete and it looked amazing. I asked the owner if he did it himself and if it was from Tesbros, he said yes and yes. I complimented how seamless it looks. He did a superb job.

      I'm thinking about doing this and will probably go with satin. One thing though. I've seen comments here and elsewhere about satin matching the trim but isn't the idea of a pillar delete, to match the glass and not the trim? The answer may still be satin but just for the record, I think its more important to match the glass and not the trim.

    Hello from Sunny Australia where its freeIng and miserableat the moment., a bit of a stupid question, but there is a reson why i have that question 😀
    Can you put that pillar on the top of PPF?

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Год назад

      Not a stupid question! You can, but only if your PPF isn't ceramic coated/has a hydrophobic layer. It won't adhere very well if it has that.

    What looks the best on a white M3 car matte black or glossy black in your opinion?

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Год назад +1

      Satin black will match the OEM trims and glossy black will match the roof. I’d pick satin for a more seamless look with the trims but it’s all preference

    Great video by comparing the two methods! Here is the first question I have before making an order and hope you can shed some lights: do small changes like pillar delete or racing stripes require an update to the DMV/insurance?

    • @tesbros

      Nope! Only if you change the entire color.

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Год назад

      You can definitely wrap over PPF. The only thing that'll make it more difficult to wrap is if you ceramic coat it so make sure you do that step last if you plan on doing it.
