That’s why you don’t do target practice outside the fence in a zombie apocalypse.
I guess most of the zombies around the city were wiped out by them so the outside area is not that dangerous. They only couldn’t expect Big Daddy and his army of undead are on their way to them.
@@believehumbly5492I get what you’re saying but in a zombie apocalypse you have to treat the perimeter as if a horde 1M strong are right outside wanting in, especially if you haven’t seen any in awhile. Training outside the protection of the fence is tantamount to suicide especially if it’s two rookies
@@Mr.Doodlebob I don’t know how long they keep the vicinity clear in the movie. When Cholo argues with Mr.Kaufman, he mentions the apocalypse has been going on for at least three years. If the army of the survivors keep the vicinity clear for at least two years, then I guess it’s pretty reasonable for those two rookie soldiers to do the training outside the fences. It’s pretty hard for people to always stay alert. If the threat disappears and doesn’t come back for a while, then people will easily let their guard down. This movie doesn’t spend time on telling what happened at the beginning of the apocalypse, I guess Romero thought his fans should know everything about his living dead universe. And that’s why many people think the plot of this movie is weird.
Another thing that might support my assumption before is, Mr.Kaufman mentions the place Riley’s team scavenges is called Uniontown. Uniontown is about 80 miles away from Pittsburgh. That means the places close to the downtown area of Pittsburgh are almost clear or they wouldn’t go to Uniontown to do the supply run. That might also explain why those two rookies dare to go outside at night.
Remember, _none_ of these men were real soldiers. Kaufman just dolled up a few mercs and hoped it would make the civilians feel safe. When push came to shove, they all folded or cut n' run
I think that fact goes over most peoples heads.
The only soldier there was the Captain, the dude who was in charge of the Fiddler Security Force. He was shot in the head by Riley while chowing on some fellow mercs lol
@@mr.ryceguy6854
True! He was a member of the National Guard, likely one of the men Kaufman hired to train the group of mercenaries. He fought to the end, _bravely,_ too, but he didn't deserve to go out like that.
@@theshizl4400 agreed. And wow, Kaufman, Dennis Hopper knows how to play a good villain, good movie all around
@@mr.ryceguy6854
Well said! He also plays inspiring hero characters! Hopper was _awesome_ in *Texas Chainsaw Massacre II* and *STARGATE!*
Why on earth would you get down from the tower?
He miscalculated the speed of the walkers
Reminds me of the paratrooper scene in army of the dead.
Maybe because zombies will swarm around the tower and collapse it by destroying its pillars. it would be wise to escape the tower before zombies swarm around it. too bad it was too late for them to escape.
@@zhsehatmxkdlf8560fair point but depending on which way to tower fell there could of been a chance or you could of just not shot and acted like you weren’t there so the horde would pass so you can just escape like that lol but that’s just me thinking these zombies are dumb and they’re not really too dumb
because the zombies need plot armor to win all of us know how to shoot zombies all of us know towers are great even if zombies can climb they can only come up one at a time and multiple would fall each time you take one down and if the tower has a hatch to shut they wouldn't ever be able to get up
One of my favorite zombie movies, up there with Dawn of the Dead remake
@user-gm6gc6ph7pI remember I had the DVD when I was like 12. Back then, it was a cool movie. Now I see that it’s mad corny. Brings back some nostalgia though. Hiding the DVD from my parents. Ordering a pizza to watch it when they went out 😆
Definately a generational thing
I really have no idea why these soldiers can be slaughtered by the zombies. All they need to do is : hide in a building, lock the door, shoot the zombies from the roof. George.Romero is a legend which bred the idea of flesh-eating zombie, that’s no doubt. But how he directed these zombie-killing scenes was really too dump.
Because if the soldiers were competent the movie would be over in ten minutes.
did you ever played project zomboid? :)
Its one of the main cliches that make zombie movies stupid.
Well, after reading about the movie. It is said that the reason the soldiers were so incompetent is because the people in charge became negligible and didn't properly train the troops because they thought the risk of an invasion was impossible or unlikely to happen or just didn't care. Whether or not you think that's a good explanation, I'll leave that up to you.
@@michaelsoulz8447 Of course that’s not a good explanation. The Militias in the downtown area of Pittsburgh might be incompetent, all right. But the soldiers in that outpost shall be able to handle the zombies pretty well. Because they are the ones going through the zombie-infested places and scavenging essential supplies for the survivors in the city. Logically, they shall be competent because they have to stay competent to stay alive.
Imagine Big Daddy and Bud from Day of the Dead teaming up…that’d be a cool movie
Bub was actually in this movie (Not Howard Sherman playing him) but his character in the gas station. They killed him in the beginning of the film.
0:54-0:58 What a jump scare!😨🧟♂
OH MY GOSH THE SMARTEST ZOMBIE WHO KNOWS HOW TO USE A GUN
Why would that soldier wanted to leave his vantage point (the tower) 😢
Maybe because zombies will swarm around the tower and collapse it by destroying its pillars. it would be wise to escape the tower before zombies swarm around it. too bad it was too late for them to escape.
I hated how movies made most of the background actors seem incompetent compared to the main actors.
While the main characters seem like they just had it all figured out step by step
The worst kind of zombie is the one with a weapon.
Great movie
that dude with the aug knows how to shoot.
who ? i dont know the guns
@@user-rc2ez2ly4g the zombie who hold the gun
You mean the big zombie leader can shoot
I just met Eugene last Saturday at comic con very cool guy
Yeah his character is called Big Daddy! An upgraded zombie version of Bub from Day Of The Dead 1985
Is that Aurelio in John Wick? Lol looks so familiar
John Leguizamo great actor and comedian
No heavy weapons posted and it wasn't thousands of zombies - each person has a 30 round mag I saw at least 6 people shooting that's 180 rounds and they can't wipe out 100 zombies ?
The “soldiers” were basically the equivalent of mall cops (not dissing mall cops) and that’s what the guys in charge wanted competent enough to look the part of protector for the citizens but not competent enough to be a threat to the leaderships actual troops and power over the city,
Competency of the movies fighter groups
Kaufman personal tower guards
Kaufman personal scavengers + normal scavengers
Inner city guards (swat gear ones)
Outer city/perimeter guards
No wonder big daddy dont have to eat. He's big. The others do eat the soldiers. Luckily dead reckoning got away
Very nice zombie film
There was still one guy i the tower that didn't come down, that was smart. Wait till the zombies all leave THEN come down and run away
Where are the high noon soldiers and female soldiers?
I went to see a scene where they are eaten by a female zombie.
As a kid i was always disappointed with this scene. I feel like Romero maybe dabbled with the idea of letting it get darker by letting Cholo take out Brewbaker somehow but it would've been too much for TV.
Better aim than FTWD military 😂😂😂
The commander if I’m correct he is from diary of the dead
I wonder if it’s the same character
I guess it would make sense chronologically
No same actor but plays 3 different characters in Land, Diary and Survival of the dead.
@@Burstify can’t be 3 different characters
Especially since all of the dead movies take place within a timeline
But if it is that would be a waste of continuity
@@TheonlyRIV Yes he plays different characters.
He's not the only actor that reappears in the other dead films, in Land of the dead, "Mike" the guy who gets his hand bitten at the store then shoots himself in the head, the actor is also in Diary of the Dead for which he played as "Tony". And the actor who plays the zombie "Butcher" with the meat cleaver has appeared in Dawn of the Dead(2004) and in Diary of the Dead. and lastly the actor who plays "Brian" in Land of the dead who was the kid, was also in Survival of the Dead which he played as "The Boy".
These guys just love being in zombie films that's all.
Also Land of the dead, diary of the dead, and survival of the dead do not take place in the same timeline. Only the original Night of the living dead, Dawn of the dead, and Day of the Dead.
Bro thinks he's the governor 💀💀💀
With all that firepower, the zombies would be barely a threat. Glad to see the soldiers and mercs scoring headshots.
But someone has to be the idiot ball so the zombies emerge victor.
All that time and they don't reinforce the perimeter from a possible swarm attacking a very flimsy fence!?
Not like zombies are strong. Also they could have out walked the zombies…. They only move quick when they aren’t in shot
@@user-or4pc9dz7x they cant tear heads from bodies and limbs they're pretty freaking strong lol
The soldiers have such bad aim😂
Honestly the soldiers could have just out walked them
Even at the end of the world, the rich lorded over the poor. Didn't agree with what Cholo did, but I understood the why.
Never understood why they used full auto in zombie movies. 🤦
😮😮😮
The alarm 😂. You had to pick the most generic one
If Korean zombie like that (no running)
Whoulda known the pest would become a zombie slayer turn into a zombie reincarneted into john wicks mechanic 😊
Guess zombies getting smarter by the second.
Walking zombies movies all got one plot hole every soldiers or the person who got armed they just didnt know how to move when they were shooting and let the zombie to bite them
They should use a grenade when zombies break the fence
Where is the goddamn canon
ง่าวบะ กรงตาข่ายขังหมา เอามาแป๋งรั้วกันผี
Those poor bastards in the military base
Dreadful film.
Astonishing how unprepared a survival military camp in a zombie apocalypse was to actually survival against a zombie attack.
Land of the Dead, just appalling.
Romero should have just stopped, oh why don't they stop.
Romero's dead.
@@thientuongnguyen2564
I know...
My point is, and continues to be that he should have stopped...
Stopped after 'Dawn of the Dead.'
None of the soldiers actually maneuver and fire. They just stand still and watch the zombies get them. Poor scene and acting.
There is one point a soldier just repels into the horde of zombies. The entire movie they fire full auto wasting ammunition on chest shots. The really stupid thing is the M16s and M60 can't Pierce a chain length fence. Fear the Walking Dead the same stupid.
@@lastswordfighter In both shows the guns sound effects are the same. Looks like soldiers got a blank cartridges lol 😁
@@lastswordfighteralmost every shot they fire at that fence hits a zombie lol. I know it’s not being ripped apart by the bullets but at least in this versus FTWD they actually hit the fucking zombies
It is not the acting thats the problem its the stupid cliche they do.
ZOMBIES that can shoot guns and run fast are STUPID!!! THIS SUCKS
Really you'll complain but I but I bet you watched a movie all the way through didn't you
