Watching this video as a relatively new tent player (I started playing vtent at the start of splat3) was very helpful and nice to see that I already do most of these things one major question I have though is that when I’m shooting people through the shield I have trouble seeing them because of how dark it is do you have any tips on how to avoid/work on this?

I think part of that is just game sense and awareness, but also try tilting your camera down slightly so you can see them over your shield, and then flicking your aim to where you think they're going to be. I'm not Thire or a very competitive player, but I play a lot of Tent so I hope this helps 😅

I agree with Smug-Sonic, tilting the camera downwards to see above definitely helps anticipate the enemy’s movement; you’re naturally incited to do that since your damage is a lot more consistent when you aim downwards toward the enemy’s torso/belly as well. Your (I’m tired and forgot the name) cursor in the middle of your screen changes when an opponent is in it, so you can kind of wave it left-right to check and shoot accordingly, which can also help
Also worth noting that players that are in your blind spot (right in front of your shield) don’t usually stay there and either try to run away or flank your shield: with this in mind, you can back up a bit from your shield (to avoid getting bombed cause that’s usually what the people rushing you like this try to do) and wait for their move and play accordingly.
      Hopefully this helps!

2:14 I can't tell if the succ shield was intentional or arbitrary, I'd've focused on the trio on the right especially with all the incoming fire to fill up the reuse ball.

Maybe, but in that moment shielding my dynamo that was taking the aggro seemed more important to me, as it maybe could’ve offered more value (even though it failed :( )
In that case I think vac on the enemy was indeed a safer play and if vac had received the explosion radius buff at that time, I think I would’ve gone for it
So overall, I agree with you, in today’s context, holding back and using vac on the right side would’ve been better 🤝

Very nice video apart from the timing problems, tho it's clear this is made by using the switch's replay feature and then... aunno what you do to edit it, but it's not a typical video editor.
Still no idea how to use this weapon tho, I guess you have to have a car door gland? secretes car door skills? Gotta be it.

I use an editor for mobile phone, it’s called InShot and yes the gameplay is just a bunch of switch clips stitched together. I don’t have the money for a proper editing setup, with PC and capture card and what not, so for now, this is how we’re gonna do it

More like, "HEY I HAVE A SHEILD SOMEONE STAY NEAR AND USE IT!", and hope they do.

At first I was like "damn the timing on this is awful, I can't read a damn thing" and then I noticed a freaking pause button and was like "Did you even *edit* this?"
Which... I've seen people use apps to slap stickers and stuff on tiktok videos but I've never considered doing that for a proper video.
In any case I have to pause a lot to read everything, but sometimes the text is on there long enough so it's just "uhh?"

      Yeaaaah sorry :(
I tried my best to find a middle ground with the subtitles
With today’s media, where everything is very fast, a lot of people read very quickly, so I wanted to take that into account, but I also wanted to offer others the time to read the text
It’s a difficult middle ground to find, so bear with me 🫠 I’ll ask people on Twitter/X how fast they like subtitles in a video and adapt future videos from there
      Thank you!

@@dtthireI thought the subtitle timing was pretty good, the very first sentence of the very first match was really fast but after that I didn’t notice any issues. Besides, people can always pause the video. Anyways, I thought the video was good, the commentary and editing was funny but also very insightful. I want to try playing Tent more, and I think this video will be very helpful for me :)
