It is fun! I love that it gives me a selection I might not otherwise create. It's also fun to see which ones I avoid. I'm looking forward to (?) Tirant Lo Blanc. I too am curious to see how it reads.
A very intriguing selection! I keep hearing so much about Trollope, I hope to try him out for myself sometime next year. I don’t have many solid plans for my December reading, I’m much more of a “follow your whims” reader. But I do plan to reread Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather over Christmas.
The Warden, while short, I heard is a very timid taste of him, so I'm looking forward to a more solid bite. Enjoy your whims! If I did that it would just be weeks of videos watching me being indecisive!
Right!! Leave it to Tor the 70s-90s to make every book, including classics, look the same. In some ways I'm not sure that was a bad idea. Hope you enjoy your December reads as well.
I recently catalogued all my physical books since my collection is smaller than some (I'm sitting at just under 100 books). Anyway, I've discovered I've only read about half 😅 so I started the year long Read What You Own challenge I happened to come across on booktube last month. And I'll be sprinkling library/libby reads, and ebooks (of which I have hundreds unread😅).
What level did you decide to do for your RWYO challenge? My goal is to read 25 books I own by April when my library’s used book sale takes place. That gives me room to read library books along the way.
@amyschmelzer6445 @amyschmelzer6445 I'm doing Bronze. My yearly goal in the past decade has been 26 books and I've done anywhere from 20-30. This year is the first year since my school days that I've far exceeded my reading goal (I'm at 47 so far). So I'm just going to stick to my 26-30 reading goal as to not put too much pressure on myself. As I'm always trying to support my libraries from now on I'll only buy books I've already read and liked so I'll have to borrow from library, read, then, if I like it, I'll but it. But I'll prioritize my physical unread pile along the way.
@@amyschmelzer6445 let's hope I stick to it 😆. Once I'm all caught up I'll continue building my library by reading through my public library first. That way I'm not needlessly spending money and I support the public library too.
Good luck. I tried that last year. I just keep going into used bookstores and finding great selections. I tend to read what I own, so that's not the issue. It's the "stop adding to what you own" part that I need to challenge myself with...maybe.
This year I started the Barsetshire series. I liked The Warden a lot but I absolutely loved Barchester Towers! It's so amusing and full of drama. Now I can't wait to read the next one in the series. I'll be looking forward to your review of it!
That is an impressive stack! I have never heard of any of these I don’t think. The Italian one sounds super interesting, I wonder what it’s leading up to. “Could you be more stiff?!” 😂
Wow! Even half of that stack is huge! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on them. I'll definitely be rereading David Copperfield and Victorian ghost stories. Other than that, I plan to mood read and hopefully get books off my shelf. 😂
Sounds like a plan! I'm considering reading David next year. At the very least, once the last of the books are out of boxes, I'm going to flip through my edition and reread my favorite parts!
My copy of A Christmas Story just arrived, am looking forward to your event. Finished Dead Souls yesterday, are you aware that it ends like this..."this is the end of the manuscript", it was supposed to be the first of three books inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy, the book ends mid sentence and the second book's manuscript was burned by Gogol, then he died. I'm still trying to process what I read. Back to your post...sorry I'm old, I get side tracked and rant. I will be reading Tolkien for the most of December, I have pretty much everything by or related to him so just going to delve into it. I love your videos, your inspiring.

No champion. You just get used to it after a while. Now when I read books under 300pgs I'm simply amazed that they packed so much in. 😂

We'll see how it goes. Definitely try the audiobook of Zeno's conscience. Bad for driving, great for calming and amusing storytelling.
