After almost a month of having that embarrassing meltdown lose to these same Sharks hang over the Red Wings' heads leading up to this game, I cannot tell you how much elation I felt after Perron scored that late goal and the win was secured where it felt like a demon had been exorcised since THAT GAME. Doesn't matter how close this game was than how it should've been, this was absolutely satisfying to see the Red Wings return the favor by giving the Sharks one of their most heartbreaking defeats in their dwindling season after how THAT GAME went down
I was at the 5-6 loss at lca.
It was 4-0 and I was high fiving my boy and anyone behind or in front. Then because of the beer and edibles, I zoned out out. Looked up, it was 4-4. Wtf happened. Get er goin’ boys
Wings seem lucky to have won this game. These highlights showed a few times a SJ player was all by themselves right in front of the crease.
With how terrible the Wings defense is, I was surprised it didn't happen a lot more!
What else is new with this team and our “efense” (we have no “D”).
I have no concerns with the Wings scoring. When it comes to DEFENSE…..I’m terrified. They can’t play like that against the Kings on Thursday.
Kings are going to be in a foul mood after being shutout by the leafs, of all teams.

@@chettajohnson5261The overhead camera shows Holl in a much more competent light than the head-on camera. He really wasn't close at all, it was more that the puck was less than its own width from the goal line.

Funny to see the boys cheer on Rasmussen at the end to get him to smile 😅😅
Ras always looks like he's got a lemon mouth guard. He rarely smiles. It's so weird . The thing I like so much about bertuzzi is he was always smiling and looked Iike he was having a ball out there on the ice no matter what was happening. Ras just netted the icing on the win and looked like he knows he's got homework waiting in the locker room

Sprong is lighting it up
A W is a W and we needed this but dang the way we played and the amount of chances we gave them it’s lucky we won. Lyon was a beast
So why did Raymond get a penalty for getting crossed checked. (at the 4:16 mark) thats ridiculous. the ref might as well of said 33 San Jose 2 minutes for crosschecking 23 Red Wings two minutes for being cross checked.
We'll take it and run.

I think he’s just always mad
I think it was more of a happy mad typa thing like a FINALLY type of moment like about time typa thing.
Also he could’ve been mad that two sharks tried to trip him (#64 with a stick to the gut trying to pull him down and #68 slashing at his skates) while the game was iced with 8 seconds on a break away no need to try and hurt a guy to stop a breakaway, kinda like just accept defeat at that point but that’s just my take
Did you not see him first get hooked then the other player hooked his leg when it was off the ice. That was dangerous.

The Wings played ho-hum hockey again. They look like the coach sounds, no spark. SJ is a weak team, and the Wings are strong. This was a very weak win by Detroit. This Coach is not an inspiring guy. But a w i a w!

I simply don't understand how the Shark's third goal wasn't goaltender interference... #16 was entirely in the crease and pushed Woll into Lyon. Look at the overhead @9:00! Going by the wording in Rule 8.5, #16 clearly "interferes with the play" by pushing Woll into Lyon AND "obstructs the Goaltender’s view or movements". Should have been reviewed and disallowed.
If obstructing the goalie's view was illegal then there would never be a clean game of hockey ever again and the 'big man in front of the net' position would have never existed. I don't even think 16 would have gotten himself a penalty if he were the one against Lyon, there was almost zero contact at all.
@@icedo1013 it’s a matter of being in the crease, which is clearly interference. Read the rule.
As I have said all along we need a presence in front of the net and that last goal just proved my point. Too bad they can't bring Soderblom up and put him in front.

They have improved massively from how bad they were at the start of the season. But we really still should have easily won this. But we just can’t win games easily. Every single game with this team is insanely close
Too much puck watching and almost no forechecking. Teams just fly into our zone and get wide open slot shots all game long.

Look how many times throughout these highlights Wings players are standing around watching the play in their defensive zone.
You can’t get away with that at the NHL level, being flat footed, puck watching is how bad teams generate chances and claw back into games and it’s how good teams are leaving the Wings in their dust in the standings.
Lalonde’s system is wrong. He’s neutered Seider’s best aspects from his rookie campaign, and our defense has turned into a joke.

@@franklee6301If you go back and watch the videos awood has put up when Osgood first started doing broadcasting you'll notice just how night and day his presentation and his delivery is between then and now. He may be no Keats, but his insight is valuable and he's learned how to handle himself in front of the camera a lot better over his tenure.
