Crazy to see this. I was on holiday from my home in England with my girlfriend at the time, in a band that wasn't going anywhere musically, had recently lost my own mum and pretty much stumbled into attending this show with the girlfriend. E was a big thing at that time. Real Ecstasy and not that Molly rubbish. Attending this show was one in a series of events that changed my life. Long story, I did get to meet everyone in the band, less Eric. He had fucked off immediately after the show apparently. I hooked the others up with about 15 doves. That's what this "brand" of E was called. Had a dove stamped into the tablet. Perry said they called them rolls in the states, and the slang for being on E was called rolling over there, so I've always thought Summertime Rolls was about E since then. That girlfriend left me a few months after this concert, and my fortunes changed. My band was signed in 1992 and we played this same venue in May of 1993. I never knew the story of Then She Did, but it was so powerful, then finding out about his mum and Dave's mum made me feel a kinship with them and I was gutted when they split. My own band did 2 studio albums and our guitarist quit. We carried on and did quite well. We broke up in 2003 and reformed in 2010, started playing and have put out 4 albums since 2013, putting us at 9 studio albums, countess live albums, assorted compilations and reissues. I don't know if any of that would have happened if I wasn't at this fucking concert. Something just clicked that night. They were so good and this recording doesn't do it justice. I'm glad that it exists however because it was a massive turning point for me. I'll always be grateful to them. BA, London. Cheers🇬🇧🏴🔞🎱💉💊🪬♀️
For sure. 100% agree. I was in high school in 1990 and was mainly into the Sex Pistols and dabbling in Guns N’ Roses (more so their first album) and then was introduced to Jane’s. Such a unique band. You could tell they came out of LA in the 80s with the harder guitar driven rock / riffs and big solos but their songs were poetic and interesting and Perry’s voice is very unique. One of my all time favorites.

THey did not get any real advertisement. To be honest 1990 where would we hear them in Texas? Nowhere - I saw the video got caught stealing and I was not into that being the only thing I heard by them and its prolly their worst song in their whole catalog. I would of loved this band back then. Its way more mysterious than tesla mechanical reso and great radio controversy. Which I absolutely loved back then - There is a same baseline they play to hang tough. These guy are far more timeless, like tool. I cant really listen to tesla now but these guys yes, tool yes, and a sound like this. . .
maybe an unpopular opinion (since i saw them several times from 89-91) but after lollapalooza 91 they should have stayed broken up. i am fascinated that 90% of their output was written in 86-87.. crazy.

52:00🤯😁
There is a bootleg of this on red vinyl which sounds terrible but looks really nice
I cant really listen to tesla now but these guys yes, tool yes, and a sound like this. . .
Cash in Now Baby!! And Fuck the Rest!!!
I want my MTV
Wow"! - Can it be 23 years ago since I was blown a-fuckin'-way by JA?
33 years now!
Guns N Roses is Jane's Addiction for squares.
Dude, some taste please! writing gnx is heretic around real bands.
30 years ago today. I was alive then. Were you? 🤔
36:20 :-)
no kidding man!!
maybe an unpopular opinion (since i saw them several times from 89-91) but after lollapalooza 91 they should have stayed broken up. i am fascinated that 90% of their output was written in 86-87.. crazy.
Dave tattoo less now he’s covered
He was in his early 20 s
