- Welcome to the video that has been requested many times! Is the Koenigsegg Regera faster when you put more gears into it than leaving it stock with 1 gear? Well in this video we find out in a range of performance tests including; 1/4 Mile, Brake Test, 60-120 mph, Drag Race, 0-300 km/h-0 & more! @Aliver87 It's not weird, it's what Konigsegg do. 1 gear, direct drive = less friction which means better acceleration and more efficient. The engine is no different, as it doesn't use cam belts or chains

Regera doesn't need transmission swap, it needs drivetrain swap. I remember driving it in Horizon 4 - it was VERY easy to lose control if you are not careful with acceleration.
I like it to show off to people Im using RWD in S2.

The reason that adding the dedicated geartrain wasn't very effective at improving performance outside of top speed and braking is the absence of a torque converter. The 2.45 potential peak of a torque converter means that peak torque multiplication will never be an issue. And even with the dedicated geartrain allowing peak power to be achieved several times, the reduced efficiency loses of solely a torque converter appear to balance that out. However, the dedicated geartrain is lighter than the gearless "Koenigsegg Direct Drive" system because the viscous hydraulic fluid of a torque converter carries a Lot of extra weight. Also, the greater top speed of the dedicated geartrain is simple: more versatility with the equivalent final drive ratio in the highest over-drive gear (in this case, 7th gear).
Sure maybe in real life, but forza treats every car as if it has a manual with clutch. if the telemetry menu was open it would show the clutch slipping rather than a torque converter on the launch of the car. The real reason I suspect is due to the slight wheelspin where the car struggles to put down all the power, and how the car ingame is heavier with the 7 speed (Also the hybrid system helping out the direct drive more at low rpm). All of those things made the gap much closer than I initially thought it would be, and the car irl might be faster with direct drive due to what you mentioned.
I can't watch this for several hours, but I already hit the like button because I've wondered about this ever since you first tested other single-gear hypercars...
Nice detail. They managed to get the direct drive transmission act like in real life; it drones on a certain rpm like a CVT up until to a certain speed where the rpm will increase along with the speed. In the past Forza games it acted like a conventional automatic.

The regera just isn't nearly as competitive without the transmission swap, This was very needed. Keeping those massive turbos spooled at all times really does wonders for the car.
Also with the 7 speed it's in the power band longer producing more speed then stock

Forza physics more gears = better braking distance which would not be correct (more gears create more weight)

Mario is right, according to fh5 physics the more gears to u have, more engine brake you have in manual transmission, but of course doesn't make much sense, cause if you low to first gear in a 7 speed 1000hp car, you definitely brake everything

Didnt watch the full video but i noticed while messing with this car myself that each gear acts the same as the original "transmission" in the car, you will get the best results using 2 gears for the 1/4th and a 3rd gear to hit top speed, your first gear ofcourse tuned to give you the best launch. Even with. All those gears you could tune it to only use one of them and it will act like a normal regera

i remember doing the transmission swap from one:1 mod for regera in dev version in fh3 cuz i didnt think they would ever do it themselves i guess i was wrong
Swap on 10 gears and if you tune it right, it can go the top speed in reverse like in FH3

The only reason why Koenigsegg made the regera with one gear was for top speed only. Makes sense when trying to beat Bugatti's top speed, but otherwise it's completely destroyed in everything else.
The founder of the company said the real reason was for the smoothness of an electric with the top end power of a 1000hp v8. He got the idea after driving a tesla and enjoying the instant acceleration. They have the jesko for top speed, the regera is more of a luxury cruiser than a top speed breaker.

@@alexgreg152 i also have the game and they literally all have the same engine sound with the jesko being slightly different pitched but the same sound. The agera rs, one to 1, cc8s, and regera all have an identical engine sound, with the agera rs and cc8s revving a bit lower. The only different sound is the ccgt.

Not really new. Regera has been like that since beginning. It's permanently locked to 7th gear.

The regera will always be faster with more gears, the power delivery from the one gear sucks in terms of acceleration.
Do you mean quicker? Quicker is about acceleration. Faster is about velocity. Only low-end acceleration sucks. Mid-end - not so much. Top-end makes no difference with 7 gear version.

So conclusion. Does it matter to swap to 7 gears in your regera? No not a lot if you are not going to drag race anyway. Just leave the original one in than it barely makes a difference at all. It also makes the car very unique.
