Thank you Voice of Tibet and a big thank you to Lukar Jam for handling the questions in a dignified, sincere manner. Those were tough questions and Lukar Jam's answers were authentic from his heart without any of the usual political cliches.
Every Tibetan must ask him/herself these questions: 1) Do you want Tibet to be part of China? 2) Do you want Tibet to be ruled by the Chinese Communist Party? and 3) Do you want the PLA in Tibet? If you answered no then you don't believe in the current MWA policy which is Tibet part of China, no democracy, & PLA inside Tibet. Lukar Jam is the only Sikyong candidate who will work to restore Tibet's independence & return Tibet to Tibetans. Over 140 self-immolations in Tibet since 2009. Tibetans are dying for freedom. The CTA says let's negotiate while China says there is no thing to talk about.
What evidence is there MWA will be successful? China has repeatedly & unequivocally rejected MWA. China said they will never negotiate on Tibet's status. And MWA has given up democracy. How can we have genuine freedom without democracy?
Thank you for standing in the Sikyong candidate. Thank you for explaining what we should already know as a Tibetan. Democracy should be practiced and not just talked about in the lectures.
"Democracy should be practiced and not just talked about in the lectures." Excuse me but Lukar isn't giving a lecture here; he is answering questions put to him. Even if he were giving a lecture, how does that make him undemocratic? Isn't democracy about getting your ideas out there in the public domain? Isn't the foundation of genuine democracy based on Dialogue? But ofcourse middleway wouldnt know anything about dialogues: having gotten NONE from China while also giving none to Rangzen proponents. U're quote would have been infinitely more appropriate if it were addressed to the Fake Tibetan Election Commission or to the anti democratic minded Penpa Tsering; but, unfortunately, you didn't. Maybe (like most Umay Lamers), you assume democracy is only about voting and majority rule? Kuchi Tenzin la, give genuine democracy a chance. (BTW, love your dreads)
+Karma Dondup are you telling me or just blabbering .... if you are telling me then before blabbering read properly. i am not saying Lukar is lecturing here .
O my God! What have i done!?!? Am I telling or just blabbering? I don't know!! I suppose I was blabbering more than I am telling; maybe 70% of what I said was blabbering and 30% telling? Would you accept 50/50? I don't want to come off as a pure blabber. Ok, you are right Tenzin la, you didn't specify Lukar Jam. I am sorry for thinking you are wrong, when all this time, I was the one who was wrong.
1:Rangzen vs Ummai Lam---in order to be Sikyong (Political Leader of Tibetan Politics) not supporting Ummai Lam (Middle Path) may disqualifies you. 2:You are disqualified to be a political leader because you dare to criticize His Holiness the Dalai Lama. 3: Called His Holiness "La-rGen". Lama (unsurpassed) plus Gen (elder/teacher.) Final qs: How will you obtain Rangzen? So these are some of the questions and answers for candidate for Political Leader of the six million Tibetans.
If you separate religion from politics, then you will understand Lukar's points. If you are still mired in the 17th century religious dogma, then you will see all the nonsense in your own head.
I am one of his nonsupporter because he criticizes his holiness the Dalai Lama and also insults for his holiness great achievements. These days youth trying to be modern often forgets that without a great leader like his holiness we a handful of Tibetans would not be able to maintain a true democracy. Do u even support him after watching this video where he clearly says that considering Dalai Lama as a human he can be wrong at times. Wrong in what??? Yeah you don't be that modern that u become one of those people who is more dangerous than dhoegyal practitioners and Chinese communists
+FreeTibetChinaOUT Lukar points may seems to sound nice to our ears but not realistic in nature. Lets say Religion was separated from Politics. Who would lead all the political activities inside Tibet. At the moment it is the monks and monastery that have carried on Tibet's political struggle. Without these monks and monastery. Tibet will a lost cause.
+tenzin dechen Do you want Tibet to be part of China? Do you want democracy for Tibet? The current MWA is Chinese sovereignty over Tibet & no democracy for Tibet. Do you want Tibet ruled by the CCP?
You've to be discreet as much as possible to judge whether what he says is politically valid or otherwise. Discreet in the sense that religion and politics should be taken as mutually exclusive field of study and practices. At this point, I couldn't but end up supporting Mr.Jam for his efforts to enlighten the society about the very definition of democracy " it's for the people, to the people and by the people". No intermediary stands between the people and the medium through which people are subjected to political enlightenment.
He has too much to talk and tells that his holiness is giving away the tibet. No thats not it, His holiness has worked 70 years for tibetan exile and how fucking dare he says that.
i support Mr Lugar Jam...Rangzen...
Thank you Voice of Tibet and a big thank you to Lukar Jam for handling the questions in a dignified, sincere manner. Those were tough questions and Lukar Jam's answers were authentic from his heart without any of the usual political cliches.

Yes there is a need for a strong democrat to seek for a free tibet but demeaning HHDL is where he is getting really wrong.
In our democracy he is the Right to stand for Sikyong. But, he is not at all suitable and acceptable for Sikyong. So, I cannot vote for him.
Lukar Jam or Dam,, no more fairy tales plzz...
