Those 31 cubic inch motors are favorites of mine - especially the ones '84 and newer (thru hub) with 3-dog gears. I also like the 3-cyl. 50-75hp motors, '78 and later with the updated mid-sections which had integral trim and tilt. And then I also like the 60-degree loopers.............. and, and and. They are such great engines my first introduction to them was in McGregor Bay Ontario north shore of Lake Huron east of Manitoulin island. I believe that's one of the first era Outboards that measure the horsepower at the prop and it was so much more powerful than the old 25 that had been on it.
