I’m the owner of this record label but I was a Nick Bolletieri protege in 1985 along with Andre Agassi and I have really enjoyed watching dozens of your videos. Really amazing content. At 57, I’ve decided after decades of not playing, to start training again and play my first ITF Seniors 55 and a Futures tournament this October. You’ve inspired me. A bow of gratitude
in 2020 i changed my mindset, and today I'm not willing to hit as many winners as in the past. Despite that i prefer to keep the ball in play, and let my oponent make an error. it is a huge change for me
I don't think being unwilling to hit winners is beneficial. If you prefer to keep the ball in play, don't wait for an opponents error, wait for his short balls, wait for a good opportunity and strike, I don't believe waiting for errors is a good tactic, especially when your opponent has a good day. Look at Djokovic-Thiem semi-final in the ATP finals, third set, tie-break, Djokovic was waiting for Thiem's errors and lost the tie-break despite being 4-1 up. Be offensive, be interesting, especially if you aren't a professional, play for the love of tennis, play artistically, play with an open mind and play for beautiful points. Go for it man! I believe in you.
@@MrMartin48705 Hi, I don't avoid to hit winners. I just don't try to hit them in every point and in every situation. I'm not taking as much risk as in the past, I place the ball further from the line, I don't try to kill every shot or hit ,,highlights-ball". When I'm in good position, then obvoiusly I go for the winner, but I just do less often and in more comfortable situations than before. And this is the change which occured in my game. Cheers!
I liked the parts about when NOT to go for a winner, it is very useful for me especially since I tend to want to play flashy tennis and hit winners all the time, thanks for the tips!
Thanks a ton for all these gems. After watching your grip video, I changed my grip for forehand from eastern to semi-western and now I am hitting balls with good topspin. Now I am gonna use these insights to reduce my unforced errors while hitting winners. Grateful to top tennis training, Simon, Alex for improving my game in a huge way.
The quality in your videos is really getting better, good job ! I'm now watching all your new videos ! (I'm a french viewer so I can even improve my english a little, while learning helpful things in tennis !)
11:44 The top player on my high school tennis team is a big hitter and this is the strategy that I use to win points against him (I know I can't beat him but at least I can stay in the match)
Wow this was a great video! you don't see many with a tactical perspective like this.! Really appreciated the tip about changing the hitting pattern for faster opponents, in order to hit behind them , never occurred that that was a way to deal with faster players. , thanks for the new quiver in my game , to I'll definitely use that the next time that situation comes up.
Hi I was wondering if you could upload drills for beginners in group lessons. Would be nice! Drills you can do in a rally would be nice as well. Keep up the good work!
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Thanks Simon for your reply, will be appreciated if you analyse the best place we should stand on the court in the different cases (serve return, rally on baseline, volley, overhead, ..etc). Thanks and good luck.
Most of amateurs are just impatient. They want to quickly finish the point too much. It is actually a good time to intentionally slow down the pace and give them high and spinning ball. You can really get a lot of free points by doing that.
It depends on how I feel the ball that day and on the level of my opponent :) My goal for the next outdoor season is being able to play as I do indoors and not looking like someone who had a terrible accident or a brain damage just because it's a little windy or there are shadows on the court. Ambitious much? Hopefully watching your videos will do the trick...
I'm a fairly aggressive player and I'll go for a forcing shot or winner as soon as the right ball presents itself. I'm a lot more patient and smart when building rallies than I used to be though.
thanks guys for your quick reply and want you to give you the best wishes for christmas i am thinking of you a lot your such a nice guys and your skills are outstanding thanks for improving my game
