    At 12:42 the value of M= 75knm then you will get xu= 97.72mm

      Could you please explain how you arrived at the equation for the area of steel? I mean it's not given explicitly in IS 456:2000

    Why did you use Moment of resistance for Concrete, you should use for steel in under reinforced rt ?

      For a particular member it's M.R will be same.
      And also we equate cu and tu so it doesn't matter.

    As Xu is greater than Xu,max you can't take the value simply you will have to carry on iterations because steel has not yielded yet completely.

    Bro when we have calculated Moment of Resistance =339.74.Considering the Safety Factor, should the beam carry Bending moment =339.74/1.5=226.49 and the UDL must be calculated for that BM of 226.49?

      if you divide Bm by 1.5 and calculate udl you will get the working load means that much load the structure will be subjected to during it service life most of the time. But in limit state we multiply the load by 1.5 safety factor. If you calculate udl from BM=339 from this you will get the m,aximum load carrying capacity of beam
