Great video thanks! I'm preparing to do this same beehive transmission cooler upgrade to my daughter's 2013 Rogue. Recently did a drain and fill with AMSoil CVT fluid. I can't believe how neglected alot of these CVT transmissions are and it seems to me that dealerships are part of the problem because they apparently told the previous owner of my Rogue that the CVT didn't need to be serviced 😮. I'll be running only AMSOIL fluids in it going forward and probably do a drain and fill on the CVT annually. Again thanks for sharing the video of your project!
Thank it was definitely a project. I had to redo a few things but that what you get when you skimp. I’ll do an update soon on how well the Amsoil is doing.
this fix works if your juke is getting thrown into "limp mode" where the car essentially stops responding to the gas pedal at high speeds or high ambient temperatures. it is the result of poor transmission design on nissans part and therefore the fix is to add an aftermarket cooler. this solved the over heating issue in my juke. Also if the car is throwing random transmission codes this a good place to start. mine was doing this and after the cooler install all codes subsided
I started using AMSoil at 70Kish, I am at 106K now, But over the last 4 years I have done 6/7 Drain and fill's the last 6 were AMsoil so I should Have about 97% Amsoil in there by now.. Watch because when you do your first drain and fill about 3.5 quarts will stay inside that torque converter, I know it's expensive but it is always good to do a few back to back drain and fill's over a 2/3 week period to clean it all the way out. The stuff will have a cleaning effect please remember. So you may want to do it one more time, just to bee safe.
@@marcasswellbmd6922 - This Cube CVT has had many drain/fill cycles before I installed Amsoil CVT with a new pan, gasket, filters and extra magnets so it was very clean to begin with. Also had the valve body off and disassembled for cleaning & inspection and you get a bunch of extra fluid out when you do this. So, this Amsoil fill was almost a complete change out (over 8qts/liters) and everything is working great. Using CVTz50 w VeePeak VP11 to monitor CVT temp & info.
@@marstedtI have a 2015 Nissan juke nismo rs awd. I am wanting to install the cvt cooler and amsoil. With the cvtz50 app, did u notice a drop on cvt temps?
@@felixaripa6482 I don't have a cooler setup on the Cube yet but I do monitor the CVT temp regularly. The only time I see it consistently overheat is in the summer (25C+) on long drives (1hr+), heavy load (4 passenger / gear) and in stop-go traffic (after 1hr). With Amsoil CVT fluid I would not be concerned with temp up to 95C but I would be cautious.
Great video. Did this after watching your videos. Couple of takeaways. 1) use oil to lubricate the connectors when installing the hoses, they will slide in easier. 2) Buy oem gasket for oil pan 3) Be very careful to not overtighten the oil pan bolts they are extremely easy to strip (i stripped 3/18 bolts and had to buy replacement M6 bolts but had to use thread locker to get them to stay as the thread on the inside of the pan itself was stripped 4) when removing the cooler itself 1/4 of the bolts snapped midway, no clue how this happened, i literally just filled the hole with jb weld and had to fasten the new cooler with 3/4 bolts installed 5) don't pull the wheel fenders out too much as they are almost impossible to snap back in place as they were originally
Oh wow you were in the same situation as me.. I bought my car with 68K on it. I didn't know anything about CVTs.. I am about to roll over to 106K now, But I put a cooler in and switched over to AMSoil CVT Fluid around the same time you are switching over.. So far so good.. I don't get wine but I can hear my Bearings in that CVT humming from time to time.. I am on a tune and making about 100more LB's of Torque to the wheels, But honestly I never really put the pedal to the floor anymore. I always half pedal to 3/4 pedal my car.. Especially in the summer's.. Also I recommend doing a drain and fill every June once a year no matter the milage.. Good luck and Good video..
Thanks for the comment I’ll definitely be doing fluid frequent changes. So far it’s been nice. I did have some leaking issues after the change. I’ve corrected that issue and I might do a update vid soon
@@meberra Thanks, and Great, Keep up the good work.. I have some good vid's but don't really know how to edit properly.. But anyway keep her clean and she will last..
Honestly I never bothered to pull the pan for that reason.. I did pull the Bee Hive, But I left the pan a lone. (Someone gave me a tip and told me not to pull the Pan, because of leaking issues n, not to worry about the Magnets and just keep the fluid clean. He worked for Nissan and told me that if you pull the pan, most people bend it a few mm's and don't realize it. It almost can't be helped sometimes.. Also a Tip watch how much and what kind of gasket sealer you use, that stuff can break off inside the pan and start floating around. They do say to use a small amount of that along with the pan gasket. That's why 80% of the rebuilds fail they use way to much of that pink crap. If you ever watched any CVT rebuilds. Anyway, About a half inch of that stuff spurts out the sides so just imagine how much is going inside when everything is squashed down and flattened together.. Anyway Good Luck, I'll Sub you If you Sub me.. I have a Front Bottom spoiler going on this week.. ruclips.net/channel/UCOIeusJytRsiRdayyMdp_6w
Me too I started using AMSoil CVT fluid about 3 years back now.. No Issues.. I have a Tuned CVT Juke make another 100 WT over stock.. LOL, So I need this stuff..
My filter looked like that, and the guy was like it still looks good.. I didn't even know how to respond to that, I just made him put the new one in anyway.. Just look at the new one and then the old one.. LOL..
How long was the process start to finish? I'm about to attempt this myself on my juke with 76k. Never done anything on cars besides change fluids and other basic stuff. Hopefully I can make it happen without too much headache.
this job took me 2-3 days working about 4 hours each day but i ran into unextpected problems like stripping and broken bolts. several runs to autozone in between and braving texas garage heat
Amsoil CVT is not only superior, it was developed by Amsoil specifically to address Honda and especially Nissan CVT failures.
Great job! I have a Sentra and I’m adding a cooler just to keep this car moving along. Cars are too expensive now.
Amsoil CVT is black magic. Nissan CVTs respond so well to that fluid
Absolutely! Remember to keep the pan and magnet clean. I drop the pan once a year during fall service.

Use amsoils best products in everything you can (differentials, transfercase, etc) . I would add a derale remote oil filter inline as well.

Good shit bro bro…👍🏽💯..Shout out to Kirk on being clutch…let me know how it rides..peace out!!
That has very minimal wear for a CVT.the metal is from the belt. You’ll never have to worry about the CVT other than oil changes now.
Where can I find that kit (beehive & cooler) you used ? I have a 2017 juke
Links are in the discussion. But you’ll need to buy the gaskets from Nissan

what is CVT oil change period of juke 2014-2019 1.6 cvts
Owner’s manual says every 60k. I will be doing mine every 40k since I have over 80k miles on the car now.
How is that amsoil holding up? Did u notice a performance increase?
Holding up really well I feel like the cvt is much more smoother running throu gears
