Thank you very much for uploading this. Not sure how it has taken me 6 years to find it. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mr Dunn twice, through my work, some 20 years ago. An absolute gent, very happy to answer my questions, even though I'm sure he must have been asked them many, many times before.

Fantastic episode about a decent genuine guy. Thanks for sharing. I think all the boxing editions of This is Your Life are great because I think Eamonn had a boxing background.

what a lovely gentleman, i remember this fight and never forget how Muhammad seemed shocked that Richard did not fold and kept getting up, we had a decent crop then of good fighters and the likes of Richard Dunn should also always be remembered with respect of what they did in a tough tough sport .

I saw Richard box as an amateur in 1967. Victoria Hall, Saltaire, near Bradford. He won his bout against a police officer :)

Me and my girlfriend moved into rooms in a Scarborough hotel owned by Richard Dunn in 1981. I remember we struggled with our heavy bags as we climbed the stairs whilst this big strapping bloke walked in front of us (I had no idea who he was at the time). The rooms were cold and my room had a small 2 bar electric heater, fed by a 10p coin fed meter which later jammed and gave us free heating until we moved out, shortly after celebrating my 21st birthday in his hotel (I remember all his trophies and photo's in the bar area).
We married a couple of years later and now live in Leicester, not far from the gym in Thurmaston where Richard once trained.
