Whoever thought they could do better than the original movie on this needs to rethink their capabilities.
Agreed! The Original is a Masterpiece! This remake is a poor dumbed down version lacking everything that made the classic so great!
This reminds me of a book, where a master Criminal travels into the past to wipe out the future and the hero of the story stops it from happening and the Criminal escapes further into the past and helps Napoleon to win the battle of Waterloo and defeat the British Empire and the hero travels backwards again to stop him and this courses a loop in time.

Strange, I had posted the movie name here earlier, but for some reason it didn’t go through. Yes, it’s The Andromeda Strain (1971). The actors are not common names today, but back then . . . Actors like Arthur Hill, David Wayne and James Olson were familiar to audiences from television and movies. Kate Reid was lesser known, but her performance as the cantankerous, crotchety and contrary Dr. Ruth Leavitt made her memorable. (“Establishment gonna fall down and go boom!”) Directed by Robert Wise (The Day the Earth Stood Still, 1951, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, 1979), the movie, while sci-fi, is actually a taut thriller. It holds up well. Oh, and many thanks to the poster who jumped in with the name for you.
Projekt Wildfire. One of the best films from the 70's.

I didn't know they even remade this movie.
I prefer the book and the '71 movie. The plot of the book and '71 movie are clear and easy to follow, whereas the remake is cluttered with a great deal of unnecessary story lines.
I love the dryness of the first movie. More scientific and realistic.
Similar to the “Andromeda Strain” movie.
The future? Time travel? The original book and movie have nothing to do with time travel.

I think this came out around 2004. They got in the obligatory digs on President Bush and, at one point, Schroeder's character just volunteers that he is a homosexual, apropos of nothing.

That's not even the total alleged death-toll of the poorly-designed British vax in INDIA("Delta Strain" was caused by the 1MIL doses given in North India; allegely 3MIL dead were burned or DUMPED into local waterways. Rest of India was fine!)
PLUS, China also denied aid to more than that of their own infected citizens during their quarnatines(purges of the sick)!
