Robert smigel did have his own show on Comedy Central for a while, it had Triumph the insult comic dog and various cartoons. I don’t know if the AGD was on it too.

I had a girlfriend back in the late 90's who didn't speak English so she didn't care about SNL even with subtitles, but one day I was watching an episode and AGD theme song came on and she listened and started to watch and laugh. She kept singing the theme all the time and asked me when the Ambiguously Gay Dua was gonna be on. Fun times.

I thought it was just about how unintentionally gay the Batman/Robin stuff was in the comics.
The most infamous aspects were that they slept in the same bed (yes, that was a thing), and they exercised shirtless together. Plus, later on, Robin got really jealous whenever Batman dated someone.
