The Warning live at Lucio de Monterrey in 2015 is a great show to watch. Pau does the piano version of Escape the Mind and they cover Ozzy, Foo Fighters, Guns n Roses and Muse. Some of the other songs off this EP are played also.

Free Falling made its way into the Rock Band 4 video game. A few months later, Survive from 21st Century Blood made it into the RB4 DLC pack, Rivals. During interviews, they often cringe and talk about their “tiny baby voices” on these songs. Needlessly, IMO- consider the talent and artistry involved. They were literally in elementary and middle school, writing, performing, singing and recording their own music. As Pau would say, “Locura!”
I’d say, Ashlena that Escape the Mind is also my favorite song on this EP. It evokes so much imagery to me of epic, impossibly beautiful, yet treacherous landscapes to traverse. The brain or ‘mind’ maze artwork is a great design in that respect. These girls were and are just geniuses in so many ways.
Three sisters aged 14, 12 & 9 produced 5 songs over a week, after their music mentor & Ale's bass teacher Pablo Gonzalez suggested they write original stuff, following their viral Enter Sandman cover in 2014. Imagine Pablo's amazement when his wards presented their songs. His jaws must have stayed on the floor for a while. Imagine him taking these songs to Luis & Mony and their realization about the prodigies they have to nurture in a professional manner. Rudy joined the team in 2016. Initially the girls didn't want to record these songs but Pablo insisted. So we have this E.P. published in early 2015. Pablo needs to be interviewed and a documentary made about his invaluable contribution to The Warning journey. The girls performed the entire album live soon after with relevant information on a background projection screen. Here is Escape the Mind with Pau on piano. I’ve already mentioned Escape The Mind live at Agua Fria. Watch the version that has Dany’s intro. with subtitles. She gives the small crowd a brief background of their start.
Glad you thought Free Falling was a cool song and similar to their current songs. It's also a favorite of mine due to the nice lead and the cool harmonies. I would like to see them do it again with their current strong vocals and three part harmony. I got Dany to agree to review Free Falling next Master class. I'm going ask her if they would consider doing it again. Thanks 🤘😎
The fact that this EP was literally written by children just blows my mind. Fun fact my favorite song from this EP is Scape The Mind and it is the first time I've listened to it here with you. I don't know WTF happened as to why I've never listen to it before I'm somewhat angry at myself yet happy I did and love it!
Free Falling was included in Rockband 4. There is a cute video filmed by the Ellen Show where they show the girls finding out about it. There is also an excellent live version at Liceo where their friends are singing along.
Ale wrote" Take me down "when she was 9 -10 years old , mind boggling really !Plus at this first stage the girls were experimenting with their sound . Also these songs can be viewed live at their school concert ( the Liceo ) and the Dakota bar .Out of all of these great songs i must say that i think that " Escape the mind " is pure class ( Disney should buy the rights to this song and use it for one of their productions ), it's that good .
I love the song Escape The Mind so so much. The musical composition is incredible and I love violins in general, which just adds to my enjoyment of the song. I have to admit I had never considered a metal version, but I'm sure it would come out great! 😂 Seeing Pau sing this at the LICEO concert in front of her school friends singing the song back to her is just so great. Oh and the rest of the EP is great too! Different vibe for sure, but the roots are definitely there.
Yes Pau,Paulina my favorite I always say Im glad her voice changed from that chipmunk voice to the amazing rasp and beautifully haunting sound that makes grown men cry now.
Pau often refers to this EP as a few little experiments. Dany and Pau performed some of these songs acoustic at the Montreal radio show appearance they did while Ale was sick. They basically did a medley of songs from Escape The Mind, XXI Century Blood and QOTMS. Ale was the main songwriter on Take Me Down and she wrote it at 9 YEARS OLD lol!
Thx Ashlena, You are right they were just starting to write and record and the production wasnt great. Crazy how young they were. I remember hearing Pau say in an interview that Ale was in grade 4 when they were in the studio recording this EP, that is kinda crazy. You can still hear the passion and potential just pouring out of them.
Love the EP…I also hope they re-record these again with their mature voices, so we can have both versions in circulation. I’ve seen a YT video of young musicians covering Free Falling.
Eternal Love is my favorite from the EP, in fact it is my daily alarm. I wake up every morning to it. Fun story, back when there were only a few hundred patrons, there existed a very special reward. You could request an acoustic performance of any one of their songs. I chose Eternal Love. I have a copy of Dany on her acoustic guitar, Ale on her acoustic bass and Pau using a shaker performing this song. The recording is from their rehearsal space, so they are in front of a huge mirror, and Pau spends the second half of the song trying to get Ale to laugh. When Ale finally smiles, Pau almost loses it….all the while Dany is pouring her heart out vocally. It is one of my prized possessions.

Also this song made it on the RockBand IV video game. Their song *Survive* from *XXI Century Blood* also is available as a download on RockBand IV game. The best show to see theese songs played live is their school performance in front of their classmates. Songs are separate or one fan put those videos in a way their show was. Look for *LICEO* on the thumbnail which is Spanish for school.
The Warning used to have for sale on their website a concert they did a few months before the complete Queen of the Murder Scene album was released (the album was released in chapters originally), in said concert they told stories about how they came up with some of their songs. They did some songs from escape the mind.

I undestand that this LICEO show was recorded to be used as proof that both Pau ands Ale were advanced enough musically to attent Berklee College of Music. Each of the 4 covers they play was planned to showcase each instrument with an extra song I guess, all I remember that Muse's Hysteria was the Ale showcase song.
Free Falling is a classic… the whole thing is 🤘crazy that sum of the songs from 21st Century Blood were written during this era of Escape The Mind.. i know When I’m Alone was one of them
Pau singing "Fade Away" is pretty much their (her) Anthem. It's her attitude in a nutshell... and it's not really just her - they *all* possess that "drive forward no matter what" perspective. I absolutely love that song, and it's message is *important* . It was funny in an interview they did a couple years ago, hearing them express astonishment that people still knew tunes from this "album" (really just a collection of recordings they never intended to release, when they were trying to find "their sound" ), and Pau compared it to an artist looking at drawings they did when they were 10 and thinking, "Man, these are so crap!" But even if these were tunes crafted by girls with an average age of 12, you can still see the roots and talents that has become the modern version of _The Warning_ . It's still valuable stuff, and yes... it would be awesome if they had some spare time to re-record at least some of these in modern times. Also, the piano version of _Escape the Mind_ is probably a good example of the sort of tune Pau presents to her sisters when she has a song idea. This is pretty much what they first hear, and then go on to refine (and "de-ballad") when they continue the song writing process.
I've often described this album as containing songs that could have came out on some kid's show, but they would have been written by adults for kids to sing, with adult musicians to play the backing tracks. The difference is that these great songs were written by THEM, not adults, and all the instrumentals performed and recorded by them! So that's what makes these first songs so great. These kids were prodigies. And if no one told, Free Falling was featured in the video game Rock Band 4.
If I am not wrong, all the songs on this EP were written individually, except for Free Falling, which they wrote together and it shows. This was supposed to only be for them and not recorded or released, but they decided to release it anyway, which took a lot of guts, especially leaving it available to buy or stream to this day. Also listening to this EP makes clear that all the work that they did with their vocal coach really paid off.
Hi Ash! Another excellent reaction!! Remembering that they were 10, 13 and 15 years old when they recorded this EP, it is a dream for many fans that they can re-record these songs nowadays, but it seems to be very difficult to convince them of this, as they have already said that they will never again will play them live again. At the 2022 acoustic in Canada, they sang excerpts from some of them. Ale was ill and did not participate. Curiosities: Ale composed Take me Down. Many of these songs are live at Colégio Liceo. There is a short video from 1 or 2 years ago of Dany singing Eternal Love. And don't forget to react to the songs from this and XXI CENTURY BLOOD, at Dakota Bar!
Pretty sweet huh? Thanks for this Ash! Loved it! You know that keeping with tradition, your going to have to watch them do these Live. The Concert they gave at their School in front of screaming fans at this age is flat out adorbs, but...they slay the entire 10 song set, starting with 4 banging covers, then leads into 6 originals, that have these songs. Every single one of them impress. Pau really stands out with her drumming, and singing at the keyboard for Escape the Mind. Locura! 🤘
Hi, dear Ashlena... as you know, I am not the biggest Warning fan, but this time, i actually liked some of the songs... especially the title track ! Really beautiful.... and your reaction to this EP was wonderful, as always. I really enjoyed watching the complete video.... and regarding the fact how young these girls were, it was pretty amazingly done ! And you know what ? You were absolutely right when mentioning that the singer reminds you of Hanson ! I remember this boy band back in the 90s, having been a one-hit-wonder with their "Mmm-bop" song... and yes, the singers' voices sound pretty similar. Can't wait to see your Jinjer vlog video now ! Stay safe ! Here's to your next one ! Best wishes from Germany : Gerry
Over here we witness three young sisters starting their musical journey. There are tons of different elements, like country, classical, and it all revolves around what would become The Warning's sound. I feel like Free Falling is a great example of "here's a taste of what you'll get next". And dude, Escape the Mind's piano and strings are among the prettiest pieces of music I've ever listened to.
These are the first things they ever wrote, and in interviews, they said they were just focusing on what the songs needed and not trying to make them rock. They also did it all by themselves. In their first English-speaking interview they did in 2015 they talked about them and said some were pop, 1 was country, and the rest were rock. That would be a great reaction for you to listen to that interview. The only reactor I've ever seen react to that interview is Strongdad. I asked them in a patron live if they had any plans to re-record these songs, and they said they were just focusing on new songs and didn't want to spend the money to go back and re-record old songs, but maybe in the future they said. In one of their other vlogs they said the only songs they ever had anyone help them with lyrically were the 2 in Spanish. Their mom helped them because they couldn't get the wording right because Spanish uses so many words or slang stuff. I can't remember exactly but I know it was a struggle for them
Yep - between Mexican slang and the rather rigid grammar rules of Spanish, it's not particularly easy to craft songs in that language. You can just "slam poet" it, but then you run into the potentially losing the audience and having them misunderstand you... or, you can beat your head against a wall of grammar and have trouble getting words to match the meter of the musical portion. It ain't easy; English is much more flexible mostly because it's a mish-mash of other languages and there are lots of options to saying what you want to say in different ways. Then there's also the fact that - like it or not - English is the modern "International Language". Largely because of air travel, but that's a whole other story. 😋
Hey, nice reaction! It never gets old watching reactions of The Warning. Especially Escape the Mind the beginnings of The Warning. If you were listening to them at that time, you 1. You knew they were very talented. 2. You had a sense that you were watching and hearing greatness in the making. 3 There was something about them that was different they just weren't the norm they didn't try to act like anyone else. They didn't overplay their act or song. Their songs were catchy even if it wasn't your type. Their songwriting was beyond their age. They were just being themselves that caught the heart of the people. Again, awesome reaction. Keep rocking. The Warning 🤘
Their time in music has come full circle in 4 ways. Their Enter Sandman video went viral in 2014 and in 2020 they did the remake of Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara for the 30th anniversary of the Black Album. The did a cover of The Pretender by the Foo Fighters and then got to open for the Foo Fighters in Mexico City just 10 days before the drummer for the Foo Fighters died. That is the concert the video for Money was shot. They also did a cover of Hysteria by Muse and Ale shows expert level bass playing by going over the top of the neck in a live performance and Then they opened 4 shows for Muse in Mexico, and just this summer the opened for Muse in Europe. While at the Berkley College of Music in 2015 the got to tour the company that made the game Rock Band and found out their song Free Falling was in the game, and later Survive was available as a download to the Rock Band IV as well. Not bad for 3 sisters from Mexico with a passion for music, and it all happened before the youngest was 19. Ale has already spent half her life in her career as a musician and the band is just over 10 years old.
They have officially released two EPs. The second one is MAYDAY, which is the only EP that consists only of songs that later appear on an album (ERROR). What I like about Escape the Mind is that it is an exploration of their musical directions consisting of each of their creative skills and talent. You can feel what each of them contribute to their sound as musicians and songwriters. They say they cringe when they hear these recordings, so they don't listen to them. It's kind of like visiting your mom and having her pull out artwork you did that may have hung on your refirgerator door for a while when you were young. They realize it's okay because they were children. But knowing what they know now, it seems so primative to them. I believe they recorded most of this in their home studio, The Warning Cave. It was either there of probably at Victoria Studios, also in Monterrey, where their father has an association. Victoria Studios is also where they recorded their reimagined version of Enter Sandman and several live session videos for the songs from the MAYDAY EP. BTW Pau will refer to her young voice as "squeaky", like a chipmunk or Minnie Mouse.
So glad you reacted to this. It really gives a great reference point to see how they have developed over the years. You don't often get a glimpse into a bands development from their earliest days like we have with The Warning. I think that is one of the things that makes them special. We can see their rise from fledgling songwriters to the musical powerhouse that they have become, and we can take that journey with them through their songs and social media. No wonder we all feel this deep connection to the band. ⚡
Im going there. If Kathy Perry, T Swift, Olivia, etc released any of these songs TODAY would be top chart sellers. Naturally they’d have better production and mature voices. But the ideas, elements and lyrics were far beyond their ages and as good or better than what those artists release now.
I've said before in comments to reactions to their Enter Sandman rework... since they're so good at re imagining old songs imagine what they could do with their own old songs in a few years.
Hi Ashlena! Unfortunately the only really good recording of all these songs is their concert at Liceo. They played an early morning show on their last day of school before their summer break for their teachers and classmates. They played every song from this EP. They also played three cover songs. Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne to show off Dany's guitar skills. Everlong by Foo Fighters to show off Pau drum skills and Hysteria by Muse to show off Ale's bass skills. It is really cool to see their schoolmates singing along to all their songs in their school uniforms before classes. They were already rockstars in their own school. LOL.
Hola Ash Fun fact if not already mentioned free fallen is on the Rock Band video game later on Rock Band Also added Survive on Rock Band #4 if I’m not mistaken the CEO gave $25 K toward the 21 CB help produced 21CB Album
Thanks for the reaction Ash! The album wasn’t available in their store, I have watched their Liceo concert which had a lot of these songs live, but never heard the album!!😊⚡️
So much talent right from the beginning, this is why none of us are surprised to see them where they are now! Their parents need to write a parenting book!
Gracias Ash! No doubt others have already suggested you react to their LICEO live concert. Just wanna reiterate - it's a must for any WARNING fan. Looking forward to whatever you do next. 👊💙🤘
I'd say around now is a good time in your journey to watch the mini documentary "Mayday in the Making" (Mayday; title of the first half of the album Error released as an EP). Partly interviews, partly behind the scenes footage, it covers the process of recording during the first easing up of the Covid lockdown. I'm pretty sure you're gonna like the heck out of it.
I'll walk to the very top... They are doing just that! Probably the most profound song describing their rise in the industry, ten plus years on because they still have that drive and dedication to their craft.❤
As always I love all your reactions. It really is amazing what they were able to do at such a young age. There are some live versions out there of them doing at least some of these songs. I know the school concert at least had a few of them. Its been awhile since I've watched it but I know they do some of them.
Nice Reaction Ash! They played these songs live in 2015 if you want to hear them. They played a concert for their Catholic School classmates (all female) and they all had their school uniforms on. When Pau sang the song Escape the Mind on piano they were singing along with her, but this was shy Pau, not the extrovert Pau we know today. "The Warning Liceo de Monterrey Complete"
I wish they would do these songs at one of their big Monterrey concerts. "Want to hear the first songs we wrote?" Pau performing Escape The Mind with an orchestra would bring the house down.
Even back then, their super power was and still is their harmonies. You can tell they were playing with sounds. Very cool. Even if Pau is embarrassed by her voice back then,it is still pretty cool. Love the Warning.
A lot of the songs on "XXI Century Blood" were written the same time as these songs (Pau said). This was the first time in a real studio. Very experimental. Layering harmonies etc. They did Ellen before the the 2017 Ted X (included, When I'm Alone) Daniella (born, Jan. 30, 2000) Paulina (born, Feb. 5, 2022) Alejandra (born, Dec. 13, 2024) Kinda like a two then three year difference (depending on time of year.)
Woow ❤ Pau cute......good react
It's funny hearing more of an accent in their voices too.
Take Me Down was written by 9yo Alejandra.
Wow I just got on and saw that you reacted to this. No one reacts to this and it is soooo good. Thank you. TWA
Hoping to get enough attention to Rudy and those that need to know we need an actual physical copy for those of us in TWA that would love to have this first EP to add to their great collection!
AGREED I would buy it
They were literally children when they recorded this haha. Insane.
Fun Fact: The Waring "Free Falling" is on Rock Band 4 ...

I don't even really remember what I did that age ( save school ), the Warning went into the studio and made an EP ^^ :) Such dedication.
And the parents birthdays are March and April..FunFacts indeed and insane..lol!!

This is a first listen and I am blown away by how young they were and how good this is very cool. Enjoyed this thanks Ash.
Glad you enjoyed it
And now you know their country side. They can do anything. 🤘⚡🔥
I’ve already mentioned Escape The Mind live at Agua Fria. Watch the version that has Dany’s intro. with subtitles. She gives the small crowd a brief background of their start.
I am waiting until my daughter will know English well enough to dedicate to her Fade Away. I want this song to be her anthem in life.
Glad you thought Free Falling was
a cool song and similar to their current songs. It's also a favorite of mine due to the nice lead and the cool harmonies.
I would like to see them do it again with their current strong vocals and three part harmony.

Free Falling is a classic… the whole thing is 🤘crazy that sum of the songs from 21st Century Blood were written during this era of Escape The Mind.. i know When I’m Alone was one of them
So was "Exterminated".
And River's Soul
yeahh they’ve got videos of them performing those songs in 2015
Just WOW they were kids. Amazing
And if no one told, Free Falling was featured in the video game Rock Band 4.
that's a really good description cause it definitely sounds like adults wrote it
If I am not wrong, all the songs on this EP were written individually, except for Free Falling, which they wrote together and it shows.
They were 9 or 10, 12, and 14 when they write and recorded this.
@@iNsTaNtpUdDiNhEaD Yes, I mentioned the ages from the year the EP was released.
If they sang some of these songs today it would be awesome! “Escape the Mind” is one that is so powerful and timeless, “Free Falling” is another .
Agreed!
At First It was planned for „River Soul“ and „Exterminated“to be Part of the EP.
I LOVE THIS BAND!! ❤❤❤
Even as children, their music is GOOD. The musicality is years beyond their ages.
Great Review Ash!
Not too shabby for first time composing by three little Girls... Conformation of their potential was plain to see for me!!!
Totally agree!
Now you have heard all their original songs except 2: Exterminated and River’s Soul(in my top 5). Don’t miss them.
I won't!
Locura! 🤘
I will!
Pau songs are so deeply introspective and she is outwardly animated. That balance.
Great reaction Ash! I listen to this EP all the time.
Also, Spanish words tend to have more syllables than the corresponding English word.
Great reaction! There is a live version of Take me Down (Dakota Bar) that gets me every time 😊
I will check it out
Hey, nice reaction! The Warning 🤘
thank you
Take me down fue escrita enteramente por Ale. 😊
that is so true! I love that we can see how much they "evolved" :)
@@ashlenamusic I see what you did there! ;)
Im going there.
If Kathy Perry, T Swift, Olivia, etc released any of these songs TODAY would be top chart sellers. Naturally they’d have better production and mature voices. But the ideas, elements and lyrics were far beyond their ages and as good or better than what those artists release now.
totally agree with you there
My favorite off this EP is Eternal Love. Dany's vocals are gorgeous. For whatever reason, this gives me Tom Petty Wildflowers LP vibes ...
Pls try to see and hear Pau's Show me the Light and Black Hole
I reacted to the whole XXI Century blood album!
I've said before in comments to reactions to their Enter Sandman rework... since they're so good at re imagining old songs imagine what they could do with their own old songs in a few years.
Yeah I would love a re-recording of that
All of your reactions to The Warning have been excellent!
aww thanks
There's nothing that can put out the flame.
Signed in now. Daniel Martin ⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Maybe you can react to their concert where they performed these songs at their school.
Will do!
LOL.
ill check it out soon
yeah I hear the Hansons too
haha glad it's not just me
"Don't care what they say, you didn't ask for their opinion"
Such a Pau sentiment.
The only weird thing about the mug is the PC label... ask them for sponcer! ;-) loll
hahahah yea right
Hola Ash Fun fact if not already mentioned free fallen is on the Rock Band video game later on Rock Band Also added Survive on Rock Band #4 if I’m not mistaken the CEO gave $25 K toward the 21 CB help produced 21CB Album
Thanks for the reaction Ash! The album wasn’t available in their store, I have watched their Liceo concert which had a lot of these songs live, but never heard the album!!😊⚡️
So glad you could listen with me!
It is downloadable on all platforms.
So much talent right from the beginning, this is why none of us are surprised to see them where they are now! Their parents need to write a parenting book!
Agreed! How to raise rockstars who are down to earth
Gracias Ash! No doubt others have already suggested you react to their LICEO live concert. Just wanna reiterate - it's a must for any WARNING fan.
Looking forward to whatever you do next.
👊💙🤘
definitely will!
I have it downloaded and ready!
@@ashlenamusic 😁
"The Warning Liceo de Monterrey Complete"
omg that is so cool gotta check that out
QUE BUENA ONDA ,ESPERO QUE TE GUATARA ESTE ALBUM ,ESTAS COMPLETA CON THE WARNING POR SIEMPRE 😎🤘
I'm glad you did this reaction. I had never heard the first 3 songs, so thank you for that. 👍😊
Glad to see a different genre direction, always good to experiment.
Their determination from a young age was not yet realized that their future selves were going to take over the rock world. 🤘🏻 ⚡️ 🤘🏻
...U got the jest...Ale wrote when she was 9...lov the blues feel...
I wish they would do these songs at one of their big Monterrey concerts. "Want to hear the first songs we wrote?" Pau performing Escape The Mind with an orchestra would bring the house down.
I’m kinda hoping for that in Mexico next month!
Super kids, so intelligent ❤❤i like this album also. I listen to it time to time.
Even back then, their super power was and still is their harmonies. You can tell they were playing with sounds. Very cool. Even if Pau is embarrassed by her voice back then,it is still pretty cool. Love the Warning.
Sí, lo de la "taza" es extraño. 😁
...would lov 2 hear this w/ all 3 playn pianos n harmonizing....imagine that sound....
Fade away has a very positive message. Speaks volumes of resilience and determination.
Agreed!
They don’t fade out their studio songs as it wouldn’t translate live properly. 👍
Pau so angelical in this album and then her punk like Narcisista singing, very versatile.
Escape the Mind ,uno de los temas mas bellos que he escuchado, amo el rock de TW
A lot of the songs on "XXI Century Blood" were written the same time as these songs (Pau said). This was the first time in a real studio. Very experimental. Layering harmonies etc. They did Ellen before the the 2017 Ted X (included, When I'm Alone)
Daniella (born, Jan. 30, 2000)
Paulina (born, Feb. 5, 2022)
Alejandra (born, Dec. 13, 2024)
Kinda like a two then three year difference (depending on time of year.)
