  • Today's episode is an amazing fireside chat I did at @AdweekMag with Greg Hahn and David Greiner! We discuss how we build diverse teams at Vaynermedia and the importance of that, holding myself accountable for everything that happens in the agency, my journey to first starting Vaynermedia, making things people want to consume versus making what we want to make, why business is genuinely fun to me and much more!
Enjoy! Let me know what you thought.

Gary speaks many things true but in simpler terms of starting a successful agency, the first step would be to get experience by working with an marketing/advertising agency and from there start laying the foundation. Once you’ve an idea about how it’s done, then it’s a matter of sales & scaling up with minimal friction in the process. Makes sense?

Not at all my brother. All it takes is this:
      1) deciding on a service you can offer to clients (Fb ads, google ads, yt ads, or anything else to help a business grow)
2)becoming good at outreach, get good at communicating, negotiating, closing, & executing.
I’m not an expert, but that’s what I have to say about it
If I’m wrong. People in the comments pls feel free to correct me

11:22Gary Vee I think you maybe under valuing META Oculus. Please do not dismiss the the meta space in Oculus as not being as attractive or being something that people are not truly focused on. Meta Oculus is being run like a flat world and all the people who create on it are creating mini cultures and using their creative minds to build things that would be considered the frame work to something far greater. Don’t ignore it because all of the eyes and ears are somewhere else for the time being …

i think you forget people didn’t want to join twitter until twitter became the norm. Same thing with TikTok same thing with every platform. History repeats itself with oculus. I think the stigma of wearing a VR or being apart of that community will soon come to an end and VR and Oculus will become the norm as well

You run a company that hurts humans on a molecular level yet you enjoy the game too much to hear humanity, because your emails are telling you to stay and good boy and not break the wealth rules? What difference will you make at the end....finite resources gone, freedom gone, etc....but kindness wins.. Your kindness is where. Ive been here since 2013...what have you done for the world Gary

@@rasheemthebestfirstone3274 anyone who is actually wealthy understands money creation and the manipulative Leverage that it gives the higher you move up once you win the game you realize that it's actually pointless because it's still in a stagnant malignant cancerous system and embracing that system after having won the game tells me that you only love the game not anything past it which is directly correlated to humans humanity and their future and everything else that humans and the responsibilities are to help with this world kindness yes we need that knowledge yes we need that but what comes after that what do we do with that knowledge and that kindness to make a difference not just a profit

@@perfectentrylyfe24 you’re incredibly dramatic, sounds like you need to not put so much thought into what Gary V is doing and work on your view of things. Because he’s doing what he wants and you’re projecting your view on the world in what is a marketing conversation. Probably shouldn’t spend time here if it makes you uncomfortable.
