  • I wanted to show off my wheels while making a recommendation to those who want an easier time, and care about, wheel cleaning and maintenance. Ceramic coating all wheels (once clean) is a 30 minute job, if you move slowly! You'll thank yourself for as long as it holds up and those rims are easy to shine up with your routine washes.

      Well worth the wait..?@ Going to look at some colors for a wrap tomorrow. Likely in the gray family still - another satin finish more than likely. Hope you're well. D

      HNY Dennis! Hope all is well in TX. With the Spyder gone I had to find another convertible for the AZ winter. FB marketplace can be a treasure trove - especially in this used car marketplace!

    Can you please measure difference in weight of the wheels?

    • @DWraysGarage
      @DWraysGarage  2 года назад

      I'll get to it at some point. For now, I'm confident we lost ~5-7 lbs of unsprung weight at each corner based on humping the wheels up on my rack. A definite improvement both visually and diet-wise.

      @@DWraysGarage I was looking some videos and found that those guys who try to have a better contact for start they change rims to 15-16" size and use some drag style tires. When wheels start spinning - the tire start to act like spring, and actually gets more contact to push the car. I remember last one was w211, but since we have staggered wheels, I didn't find any useful size for R230. If you get wide wheels it doesn't make any difference in straight line, but adds more contact during tuns.
      I personally prefer 18 not bigger as it makes the ride more comfortable, softer ride.
      When ordering rims, what sizes should we know?
      How stiff is the ride now?

      @@pfoxhound main size issue would be caliper clearance and flush fitment. I believe 9.5 is maxed out up front and 10.5/11 rear widths. ET that Vossen chose was 25F/18R. Diameters you seem to have a handle on. Interesting about the smaller rim sizes, I never considered that. I am not unhappy with the ride on the 19s. Feels barely different to the OEM 18s to me. ABC is running strong still.
