Power and speed is highly subjective and is dependent on materials and desired results. There is no "set, set of settings". On some videos, I do disclose the settings, but always recommend running your own tests on your material.
Is LightBurn good for a beginner or is the free one decent? I mainly just want to be able to etch logos and maybe etch some text in cursive. Thank you for your time, Merry Christmas.
Lightburn is far superior to Laser GRBL. I think the $60 license fee is well worth it. Both programs have learning curves. For some really good Lightburn tutorials, check out The Louisiana Hobby Guy ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=louisiana+hobby+guy Rich has done a great job with these, so I have no intentions of trying to duplicate what he has already done.
Have a look at this video from the Louisiana Hobby Guy: ruclips.net/video/VKZUpGUSO5k/видео.html&ab_channel=TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I was going to make one, but he did such a good job, that I am leaving the Lightburn tutorials to him!
I purchased this Laser a few weeks ago. I have been struggling with the y axis travel. the gantry wants to rack. I have tried adjusting the belts so both sides have the same amount of tension, and the guide rollers. I also tried unplugging one drive to see if it was a bad drive but this is not it. When I do a 2 pass on test letters the second pass will deviate from the first in some areas especially on curves. Just wondering if you have a tutorial on adjusting these types of machines for fixing this type of problem. Thank you.
Two things to check. Well, maybe three..... I recently worked on a laser, similar to this one, but different brand, that had a warped extrusion and at one point in Y axis travel, it would stall on one side when it reached that point, racking it. This can be checked with a straightedge along side the extrusion. The next item to look at is the eccentric nut roller. This should be tight enough that you cannot easily spin the wheels with your finger, but not so tight as to bind. If too loose, the gantry will not run true to the V grooves and rack. Third item is to check that the belt sprockets on the stepper motors are tight. If one is slipping on the motor shaft, it will throw off accuracy.
@@rogersshop Thanks for the input. I ended disassembling the gantry and found a bad bearing on one of the guide rollers. This was causing the racking. I reconfigured the rollers to a 3 per side setup, triangle instead of square. this helped for the most part, but is still not perfect.
@@miketorgerson3536 I purchased the "cheapest" laser I could find, just to see what it was like and found 6 out of 9 rollers had bad bearings, among a laser head that pretty much failed after only a few hours use. I did do a video on this laser a while back.
@@michaeldowell196 it's a great video but it's just funny that it's literally what I needed to know and it's the only part that's got that way lol If you still need to know when you have it mounted on the machine, you can see four screws on the very top of the laser head. I unscrewed the one in the front left based on another video, unscrewed it just a little and shoved the little fork of the ground wire in there and lightly screwed it back down. So far I've been using the machine with no issues
Thanks for the video! You are the only one I could find who shows installing the laser module. ❤
Great explenations, thank you very much. You made it easy !!!
Thank you very much for the thorough explanation!
Thank you It was easy to put it together following your instructions..I can't wait to see your other videos
Thank you for detailed instructions!
Super helpful for a beginner - thanks.
I liked the video. But it would be nice to see the settings you are changing. I.E. Laser Power, speed, etc...

very informative video I have the smaller Aufero1 but after watching this I am tempted to upgrade to the Aufero2
I have since extended this laser: ruclips.net/video/DRwclpC4P_c/видео.html
Is installing lasergrbl necessary? I have lightburn already and unsure why I would need lasergrbl.
No. I show it only because some refuse to pay for a software package.

Hi nice video. I just got this laser and have no absolute idea how to use lightburn I'm struggling to get this laser to work. What can I do?

Ground screw goes...... Where tho 😵
My thoughts exactly

I don’t like the Ground on the Laser Head it’s grounded to plastic. Not Metal to Metal so it is Not Actually Grounding Anything.
The screw passes into the aluminum housing, completing the ground. Not the best setup, but it does work.
